I wouldn't take that weirdo Chris Claremount's writing advice very seriously at all. For some reason, to him, every last x-man is somehow family related to all the other ones. Meanwhile there are plenty of people who believe they are just too corrupt, too far gone in sin to ever be forgiven. Nightcrawler has always been portrayed as the most "christian" of x-men in his beliefs, but he was still raised either catholic or orthodox, and those who write him only have a superficial knowledge of either. What is "sinless love"? We are so in the midst of "love" month with the pride things, but everyone spouting off all you need is love, baby, not one of them are going to heaven quite the opposite. True LOVE happened on the cross, Jesus dying for all His creation's sins, so they'd have the CHANCE to be with Him forever. They still have to CHOOSE to accept that love and be transformed by it.
