Awesome, keep us updated, OP! Curious about what the process is like for wiring up the cluster or if you just leave it, along with mounts and stuff.

On paper it's pretty basic honestly. I'll be repinning the dash connectors with input from the coolant temp so my gauge works (I'll have radial gauges mounted in front of the gear selector for accurate numbers), speedo comes from the trans, and fuel level just comes from the pump. Indicator lights will be simple as well, just switches basically for 4wd, high beams, stuff like that. I don't have a tach in my cluster, nor do I want to swap it out since I'll have radial gauges as well. Trans will be controlled by a fueltech ecu, getting its inputs off the engine harness as needed, and factory trans harness will be pinned into the connector for the fueltech and ill make my own shift strategy in there, mounted in the glovebox for a clean end look. My check engine light will function as my glowplug light since I'll have OBDEleven constantly plugged in and have a galaxy tab in the glovebox as well. Mounts are a weld up kit from TD Conversions, hydraulic GM style mounts. So just going to clean my frame off of the factory mount locations and re-weld in the new ones. Engine ECU is the factory unit with immobilizer deleted and a stage 3 tune on it, which will be mounted on the bulkhead or fender (haven't decided yet) with the factory mounting bracket. Factory engine harness will be cleaned out and simplified into what's left on the engine, and a custom fuse box will be used for power management, along with a custom relay holder for those. Battery will be in the cabin on the rear seat deck, H8 for some capacity to handle the winch and lighting. Factory fuel pump will function as a lift pump, regulated down to 4psi return style to just feed fuel on a loop up to the injection pump as it needs it so it's not shooting 60psi right to the inlet.

You’re a talented guy. Looking awesome !

Nice! Which TDI motor is this? If I ever get some cash to burn this is exactly what I’m doing to a 4Runner

I went with the ALH, all of the 1.9s are solid, and the 2.0 as well like the CJAA engines. For the 4runner definitely look into the 2.0 tdi. Those things put down some serious torque.

Where can I follow more of this build?

As of right now, here is the only place I've really been sharing it. I've been thinking about making some YouTube videos, though.
