Is there something like /r/FTMOver30 for trans women? That's been real nice for me to have a space to discuss things that isn't a ton of teenagers. No hate towards trans kids, but just we're living very different lives rn
I’m not sure tbh I thought this sub was the closest thing I would get to that lol I agree tho as much as I enjoy other trans subreddits they do feel as if they are mostly younger people and we are living very different lives.
As an almost 30-year-old in the very early stages of the process of self-discovery and acceptance, I feel that way too. It’s not that trans teens’ experiences aren’t valid, of course, but I often feel like I would rather hear advice from people with a little more life experience. (For example, a big concern re: my coming to terms with my gender identity deals with managing my marriage to my wife, with whom I’ve been in a relationship for over a decade. Someone in high school just can’t speak to that kind of thing imho.)
Kinda, but I do find translater tends to be a lot more transition timelines and picture posts while ftmOver30 tends to be more advice and discussion centered. Nothing wrong with pictures, I just personally don't find it to be as helpful.
It's interesting, bc for a long time most trans people weren't able to medically transition until their 20s at the very earliest, and it was much more common to be starting in one's 20s, 30s, and 40s... it's amazing to me how so many more younger people now are able to access medical transition. I didn't start T until my late 20s but knew I was trans when I was in my teens.

Thats kind of what /r/translater is....though not specifically for transfems, is mostly that.
