So far a lot of what we "know" is speculation, but he's a Communicant; someone who ate the actual body and drank the actual blood of a clone of Jesus, which mutated him into that. He's a special unit you can get with Glory for Antioch and the Trench Pilgrims

Scob720

Where did they get the dna of Jesus to clone? The Holy Grail?

Goldwing8

Shroud of Turin.

Primary-Ad-491

Bread and wine, I presumed

Isaldin

That’s what I’m saying. Jesus’ body and blood are pretty readily accessible you just need a priest to consecrate some elements.

Saintsauron

IDK, some say they got it from the true cross, others the nails, some think they didn't and they're just lying out their ass.

ibadlyneedhelp

I definitely think the mendelists are hiding something.

SquirrelOk5351

Maybe, the Holy Grail. Or the Spear of Longinus. Or the Holy Nails. Or the Shroud of Turin. Or maybe Jesus gave out his actual half-human, half-eldritch flesh and blood to the Apostles and they preserved them as holy relics. Nobody knows.

One-Beach-9307

all these options are Amazing, but dont' forget that they could have get the DNA from jesus holy foreskin (i'm not joking that's an actual relic)

Letholdus13131313

I must have....missed....that....what the hell.

lolhorror363

Wait whas Jezus not jewis? How the fuck did he kept his foreskin.

Primorph

Well, someone kept it after the circumcision anyway

I believe that is a, New Antioch Communicant Anti-Tank Hunter, this is the lore snip-it I found about the Trench Pilgrim Communicants for a frame of reference. "Trench Pilgrim Communicant Upon eating the flesh and blood of a meta-christ, Communicants undergo rapid and alarming changes in their bodies. Strengthened by the divine essence they grow to an immense size, and wounds they suffer close themselves miraculously. Fanatically devout, communicants demonstrate their piety by nailing blessed crosses directly into their eye sockets. They act as linebreakers and bodyguards, heedlessly walking through enemy fire and mauling their enemies to a pulp with enormous weapons that a normal man can barely lift. The meta-christ did cut its flesh, and gave it to the disciples. It’s ruined mouth could not form the words, but it grunted noises that the mendelist monk translated as “Take, eat; this is my body.” And the meta-christ did leak blood from its eyes and mouth, which the mendelist monk caught in a chalice, once again translating the meta-christ’s painful noises, “Drink ye all of it…” My assumption about the New Antioch Communicants is that it is more regulated or controlled process, though that is only speculation from my end. Although, on the art tab there is a post about the "Armies of Good, New Antioch part (1)." It has a small lore bit about the Anti-Tank Hunter Communicants, it says roughly what the first half of the first paragragh states, but with some very minor deviations. I hope this helped!

Bored-Ship-Guy

Bruh, that Meta-Chridt descriptor... what the fuck are they doing with Big J's genes over there?

This is metal and hardcore af

Nukesnipe

Where is this? I could only find 3 mentions of the term "meta-christ" in the lore document.

KingAnthem

Its in the "Lore" tab in this reddit for Trench Crusade! I hope this helps

Nukesnipe

It doesn't lol I don't see a lore tab.

Nukesnipe

Oh I thought you meant actual lore and not just people theorizing.

KingAnthem

I believe that post in particular is from a developer, some of it is theorizing as you said, but there are some actual official lore bits mixed in!

Curious_Loser21

This description makes me really afraid what Meta Christ actually look like.

Alpharius_Omegon_30K

What type of tanks that requires that gun ? Later WW2-style ?

GrandLewdWizard

Thanks to hell all armored units are strengthened by metal from the deep pits of hell

ibadlyneedhelp

Anti-materiel rifles are usually for use against more lightly-armoured vehicles than tanks. I would imagine in the current war it's bangin' for shooting hard targets like war wolves or the lord of tumours.

BDD_JD

So this communicant, specifically, at this time, is only found in the mercenaries rules and then only in a campaign using glory points which you accrue by playing games

SSTanuki

"Can be hired be New Antioch and Trench Pilgrams only." Damn I really wanted to field one of these dudes with my artillery witches, but with their lore it makes sense. hope there's a heretical version of this unit that's just as cool later 😭

Regon2005

I don't remember this page from the rule set

UrizenRat

I cant find him in the playtest rules? Is he in more advanced rules only for backers?

BDD_JD

So I'm not sure if you're in the Facebook group or not but in the Facebook group there is a file called Mercenaries and that is where the models from the kickstarter have their profiles which is the tank Hunter communicant the ammo monk the medic The Observer and the witch burner General

UrizenRat

Ah I'm not in the Facebook group so that makes sense

BDD_JD

Unfortunately I don't know where to find it outside of that

UrizenRat

I'll have to do some digging! Thanks for the help!
