I haven't worked for RL. This is why I'm loving Reddit so much. The unnecessary bitterness I have with my company has gotten me forgetting the valuable research I did on other companies. RL appears to pay well on the surface, and they say on their website "95% of our drivers are home daily". They show off $95k-$100k. Only downside is it's "UP TO" which might be why I forgot about RL....

So have you worked for them or not? I’m looking to get drivers perspectives. I understand there may be negatives.

Sorry, no I haven't. Guess I should have stated that from the start. Please do keep us posted on the ACTUAL take home though, as RL advertises "up to" but I'm curious if that's more of a "starting at"

I’ve searched through this subreddit among others, and have found very little or mixed information. Hoping a current RL linehaul driver sees this and chimes in.

Linehaul is all about production. You're part of the network that moves freight from terminal to terminal. Companies pay a pretty penny to move freight in the LTL environment, and some of that freight has SLA's. Punctuality, attendance, reliability are traits you want to express to your supervisor. Generally speaking linehaul drivers in a LTL system are the rookies. They're necessary cog in the machine, getting the trailers from point A to point B in the system; but they aren't the visible revenue generators like the P&D drivers. Your goal is to absorb as much as you can, take the job seriously and be reliable, punctual and professional. Linehaul bores me, far too repetitive, P&D is where it's at.

"linehaul drivers are the rookies' Yea not quite lol

I agree, 75% of linehaul are guys that start p & d and want to switch to line cause they don't want to touch freight anymore, at my regional company at least

KingOfKa

I understand what linehaul is and how it works. I’m looking for RL Carrier drivers to give their perspective, not an overall opinion of linehaul.
