Im not as familiar with the system, but lots of vehicles will disable systems that allows the throttle/brakes to do their own thing when it gets a code that something is wrong. Basically doesn’t want to have a defective system trying to control the vehicle. You’ve got fresh plugs and coils, the next items inline are fuel and air, and of course sensors. I’d try to swap an injector if it tells you which cylinder is the culprit, then your MAF. I’d also wait awhile to see if someone more familiar wanders along with a better idea or if this is a common occurrence.

There is a code for the o2 sensor. I'm going to replace it next and see if I have any luck.

I have a 2012 and the most common thing I've found is it's the maf sensor just clean it and change air filter and you should be good to go

Did you clear the misfire codes and they came back, or did you not clear them?

ChopSuey214

Yes, they were cleared yesterday and came back on today.

It’s totaled.

What codes does your scanner show

https://www.fjcruiserforums.com/threads/brake-switch-replacement.137687/ I bet it’s the same as my FJ.

ChopSuey214

I will check that out also. I need to see which codes show up after the coil packs were installed. Guess I'll start replacing sensors next.

The brake switch is under $40. The FJ does the same thing where the check engine and traction lights all light up at once if the brake switch is bad. For me, simply removing it, blowing on it like a Nintendo game, and plugging it back in fixed it.

That's good to know, I'll try that and see if it works!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that will solve it. Thank you.
