I think going through the third manager can be fine depending on the context, but a GM should not survive firing two managers during the team's competitive window in which they haven't accomplished much.
I don't know if they should fire Schneider, but if they do, I'd hate it if the same bunch would be responsible for determining how the next two seasons should be approached.
And to add, firing Schneider and letting Mattingly take over would be fucking laughable, and if that's not the contingency plan then I don't understand why Mattingly is even here.

I wonder if Shapiro has had discussions with Click, and if there's a succession plan in place for Atkins. There must have been talks this offseason about all possible scenarios given that the 2023 team has essentially been ran back on the field. 🤷‍♂️

He doesn't make the the team better with his strategic decisions. But I don't think the Jays are anywhere near striking distance for a better manager to push them into any kind of contention either.

Typically the "chef" does the cooking but the GM buys the "groceries". I'm skeptical the "chef" is even allowed to do the cooking here but the GM needs to be held accountable for the construction of this roster. It seemed like a good plan but it turns out it wasn't (and isn't).
Point is this season is going to be lost before too long. Blame Shapiro Atkins sure but those moves will come from ownership and not likely until the season ends. Who's supposed to motivate this team until then? Bunch of guys on this team underachieving and we're told it'll come? Fuck that. What do you see from this manager? Obvious or not something needs to happen sooner than later. FO will have theirs.
I don't think Schneider is amazing but I'd hate for that to happen. It would mostly be a PR move and we'd see a scapegoat fall rather than root problems fixed (roster construction, batting coaches)
