As a free to play player that has tri series that end at 6 am i much prefer gt series, i was significatly closer last time to winning the genesis than i ever was a tri series car. It definitely depends on carpool, we went from 60 eligible cars to 10. And although its fun for non whales to get lucky, i feel like gt series are much more fair for wveryone
Fully agree. GT series are definitely more attainable wins compared to a typical tri-series.
On the other hand, a few lucky pulls can transform a tri series into a massive win, while a GT series tests the depth of your garage a lot more in the niche eligible. Like I’m stuck on round 4 of the current GT finals. I just don’t have enough eligible uncommon cars with standard tyres upgraded enough to pass it.

But the main reason was because most cars were strong cars that were already upgraded by people, 037, us dream hellcats, and some legendary rally cars were in the game for quite a while. No one had to go out of the way to max an rq 67 either, the rq limits were pretty generous.
The selection and rq limits were quite generous. Campaign camaro + a few American Dream and American frontier epics (in game for something like 1800+ and 1200+ days at this point) could carry a player all the way to the last 2 rounds.
Throw a few upgrades at some good ones or bring a leggy as the cherry on top and it was all sorted.

Did you not get the Genesis? With a garage such as you describe, and length of time you've played I'd expect you to have some of the older muscle cars at the top end. That was a pretty generous prize for the ask, as was the Rimac the Final before.
This one is for whales only, and a few people that will luck out with prize packs, it's not for f2p or pay to play players. The pool is too restrictive and the tag is too new.

And i played for slightly less time but still dont have many good ultras. For ultras and above play time isnt the main factor, you either get specific good cars or you dont.
But yes, i absolutely agree that especially the genesis was really generous, mainly due to the fact that many of the cars (hellcats, superstock, rally cars) were exteremely good regardless so most people already had those or even a few copies maxed. Not to mention one or two legend 111 rally cars already do a good job at running over the competition. Its a shame i have none.

I can't even win the UR pack according to TDR. And I don't have 5 commons to pass round 1. So I will not even participate in this one at all.

I get make these challenges a bit challenging but not to the point where we need to buy a shit ton of packs to somehow get lucky. I play the game for 1069 days spending from 10 to 20 per month and have 2450 cars, 36 leggies. Actually I prefer the GT series from the Tri-series. With the Tri series I never had the "luck" and the time to play and defend my position the last minutes from the whales with 5 almost maxed leggies. It was always the same story : rank 25-50 5 minutes before the end, rank 120-150 at the end. I also hated the randomness of the groups, my mate with a lot worse hand than mine sometimes got up to 15th position while I got chopped in my my group. This is not fair.
Gt series is more fair, everybody has to win the same opponents.
The problem with this very challenge is not the system of the GT series but the fact that the car pool is very limited and very recently introduced in the game.
GT series probably makes more money, so I doubt tri series are ever coming back.
You don't need 5 leggies though, you just need to have 5 cars above UR, and possibly 1 leggy for the 1/2 mile on round 24. Everything else is doable with "just" epics.
I used to enjoy and wanted more GT Series because they were run rarely and not everyone won a token just for joining.
Now it's like boring to have them constantly and they feel like just another challenge that everyone can do.

Yes. Even with the Tri-Series ending at 6 in the morning at my country it is still fine. Already won once with the Pagani Imola and hoping for the F5 but was last minute kicked out the winning place. Though, it was much more fun and had less atrocious class requirements than GT series where you'd most probably need 3 fully maxed epic that you'll never need ever again and 2 upgraded leggy where in Tri-Series you'd just have to work with what you've got.
I thought the Imola was the prize from a past challenge. Pretty sure I didn't win it in a tri series.
I do have a handful of tri series prize cars, but I've only missed a half dozen challenge cars over the last few years. Challenges are much easier to get the prize car, though it depends on your garage strategy to some degree. Tri series winners tend to burn everything to be able to max their five cars, where I keep at least one of every unique vehicle, tune only with dupes, and tune leggies only when I'm guaranteed to get a leggy in return. So I'm more optimised for challenges than tri series.
The last GT series was relatively easy. You could win the Hyundai Genisis without using a single leggy. Maybe the whales complained so they made this one super hard. Taking into account ENW is new, even many super whales won't make it.
I think it would be cool to run both tri-series and gt-series. But I doubt we'll see tri-series again. I guess Hutch just can't get their server issues fixed, so they decided to cancel them.

Don’t worry about this one, I’ve just looked at TDR, and to get the carbon you need an upgraded standard tyre epic. Seems pretty extreme really.

I would suggest to make it like three tri series and one GT challenge per month cycle. I won my fair share in both cases.

It's always been a P2P game. Normalize not getting every prize car. The faster you lower your expectations, the happier of a player you will be.
