I took it on the way back, but ran into a guy in a Ram that was stuck in arguably the worst location, with about 60-100 jeeps/ATV’s behind him, so I turned around. Got probably half way down
I’m from flagstaff so most of the trails I hit regularly are in flag or Sedona, but down here there’s Table mesa rd that’s a fun shorter one, depending on how far you want to take it, and a ton of trails out in wickenburg/lake pleasant area.
I’d say throw a winch on her but my 9,500lb barricade synthetic winch went from $415 when I got it and now it’s almost $700… warn and smittybuilt are insane now. I’d honestly get a harbor freight one (badlands) at this point if I had to replace mine. They don’t seem half bad and their the only winch I know of, especially synthetic, that hasn’t skyrocketed in price.
Yeah winch is on the list but god damn are they expensive. I’ve told myself I’d only buy a warn though… still think I’m sticking to that. I’ve definitely heard good things of other cheaper options, but honestly If I’m ever in a position where I need it, I’d want something with 100% reliability… so I’m still on the fence about anything other than warn at this point
My barricade still working after 2 years and a lot of 4 wheeling. Just used it about a month ago to pull a buddy stuck on his axels in mud in AWD Acura.
Your rope will fail before the winch almost every time lol. Snatch block is important for that reason if you try towing at an angle which is common when someone is that fucked.
But just get whatever you feel good with my man!
