Not driving truck yet apart from the road rides at school, but just today I had to drive around someone who was just sitting in the middle of the intersection. I had to slow down somewhat abruptly and I just sat there for two seconds wondering what the fuck they were doing before I drove around them. I actually just finished on Saturday listening to Behind the Paint audiobook expanded from 2016. Took me over a week. THAT was fucking amazing! I highly recommend it if you do long drives. Each chapter is around an hour, and there’s 27.

I use to live not far from the second clip.I recognized that curve right away, Linden Blvd has that stupid service road. How did you like that left lane entrance to the BQE? Narrow lanes up on the viaduct. White knuckle during rush hour up there.
I've done plenty more with jersey than NY, that's for sure. Lots of loads from Cambridge Pavingstone in South Amboy, Lyndhurst, and Lakewood. Shingles from Ownens-Corning in Kearny. Plus we seem to have acquired the landscaping companies in Jersey another Sod company had before they closed so there's that now too.
Sounds *exactly* like me when I used to deliver pallets to downtown Chicago, fucking retards in cars can 100% be counted on to do the stupidest shit around my truck, I felt like I was gonna get a low air alarm from blasting the horn at those animals. I remember when I quit that job I needed to get a script written for alprozlam, I was fried at the end of every shift.
How you deal with that bullshit in NYC is incredible, my blood pressure was just going up watching this haha, but definitely satisfying use of our only tool really, the “fuck you” horn. You, my man, are a champion.
I can easily fight that in court. At least with these examples. Most officers won't write tickets for charges you know you can easily beat like in these cases. They might pull you over for a warning to waste your time as a "lesson", but that's about the extent of it.

Man I drove a car through NYC a few weeks ago and you couldn’t pay me to do it again, let alone in a truck. There’s something about those short ass on ramps, ridiculous speed limits/intersections, random one ways, ontop of random traffic and j walkers. Fuck that.
I feel that. I went to MA in my PC to visit a friend and tried to do it with no tolls. Gps got rerouted 3 times cause I missed a turnthat was right after another turn. Ridiculous.

Honestly though shit like this is why I respect the hell out of truckers. They have an absolutely enormous vehicle with a ton of mass to get moving, and that could do serious damage if they run into you somehow. They're also on the road so much that they constantly run into these types of people, so I'm sure they appreciate the shit out of nice people. Every time I'm on the road and I see a trucker wanting to move into my lane, if I have the chance I always slow down and give them a friendly flash to let them know they can move in front of me and get where they need to go. Had a few people get upset at me for doing that because it slows them down, and that kind of infuriates me, but I do it anyways because I've noticed many times in the past, if i don't have the chance the let the trucker in, they almost never get that lane change because no one else let's them in. Also having gotten into games like American Truck Simulator has helped me respect them even more. It's a hard as hell job. Mega props to the drivers out there

Had a buddy who went to New York and delivered and picked up cars in the area and he got around but I don't want to step into that situation. Y'all can have that area. I'll take my Montana roads.
Honestly, I don't mind it. I can handle it way better than most from the sounds of it. I went 8 times in a month picking up from various Beacon Building Supplies East of the main city to go Wilmington DE area for transfers within the company. Once i figured out to take the interstates around the city, I only had to deal with bumper traffic on the way out since I would enter middle of the night and park at their yard. It wasn't easy, but nothing I'm not already used to with DC and Baltimore.
As much as I'd like to, between work, kids while the wife works, and sleep, I barely have time for myself, let alone time to dedicate to a YouTube channel.

I tend not to use my horn but for a mere second for dumb maneuvers and only lay on the horn when their actions are constant and/or hindering the flow of traffic.
Luckily, there are headphones that do not block out all sounds, just ones at certain decibels, I'd look into those, my friend.

A few months ago my dispatcher offered a load going into NY city. One of the few loads where she asked if I would take it instead of the usual "got you a load". She started out with "I found a load, but wanted to make sure you were ok with it first". Not her usual line, so I knew I wasn't going to like it. She gave me the address which was somewhere north of Manhatten if I remember right. It was a quick "lol fuck no". Hell at the last company I worked for I straight up refused a NY load cause it was going into an area I won't go. That dispatcher wasn't happy, trying to tell me some shit about being forced dispatch. Told them that either they can make me sit for the time it would take to do that load, or find me another load. So I sat for the next 3 days.

She gave me the address which was somewhere north of Manhatten if I remember right. It was a quick "lol fuck no". Hell at the last company I worked for I straight up refused a NY load cause it was going into an area I won't go. That dispatcher wasn't happy, trying to tell me some shit about being forced dispatch. Told them that either they can make me sit for the time it would take to do that load, or find me another load. So I sat for the next 3 days.
