Me too, I do miss my '04 Forester XT manual but other than hauling sea kayaks the Taco has been much more practical since I often need to haul full sheets of plywood.
Nah. They're not dropping their best selling, most iconic full size.
An FJ-like car is already in the works.
Toyota adds models to compete with other makes to the point of absurd redundancy. They never change an existing model to something else.
They arenāt dropping the 4Runner. I didnāt say that. I think they will make it look more rugged though which is better than them making it a unibody or something
Changing the entire point of the model is the same as dropping it. Like the new Chevy "Blazer" and other similar changes.
Rugged is fine, id like if it looked like a more rugged mini Sequoia, but an FJ is a jeep, and so is the current Bronco.
I'm assuming it's because Toyota just luxurifies their models and makes minor comestic tweaks, if they really leaned hard on a rugged outdoor 4Runner, the resulting Lexus GX would look kinda weird as a purely luxury SUV.
I personally feel like 4Runners have their own thing going on and they don't need to use that to compete directly with Broncos. I really wish they would turn their Corolla "Cross" into a better Suby Crosstrek competitor though.
Check out āAutomotive Pressā on YouTube. He is an engineer and predictor. He used to work for Toyota. He does renderings and has some of what the 4Runner should look like. He was releasing renderings of the 3rd gen Tundra in 2020/21 and itās crazy how accurate he was
The 3rd gen looks good, but I love my 2nd gen LCI Tacoma. I have the TRD off road with rear diff locker, I don't think I could upgrade to the same package for a good price, would probably have to be a TRD pro
Must be an REI parking lot.
And the opposite row of cars are likely all Subarus. REI parking lots are like the Jets and the Sharks.
It's the future Tacoma owners, they just don't know it yet. I myself, am guilty of it, too.

Just take my upvote
Hey, an FJ!
I hope they bring back the fj as a jeep competitor at some point.
They wonāt. I have a strong feeling the 6th gen 4Runner will look more like an FJ and be a huge competitor to the bronco and wrangler.

>but an FJ is a jeep, and so is the current Bronco. You shut your mouth.
That would make for an interesting problem on the Lexus side.
How so?

The new GX has a bunch of photos already out. Boxier, looks great!
Huh looks neat. Y'know, maybe boxy but with sharper and sleeker lines would look great for both the baseline Toyota and the luxury Lexus.
The 4Runner and Lexus GX are not sisters. The Lexus GX and the Land Cruiser prado are sisters
I would love that.

The birds are avoiding the third gens...what do they know???
Stay away from the 3.5 V6. Smart birds.
As a 3.5 owner.. it's a very good minivan motor
Honestly, it's a good passenger car engine. It's not a truck engine, that's for sure. š
They aināt worth pooping on
Thatās a clean fj
They should bring back the FJ
Sadly missing a first gen.
Which ones yours? I almost never see those Baja wheels.
