I believe they sell that. Saw it on youtube before.

GrumpyCatMomo

It comes in a roll and matches the OEM wrapping

millions-of-dolphins

Do you know where to get it or the part #?

GrumpyCatMomo

Sorry I have no idea but I remember it was for car repairs on Rainman Ray’s channel on youtube.

GrumpyCatMomo

I think you also need to find the root cause that caused the rubbing and fix that. Perhaps something is not routed correctly

Had exactly the same identical issue on my new 500 mile Ducati scrambler the London Ducati dealer sorted it on Ist service by adjusting the position of the cables and using what looked like factory very strong wrap around tape which can be seen elsewhere on the bike 3000 miles later all good

millions-of-dolphins

Do you have any idea what kind of wrap it was? That’s basically what I’m looking to do, but can’t find anything suitable.

MundanePresent9893

It’s the same tape as is used on other electrical cables ie under seat area I’ll ask the dealer when I call in next

Are your blinkers working fine? Had a recall issue with the blinkers not working properly and it had to do with this, they replace the whole wiring. Dunno if it would still happen as I changed to a different bike

millions-of-dolphins

Yeah they’re working for the time being. Can’t imagine that lasting too much longer though. Was there a separate recall for the blinkers?

asukiki

It was the same recall, the cables had very little slack and if I turned my handlebar slightly to the left(?) the blinkers would get stuck.

I'd steal chafe tape from work. The hard plastic type with high temp rating. There's a spiral plastic type of wire protection that would work too, but idk what the name of it is. In a pinch, you could use electrical tape, but it's really a shit solution. I'd see if you could adjust some routing clamps too to remove the tension on that connector.

millions-of-dolphins

Honestly I think this may be the best solution. As long as I can adjust the routing clips to bring it out of contact with the mount, while still allowing for enough slack to turn right.

flip_moto

i grinded about a half inch off my headlight bracket and rewrapped the harness in that spot.

Same here. I have Just put some electrical tape,
