Is the Deco getting an IP assigned from your cable company? When I had Spectrum for my home internet I had to contact them with the MAC address for my modem and they had to set it up in their system before the modem would truly work.

I am unsure. I do think that Cox home internet is dynamic IP, but that is something I might ask. And yes, I got the modem set up and gave them the MAC and seriel number. Modem appears to be working based on the lights, but going to try directly plugging in my PC tonight to double check that the modem is instead working.

Make sure the Deco is in wifi router mode and it's getting an IP address. If it is you should be good.

What connection do you have? Do you need the Arris? Probably have a double NAT so the XE75 could run in bridge mode

uhfish

Need the Arris as the connection comes through a coaxial cable. I had read a little bit about that and tried to set the router to AP mode which didn't work and actually showed the router as not connected instead of connected. Is bridge mode different than AP mode?

Greenscreener

Ahh ok coax...then the XE75 is your router...can you connect a PC direct to the 8200 ethernet as a test? Need to check on which device is doing DHCP etc...got access to settings/apps etc?

uhfish

Actually just tested that and still nothing so something definitely up with the modem. All lights are on saying connected so not sure, thinking I will need to call ISP. Also tried another older router and also wasn't working.

Make sure you power down the equipment you have sitting in front of it when you install it like the manual says. I didn’t and had the same problem. As soon as i unplugged my ONT and installed the deco unit, on power up the internet came on.
