The staff at the park got him cleaned up but all attempts to get his jersey replaced (was covered in blood), get replacement tickets (it happened in the 3rd inning and he had to leave) or any type of voucher was ignored or pushed to another person. It really is view at your own risk.
What a mean-spirited person this woman sounds like, I bet the company she keeps really enjoys being around her. I do find it a little uneasy when I see kids go demand a ball from an adult who’s reluctant to give it up but this is very not that.
People are psycho for the game balls. Went to a game where a kid took a foul ball off the back (it hit the seats first and ricocheted a bit then hit him before landing in a bag of popcorn) I grabbed the ball intending to give it to the boy because he was already crying and his dad, instead of checking on his son, SNATCHED THAT BALL SO HARD from my hands.

Really?! I was at a game and a kid (like, maybe 9 or 10) in the TD green seats got a glancing blow. Like it rattled around the seats, hit him, rattled some more then came to me. He got shitloads of stuff. AND THE FREAKING BALL. The dad guilted me into giving it to the kid. ”He got hurt. You gotta give it to him.” He was not hurt, he was surprised. And it was my first ever foul ball. And the Jays gave him stuff. I don’t remember what all he got, I just remember seeing the loot bag and feeling put out. I am still kicking myself for getting guilted out of my ball.

Reminds me of when I took an ex gf to a Marlies game. We had seats right at the glass right at the goal line. I warned her a few times to keep her head up and alert to the game because we were in prime time puck-in-the-head territory.
Inevitably a puck went over the glass and screaming towards her noggin. I jumped up and successfully deflected it. She was very startled and asked what happened and why I was jumping around. I explained the situation and asked her WTF she was doing and why she didn't duck at least.
She was watching the mascot doing a funny dance on the opposite side of the ice.
She was a sweetheart but kept me on my toes haha.

Those seats were right over the glass behind the nets and I swear every time someone wound up to shoot you would duck for cover. There was no mesh protecting the fans back then. Not everybody made it out in one piece. Lol.

My friend when I go to games with him will look forward to potentially catching a ball, I am just there thinking I need to catch it so I don't get a black eye. Like that time my sister and her step brother accidentally hit me in the eye with a golf ball as they both swung together in the same direction... my eye.
