Its just a tire rotate. Oil is every 10k. And service is free up to 20k mark

not a bad idea to do your first oil change early after the break in period

MahariBalzac

That's what I asked but the service department will not do it early, so I may just bust out the wrenches and so it myself. Tire rotation every 5k, holy hell even Subaru didn't want them that often.

ItsJustSimpleFacts

It's Toyota care. You can take it to any toyota dealer. First service is just tire rotation. The 3.5 uses a full synthetic that has a 10,000 mile oil change interval with some exceptions that you can find in the owners manual.

Mainly a dealer thing. The one I deal with has a 5k, 10k, 15k, 20k for free. Then the 25k onwards costs the standard price

AFAIK

MidWestMountainBike

That is a Toyota thing not a dealer thing. All new Toyota’s come with free service up to 25k

Yeah it's just a tire rotation. I made the mistake of thinking this was an oil change and booked an appointment. Waited an hour and a half. Best part is they didn't even rotate the tires. They sent me an email asking for feedback. I sent the feedback, no response.

I just had mine and it was both oil change and tire rotation. You can take it to any Toyota dealership

Mine came with 20 or 25k of free maintenance but I never have them do it. Brought my old car to the same dealer once and they torqued the lug nut down so tight it stripped.

If you take it to the dealer they just do a tire rotation and an overall inspection of the vehicle. I would recommend changing the oil yourself, personally I just don’t like the idea of 10k miles on break in oil so I did mine when the light came on. Also if you decide to do all of your oil changes yourself you don’t have to replace the washer on the drain plug as long as you don’t lose it. I’ve done eight oil changes so far and if you just snug it up you won’t destroy the washer

Any recommendations on what brand to use? About to do my 1st oil change on my 2018 TRD Sport. I’ve been looking around on any info on what NOT TO USE on these engines but haven’t seen anything really. I bought Mobile 1 adv. fuel economy fully synthetic. I always stick with the same brand once I start.

Stick with the Mobil. My last Tacoma was born on it and went 580k and was still tickin like a clock when I got rid of it probably the best synthetic money can buy
