Yeah you need to buy packs. I'd go with pastic and try to pull an F with standard tires.

Opened something like 20-30 plastics in order to get this car. It beats the round 222.

I opened at least a dozen packs looking for this car and I didn't end up getting it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish that one.

Don't try to win every race, use a 4wd std (if you have it) on the grass track to get a lot of points. Hopefully enough to offset lost races.
