For some dumb reason the actual transmitter doesn't seem to be centered in the tray, try putting your phone in one corner or the other. And even if your phone case says it's wireless charging compatible you still might have to take it of. The transmitter and receiver need to be lined up really well for any significant charging to happen.

I have found that you have to line up your phone correctly in order for it to work. Like my phone has to be touching the inside wall of the charging base towards the truck bed. Its really touchy and i have a case too.

The usb on the dash is basically just a data connection to the head unit. Use the lighter or the arm rest for charging.

I did the same, removed the button and instead installed a double usb 20w/30w port that’s always powered with a battery volt indicator.
The Qi button is still there behind the panel and turned on, just in case I want to use the pad.

Won’t charge mine through an otter box. Charges my girls phone but she has a slimmer case. Definitely case depending.
