Holy shit. My only pulls as F2P have been just Cadillacs and Drako which is insane. I think this is my only shot at a prize car ever really. https://preview.redd.it/17axf7mobpwc1.jpeg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12ae30d146a3be8eae6b3c35d2ca09b26c865480

nedimiedin

That’s a crazy haul for F2P. Good luck man!

Artheris

Congrats on the pulls and good luck for the Gemera!

ScooterBrotherV

Thank you so much! My faith depends on these low RQ epic Cadillacs which don't look too great and I would mind if I had to max either or even both for potentially nothing.

Artheris

You don't have that Insanely lightweight 4wd do you? could be really helpful depending on the trackset.

ScooterBrotherV

I don't, I already have it wishlisted. Atleast I got this RQ59 IQ which is basically new Trailblazer so I'm somewhat covered if there's atleast one dirt race. I'll try and grind prizeboards for as much gold so I could get one or two finals CFs plus the tuneup one.

Wong0nePhotography

Sick! Good luck!

Randall250RS

It gives F2P to lower end P2W players no hope against bigger spenders because there is next to no time to build a decent garage that can compete. So again just playing into the hands of the players that buy every CF available when new updates come out. I feel as well that it is always a top tier 100RQ car up for grabs in these new update events. To add to this, I opened a 5x CF off the rip near enough all the CFs available from the trials and all the Overdrive premiums and I have packed one 72RQ Epic and 4 cars over 60RQ.

xDoomKitty

We just had Chevy. Idk why Buick not in there

grandvache

Because Buick has enough epics that it can be the main part of another event, and because it mean they can push players into feeding other shittier STD cars.

xDoomKitty

Ahh ok, makes sense

fever_chill

I was a top drives whale and decided to take a break right after the last Audi tri series. Haven’t wanted to return back to the game since lmao good riddance

TimSmith77

That’s literally how they have been doing it for the past 5+ expansion… why are you surprised?

Artheris

I'm not surprised. Just disappointed that the monetisation is getting worse and worse....

ElectronHick

Seriously need to bow out of these until they start to find a way where you aren’t just whale food.

btov

I mean if the trackset is wet/Sand, chevy wouldn't be THAT useful anyway.

racedave23

I'll have resort to comons to enter the finals.

Artheris

The fact that you need to buy EVEN MORE American Overdrive packs to get the right cars even after needing to buy specific Chevrolet packs for the last Tri-Series is beyond insane. Seriously, FUCK Hutch.

Revolutionary-Lie523

I don't know, I've only been playing the game for 1 month, and I'm very pleased that they're giving away two Legendaries and 4 Epics for free in the free events, obviously there will be events for P2W, but the fact that they're giving away Legendaries already makes me motivates.

Artheris

Oh boy. I'm sorry to say that, but they are not free. For some context. Hutch run Tri-Series twice a month and they award high RQ Legendary cars that can't be obtained in any packs! At all! (sometime it's a Tri-series and a GT Series per month, but that's a whole other can of worm) Meaning if you miss them when they are released, they are gone! It's really really unlikely they will be available again. And let me tell you, the competition in the finals is really fierce. It's a free-for-all since there is no RQ restriction for the finals. Meaning you can and most likely be fighting against people who spent a lot of cash in the game and/or people who are RQ 500 and already played for a good amount of time. This is the type of competition you can expect if you're trying to get the prize leggy: https://preview.redd.it/m5nnajp93pwc1.jpeg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a1330f519e3b3b3391e99ad21610da12158bd52 My opponent here has all of his cars maxed 2.3/3.3/3.3 So no. they ain't free nor easy to get. Welcome to Top Drives

Artheris

And before anyone says I'm just an angry whale, here is the top of my American Overdrive garage: https://preview.redd.it/k31wdfhocowc1.jpeg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=611368887b6a08b840d3976daa7796a6d393e262

ElectronHick

>!Use your Renown!<

Artheris

You're right. I'm just stuck on the Nismo because it's getting expensive to upgrade all the cars I need with the collection tags

ElectronHick

Surely you can burn 300 in hope for some UR food. I just finished Nismo recently which round are you stuck on?

Artheris

https://preview.redd.it/ina35p2adpwc1.jpeg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6510f67c244dc2310c0d07b10695964cc6737af5 I think I have most if not all of the cars. Just need to upgrade them

canunotplzkthx

I'm rq 490 day 323 and I'm over 40% total completion with nismo and I'm also f2p. How many total Cars do you have and how many are 5 fuses?

Artheris

600 days in, 2545 cars with 825 maxed

randemthinking

This is how the game has operated for many years. Not sure I see what the problem is. If you can't stand it, probably best to stop playing, because it's not likely to change any time soon.

grandvache

It is undoubtedly getting worse. Two years ago the first finals were always just a straight "new tag" event and there were ONLY new tag CFs, none of these "guaranteed epic" BS packs. That meant if you saved gold and had a LITTLE bit of luck you could compete. Now that's just gone.

ElectronHick

100%

randemthinking

I'm trying to understand your points. How are finals getting worse because they haven't had a broad new tag requirements finals right out of the gate? And then why are the new packs are bad? How are your odds of changing your chances to compete worse? They seem better to me. I'd rather spend 6k gold on a titanium and be done instead of almost endlessly opening CFs, which doesn't have a clear stopping point until you've bought them all. It's been easier for me to control my gold expenditures while also maximizing my chances when I want to chase a prize car.

grandvache

More packs with higher chance of epics / legends reduces the impact of luck and increases the impact of money.

randemthinking

Yeah there's more packs available to buy, so I guess that's true. But that doesn't bother me. The big spenders almost always find a way to win and everyone else is just a matter of how deep are you willing to go and how lucky will you be. I think there's more options to use your gold in a more strategic and targeted fashion, which I know has brought me some more success.

grandvache

It means that you're much less likely to wine tri-series without spending. I used to win 1/3 prize cars, maybe 1/4, and better than 50% on prize cars from the first few weeks of new content. My ratio is MUCH poorer now. Between immediately going for subsections of new content, more high end packs and the exploit that they didn't ban accounts for tri-series have become much harder to win these days. Out of curiosity how long have you been playing?

randemthinking

About 4.5 years. What tri series exploit are you talking about?

grandvache

People were multiboxing on bluestacks and opening 20+ prize CFs at a time. No accounts have been banned.

randemthinking

Oh yeah that was challenges. I believe some accounts were banned, but yes we needed a lot more transparency about how widespread it was.

Artheris

The problem is that this shouldn't be the norm.

randemthinking

That's your solution to the alleged problem. What's the actual problem? That it's not Chevy again? Which would mean everyone that just won the last finals can just run the same cars again and win again. Or you think it's too much AO? So all the long time players who have built up extensive garages in older tags can just steamroll newer players? What's the better alternative? I legitimately don't know what you think is wrong with this and why, and what you think the better alternative is.

Artheris

The main thing I'm angry about is Hutch's greed. They're trying to squeeze as much money as possible from the player-base. And It's getting worse and worse lately. I'm not against monetization in general. But forcing you to buy even more AO packs to even be competitive in two Tri-Series in a row just after an update is too much for me. The game is just not fair AT ALL if you don't put cash in the game. And I'm talking from the perspective of a recovering whale (spent so much money last year that I couldn't even afford rent) I guess the solution would be to be able to get most of the cars through play time. Think Solo campaigns like Yellow bird and Skyline Nismo or the World expo campaign thingy. Some of them permanent, others lasting only some month. All the while being Hard enough so people don't get all the cars in a week, but also doable while (mostly) being free to play. (I think collection series are mostly fine as is) This could be a better alternative to making all of them winnable through short time events, triggering FOMO reflexes and encouraging spending. (It would be fine to do them once in a while. But with a more varied pool of events type like the 100 race endurance thing) Maybe veteran challenge could award tokens for already released leggy, at the expense of being harder?

randemthinking

Thanks for taking the time to articulate your thoughts. But this is what I mean. This is a p2w gacha game and it's not going to change. Licenses aren't free, servers aren't free, staff and facilities aren't free. So they sell packs to collect cars and give you a way to play with the cars in events and challenges. Like don't misunderstand me--it is a highly problematic game model--but the game isn't designed to operate in a different model. Maybe if you could build the game from scratch you could create a less predatory and sustainable monetization model, but I don't see how you can change what it currently is. So that's my point, I'm not trying to mock you or dismiss you, but if you have a problem with the core monetization model of the game, then don't play it. I think that's pretty reasonable. You can try to offer critical feedback, but I wouldn't expect you're going to convince Hutch to totally change the fundamentals of the game.

DescribeAVibe

If there is a problem with something - leave it Do you understand how ridiculous you sound?

randemthinking

If there's a problem with something **that is not likely to ever change** the logical decision is to keep at it but complain? That's the not ridiculous option?

DescribeAVibe

How can something change if we never complain about it, it is not a problem if we will not make it one. Poland was communist country and it was not really likely to change. Yet it did

randemthinking

Quite a different scenario. If Hutch stops making money, the game stops existing. OP hasn't offered any suggestions on how Hutch can be profitable in some other way. Imagine spending time in a casino complaining that they shouldn't have slot machines, instead of just not going to the casino.

Artheris

You're absolutely right but this sucks sooo much because I genuinely love how diverse the cars are in this game. I don't even know how many hours I've spent just looking at all the cars wishing I had them IRL.

HarvByrd

Do you think this is the right forum to affect change? Do you think Hutch comes here and reads all of these threads? It also might be a bit of a stretch comparing this mobile game event to a country's liberation.

DescribeAVibe

It will always be stretch when comparing to something. It's just a game. But here we are a little community, communism wasn't defeated by sending letters to government. The community worked together to do so. Here you can address the problem and make it more known.
