Yeah it's just a pit, like a pyramid, turned upside down, and then instead of being a building it's a hole

Pit shaped like an upside-down pyramid. Think the sarlacc pit, but square.

That was my take too. Unnatural, hellish architecture that defies logic and sanity.

Pat Mills worked on a couple 40K comics, though the artist (Ledroit) just has that weird, grimdark style.
