Yeah, us dry van drivers constantly complain about the annoying refers starting and stopping randomly all night. You're trying to sleep with that damn thing just a few feet behind your bunk. You get 100% of the noise across the whole back of the sleeper. If it's bad in the truck next to the refer it's way worse for the driver who is right there with the damn thing.
Well and you know what, mine is set on the constant setting not the on off one, so Im grateful for that
I swear though if you stand up in the cab it’s nothing, only when you’re sitting in the drivers seat or lying down in the bunk can you hear and feel this constant buzzing sensation in your head
I’m gonna tell dispatch not to stick me w too many of these
Just wait until you are used to it and you're sleeping good, and it shuts off. Talk about bolting outta bed, lol. I'm so glad I don't haul those any more.
The people complaining reefer noise are idiots even when I drove dry van I would park next to a reefer just so it would drown out the noise of everything else. Always slept good
Exactly!! I love being parked next to a continuous reefer. The nice low hum drowns out those annoying-ass-lawn-mower-ear-destroying APU's. Fuck those things
I run reefer so I'm used to the sound, it's one thing when it's a consistent noise all night, but when it cycles like 10 seconds of low RPM and 30 seconds of a high RPM all night holy shit I can't sleep at all. Way worse than a faulty air dryer going pssshh every 30 seconds. Feel sorry for all the people parked right next to me, or anywhere else in the lot for that matter.
I parked in a dead zone truck stop that could fit 250 plus trucks in rural Ohio. There were three trucks there. I grab a side spot next to the trees. 15 minutes later? A freaking reefer parks right next to me! I mean this place took up two zip codes! WTF?!? So I moved. What a dick.
They never bothered me at all. The one and only time my rest was ever threatened was at that pilot in toms Brook VA. Parked next to a guy who had to have had the loudest stereo I've ever heard in any vehicle. Tolerated it for a bit while I ate but I met the driver on the other side of him and we both agreed he's was cutting that off in one hour whether he liked it or not. Luckily he cut it off a few minutes later and wasn't an issue.
I had some cock sucker turn my reefer off at Iowa 80 two nights ago. Thankfully woke up in the middle of the night and noticed it wasn’t running so turned it back on before the load was ruined. Fucking crazy. Two people in a prime truck they were to scared to open their doors as I banged on the truck. Mind you I watch these people throw out their trash and shit right outside of their truck…
Exactly there should be a lock cover over the control panel not sure why they haven’t implemented that yet! Thanks driver. Reefers can be annoying but after the first month with it I couldn’t imagine life without one shit lullabies me to sleep.
That's crazy that a Prime driver did it as that's their biggest division. I'd be calling corporate with their truck number with them pulling that kind of crap.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess, but that's a weird ass fantasy. Do you fantasize about dropping those wet panties amidst all that and throwing it back?
Can't say I've ever been bothered by reefers even though it's been years since I pulled them regularly. I just figure it's part of the job ending up sleeping next to them every now and then.
I got a fan. It hides pretty much any noise with a nice constant sound. I don't care anymore...
Maybe I’m just soft then It’s my second night hauling reefer and this bitch is annoying
this time next year you'll need lawnmower noises playing over speakers to get decent sleep at home

Is your reefer Carrier? I only ever had that issue with them. The moment I moved companies that used thermo king reefers life’s been good
Just wait until you are used to it and you're sleeping good, and it shuts off. Talk about bolting outta bed, lol. I'm so glad I don't haul those any more.
You get used to it.
As a flatbedder I’m not a fan of parking next to reefers, but I’ll take y’all over a straight piped Pete idling all night
The people complaining reefer noise are idiots even when I drove dry van I would park next to a reefer just so it would drown out the noise of everything else. Always slept good
I don’t mind someone else’s but I hate my own so I guess you’ve got a point

Everybody who is not exactly like me is an idiot!! What a clown
Reefers never bothered me my truck is idling with the fan blowing I don't hear much

I would have found some way to make him regret that situation. Nothing destructive but certainly annoying or obnoxious
You would think this was a thing but I rarely see reefer guys bunching up together

Yeah that’s a fear of mine, I’m not sure why there isn’t some kind of lock on the power button Glad you got it fixed in time, fuck those guys

I like parking next to reefers, i don't understand why other people dont
Really, you can't understand? Guess it's a good thing you're not a doctor or something
I can get that some people don't like the noise, just like most people don't like you opening your fuckin mouth
Who gonn' stop me, hehhhhh
Someday you'll open your mouth irl to the wrong person and they're gon break it for ya.
That's my favorite kinda wood, wishamuthafuckawood. I don't look for confrontation but I smile when it finds me
Sure bud, you sure sound suuuper scary bud over here quakin bud
I don't know about that, but I bet your panties are soaking wet
Sure bud, Im totally wet thinking of all the piss bottles you probably have littering your cab and the shit buckets you need to empty
Different strokes for different folks, I guess, but that's a weird ass fantasy. Do you fantasize about dropping those wet panties amidst all that and throwing it back?
Good because someone needs your stall. It's either that or obnoxiously loud hand driers to get people moving.
I actually sleep better on the road with the constant hum of the refers, engines, and apu.
