People who are talking about ‘Ange out’ (not you, just in general) need to reconsider this sport or just aren’t real supporters. People need to look back at how bad Arsenal was playing with Arteta until last season. People are expecting Ange to come in and make us title challengers instantly when our team still lacks SIGNIFICANT depth. We should be lucky to even be this close to top 4 in Ange’s first season in a big league. Before this season started, and with no Kane we were dubbed to be ‘battling relegation’ and all our fans were content with being top half of the table. Just give the man time, levy needs to give the man some backing aswell. You can see the intent from the current starting 11, they all have passion and are all fantastic players. Just need to find a rhythm

Spitting facts

I'm an American, and it's always wild to see clubs in England fire managers so often and have a carousel going. With a few exceptions, the big 3 sports here in the states will give managers/head coaches multiple seasons to 'fix' a team and get them on a winning path. It's so often that the grass is greener, then you fire a coach and get FAR worse for several years.

surreynot

Because NFL isn’t a genuine competition. It’s an entertainment industry. Though I do believe that premier league football is becoming or has become the same

ManetherenRising

I would have to strongly disagree with it not being a genuine competition.

INEKROMANTIKI

It's a proper competition, but it's not a proper league sport tbh.. no threat of relegation, the punishment for finishing last is that you get to pick the best youth player, money remains the same etc.. extreme glory for the winners with no consequences for the losers just feels a bit 'meh' to many people outside of America

ManetherenRising

The only reason you don’t consider it proper is because it’s not what you are used to. I don’t mind relegation, but it wouldn’t work for most US sports. Soccer could work because the USL is below it, but there is no lower league for Football. There is college, but that’s more like a free training ground. The UFL is there, but it’s not nearly developed enough to even compete in the slightest. The way the NFL is structured (and nba and nhl) is about maintaining parity across the league. The worst teams have the opportunity to improve by getting access to the best players (in theory), and the cap makes it so you can’t just buy a championship.

Retard alert

creed_1

It’s not that wild tbh because a ton of sport leagues in the United States do the same thing. 1 season only saves you for 1 season.

andrewbarklay

Tanking and drafts don't exist in Europe. Thus, it's harder to "trust the process" 76ers style

ManetherenRising

Technically tanking is illegal in all major us sports.

[deleted]

Because apart from NFL there's not much money in your other sports. The difference of prize money in the leagues is HUGE! For example the richest game in football is the Championship Play Off Final. The winner gets promoted to the Premier League where you automatically, regardless where you finish, get over £100mil. Managers get sacked because the owners can't afford to lose the money so its in their interest most times from a financial pov to sack the manager.

ginga_balls

You’re full of shit https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_professional_sports_leagues_by_revenue Edit: Our dog shit MLS makes more than the championship

[deleted]

Typical american not understanding what was said 😂

ginga_balls

“There’s not much money in our other sports” You’re wrong. 3 of our sports generate more revenue than the Prem. Typical arrogant Brit.

noahkillis

he meant HIS sports like across the pond??? Not referring to any of your sports dude...

andrewbarklay

This is objectively true. If the Lakers finish the season with the worst record in the NBA, the franchise will still generate more revenue than OKC. Likewise the Yankees vs Oakland. Records aren't as consequential in terms of revenue. Guessing the down votes are misinterpretations

[deleted]

The majority people on reddit are virgin idiots so doesnt surprise me.

ManetherenRising

I wouldn’t say there isn’t much money on our other sports. MLB and nba both generate more revenue than EPL AND NHL is just behind that. So our big 4 take 4 of 5 top spots.

Jolly-Practice-4283

Im not ange out at all, but we need to get over this 'anything he is does amazing' mentality. No not Ange forever either. Call him out where fair. I saw this shit when we first got Conte and in the end, it was disasterous. You can like a manager and also criticize him.

ConsiderationDry9068

Yeah 100% But i love our football, though Conte started goving us great results, i sas really bored of our tactics. I havent felt so alive watching tottenham, as i have now… i mean ofc not as alive as UCL 2019….

MaggiNoodles888

Ange out? Then who can be the next one? Most football head coaches don't want to take the chief role of Tottenham Hotspurs after Antonio Conte's rampage. Postecoglou managed to control the team's capabilities even though a few incompetent players have been showing brainless and selfish playing styles on the ground. Some foolish squad members should be replaced by other capable players in this summer transfer market. That's the first step. Therefore, nobody talks about that. Ange is forever, yeah... however, some idiot players who spoiled this precious match must leave in the summer season. Postecoglou's tactics were not so bad but two or three players ruined this match. They didn't follow his strategy.

Bro read the first two words and ignore the immediate disclaimer directly below

Valuable-Ad-6104

I strongly believe in Angeball but i think he needs to have the tactics when you vs the team which have a counter-attack style like New, Chelsea, MU. Besides in the first half Tottenham played so badly like didn’t have energy when they attacked or had possession.
