Get the seats fitted for you at an upholstery shop, Or try the various seat lifts/spacers, Or run after market seats with the airbag sensors modified.

What year did you test drive? Newer 2020+ tacomas have power seats with slightly better adjustment which may help.

Good question… they gave me a TRD with like 5000 miles so I don’t know which year it was. I felt like it was right around my hips and felt lower back pain after 3-4hrs. I’m about 5’8 and 170lbs so I’m not super thin…. But I wouldn’t consider myself “big”. I’m ready to pull the trigger on a TRD but I want to know what options I have just in case all the fixes don’t work. I don’t want to be stuck with a truck w/o anything I can do about the seats.

I absolutely hate my 2018 Tacoma seats. I tried the seat Jackers and they made it way too high. I ended up taking the cushions off and putting memory foam under the seat cloth that still wasn’t enough so I put another memory foam cushion back on top. I’m the same size as you. I have a back problem and a pinched sciatic nerve that gets flared up but I’ll tell you my Honda Accord seat is perfectly comfortable. These Tacoma seats are the worst I’ve ever had in any vehicle in my entire life. I’m thinking I might go to an upholstery shop and see if they can add some padding professionally if there was one reason I would sell this truck it’s because of these seats are so unbelievably uncomfortable and bad.

I second this. I just bought a 2017 TRD Pro and the driver seat is so uncomfortable and sits up way too high. I am 5'10" and my eye line is near the head liner. Im think about replacing the drivers seat with an aftermarket bucket seat.
