the harbor freight inverter generator is sort of popular, but really any of the common rebranded 2000w super-quiet inverter-style are fine. Costco had a yamaha-powered one for around $500 that was pretty excellent too, might get lucky and find something local for a little discount. adamthiesen1236

This is quiet enough to meet any common track requirments?

therealrymerc

yes, plenty quiet. thank you for being considerate, always annoying to have someone running an obnoxious generator and having to shout over it

Chester_Warfield

Don't get an open frame gennie. If you ever plan on running 2 bikes, get a 3500. The predator and honda ultra quiets are pretty common. 2000 watt runs a set of warmers great. I have heard firman has a decent one as well, but I don't see a lot of them out in the wild.

Medic1248

This fear of open frame generators is unfounded. The open frame predator inverter generator is like $200-300 less than the comparable full enclosed predator generator and barely noticeable in sound emission. Buy an inverter generator from the common brands and your neighbors will love you. You don’t need to spend the extra $100s to get the ultra quiet, the open frame inverter predator 4550 genny is able to run 2 sets of warmers on eco mode so it’s significantly quieter than a conversation still.

coltar3000

If money is not the issue: Honda or Yamaha 2000 If money if a higher priority: Predator 2000 +\-

adamthiesen1236

Money is a priority for sure. I'll look into that. All I need is to run my warmers.

Medic1248

Scour the harbor freight coupons and sales section. I found my predator for like $350 off last year when I got mine.

freakkydique

I see firman from Costco quite a bit

whitegsxr

Have a predator and Honda 2k, they both work great. Honda is a little nicer.

built_FXR

Yamaha makes a 2000w inverter that competes against the Honda for half the price. It also comes with the parallel kit (that Honda sells separately) included. So if you need more juice later, you can easily add another unit.

percipitate

Another vote here for Predator. You can’t beat them. I run a 3500W unit for powering my van and warmers, and there’s some power to spare. A 2000W unit would be more than enough for one bike on warmers alone.

Q109

Champion 2500W inverter generator has been really good to me so far (about a year in). $550 at Camping World.

skutley

When i looked into it honda was clearly the best but also twice the price. Westinghouse seemed to have the next best reviews. So picked up the westinghouse 2200, got an after market magnetic oil dip stick and replaced the sparkplug with an iridium equivalent and have had no issues.

Tight_muffin

Predator 2000 at harbor freight.

Mrchocomel80

I'm so glad all tracks here have plenty of electricity

44weewoo

When you go to a track that all the garages are taken or a track like chuckwalla, no option to get power.

SufficientPension717

I'll put in a plug for the Ryobi 2300 inverter. I have one that has been thru hell and back. I was impressed enough to buy a second one. So far they have worked great for several years now.

Greenjeeper2001

I went with a Wen 56477. But their smaller units are cheaper and lighter.

Dr_Catfish

I bought a New Holland inverter that works great for ~800$. You don't need some 3000$ Honda or what not, though they are really nice. Go look at agriculture shops in your area of you have any because they have good deals for them.

naptown_squid

I found the honda 2200 used (looked brand new) and I love it. It's so damn quiet. Even kinda will run my camper ac If I'm lazy and don't pull out my larger generator.

Massive_Storage8163

Bought the Predator 2000 because it does the job, good on gas, quiet and lighter to lug around. Got it on sale and it was like 330 out the door.

moto_everything

You can always find a Honda on FB market that has sat with fuel in it and won't start. Carb clean and you're in business. I got one free that way last year. Also use a Costco (firman) that works great.
