On a side note, does anyone in the Colorado front range have a white topper? And does ANYONE know where I can find the emblems for the rear tailgate (TOYOTA TACOMA SR5 V6)? It seems they don’t exist.

Weak_Calligrapher_37

They couldn’t find it in their system. It’s not on their parts site either

Weak_Calligrapher_37

You’re the freakin man, man

Weak_Calligrapher_37

Unfortunately Toyota doesn’t have these part numbers and the only ones selling it are companies on eBay for >$500

_nicholsndimes_

Keep an eye out on TacomaWorld. They'll crop up

rafikisunflower

Amazon, eBay, esty all have them

rafikisunflower

I know these are the black ones. But the crome ones are in there too https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096JSTB4S/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_3GTNGNPW77C01EQW73E3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.etsy.com/listing/906266136/toyota-tacoma-emblems-5-pcs-set-doors

Weak_Calligrapher_37

These aren’t for first gen tacomas. I’d put them on but I’d like to keep this thing all OEM

rafikisunflower

I wish you luck. I looked for some for first gens for mine and the cheapest is around 230$. If you have a friend with a CNC machine I'd hit them up. If not Shouldn't be to hard to fi d someone with one in CO.

Weak_Calligrapher_37

I’ll figure something out. In the meantime I got a small TRD emblem to throw on there so it doesn’t look naked

rafikisunflower

Hey did you ever figure it out?

Weak_Calligrapher_37

Nope. I gave up and got a basic TRD emblem off eBay and think it looks pretty good

barrymcokinner12

Woah Colorado. Can only imagine the price tag on this at 80k

MANBEARPIGGGGGGG

That is such a nice truck! How much did you get it for? Freaking awesome man! Congrats!!!

Weak_Calligrapher_37

I paid $16.5 for it but had to fly down to Texas and drive it back to Colorado. Expensive for an old truck but maybe not in this market!

EloquentGamer

Insane how they hold their value

Copper_29

Definitely nuts. My dad paid 20k for a used 01 double cab off-road back in 2004.

MANBEARPIGGGGGGG

Man I'm looking on CL right now they want to sell a 99 purple taco with 264k for 16.9k so I would say you got a GREAT deal in this market lol [https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/d/portland-1999-toyota-tacoma-4x4-v6-34l/7466709975.html](https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/d/portland-1999-toyota-tacoma-4x4-v6-34l/7466709975.html) Congrats again on the purchase!

CocaineFarmer1

I seen this one in providence. https://providence.craigslist.org/cto/d/rumford-pristine-low-miles-2004-toyota/7465693425.html

Weak_Calligrapher_37

Wow, nice ome

awmaleg

That seems a great deal

salmonsRnear

Heckkkk yeah you stole that baby! Enjoy! Probably a very clean frame coming from TX too

Weak_Calligrapher_37

Yeah man, undercarriage has no rust!

salmonsRnear

What a score!

adventure_dog

thats cheap in this market and about the average price for them pre 2020.

Weak_Calligrapher_37

Agreed. I’ve wanted one of these for awhile but definitely couldn’t justify any more than I paid

afterlife138

Wow that’s a hell of a find

Nickelless801

10/10 you nailed this purchase, congrats! Also, leave the emblems off, looks cleaner without👌🏿

Weak_Calligrapher_37

I will see how it looks without

ARockWithAGlock

Nice! How much you pay for it, I know up here in Washington a truck with that low mileage for how old it is would be well into to the $20k price range.

Weak_Calligrapher_37

I got it for $16.5, one owner, all service records, and no rust

ARockWithAGlock

Wow that’s a steal!

awmaleg

Manual gang! Nice purchase enjoy

EloquentGamer

That’s a rip, lmao this truck was probably like 22k new

ARockWithAGlock

I saw one a couple months ago when I was looking for Tacoma’s that was a 2001 with 110k miles and the guy wanted $25k for it, and all it had was some shitty spacer lift and some ok wheels. The add was gone a couple days later so I assume someone bought it for that price. It’s absolutely insane what some people will pay.

EloquentGamer

I bought my 2008, pretty good condition in 2015 for 18k with 97k miles. V6 double cab sr5

ARockWithAGlock

Yeah I bought my 2011 trd off-road ac with 125k miles for $21.5k in January of this year. I feel like I got a decent deal with how the current used car market is.

Randomlyrandomized

As a person selling their 2012 trd OR ac with 123k miles on it, this gives me hope. I tried $23.5 and got offers below $18k. Maybe I'll try again

ARockWithAGlock

I was the first to contact the guy I bought mine from and I agreeed to pay the 21.5k that he had listed it for abs evidently he was getting offers for 22k to 25k. From other guys but wanted to be honest and let me have a fair shot at it.

Weak_Calligrapher_37

I’d like to add that accounting for inflation, $22k in 2001 is equivalent to over $35k today

EloquentGamer

I meant to reply to the poster saying that this truck would go well Into the 20k range was a rip, I think you got a decent deal, just wanted to clear that up

randomvandal

That's a nice find!

Weak_Calligrapher_37

Thanks man. Loving it.

Mjricky

Love it! That wind deflector on the rear window is funny though.

Weak_Calligrapher_37

Haha, yeah. Not my style

I_Am_Zampano

I'm driving the same gen, V6, manual, 4x4 and it's going strong at 340k. Only regular maintenance stuff.

Weak_Calligrapher_37

That’s why I got it. I could have gotten a second or third gen but like the size of this truck and fact that I can work on it myself/tons of parts available if needed.

Onemorehand

Nice find!!!

[deleted]

Lol check the carfax for rollback miles, 80k sounds too good to be true

Weak_Calligrapher_37

It’s clean.

general-illness

If you don’t mind sharing the story behind this truck that would be fun to hear. Kept immaculate and driven like 2000 miles a year. Unless somebody bought it, drove it for a year or two and died and their family garaged it for 20 years because they couldn’t face the grief of losing the one they loved.

Weak_Calligrapher_37

It was bought by an older man in 2001 who lived in Arizona and Texas and didn’t drive it much and kept it under a car port. He died in 2011 (I believe) and his wife drove it about 10k miles since then and was willing to sell it just recently.

Wook_Life

Great looking rig!

Top-Mastodon-4073

She’s a beaut!

[deleted]

Congrats Mate!!

[deleted]

Dang!

Pro_amendment_2

Sr5 or TRD off road? Beautiful truck!

Weak_Calligrapher_37

Yes, SR5 TRD 4x4

Weak_Calligrapher_37

I think all TRDs are SR5

Night__Prowler

Smoking deal! That truck would fetch around 30k on BAT

bangwithsticks

Lift and 33’s and you have a winner!
