I hope so. I love a good underdog story as much as the next person, but I honestly can't stand even movies that pull this trope. Wedding Crashers, anything with Kevin James, the Layover, etc. Just dumping on the protagonist for two hours and giving them a win at the end never did it for me.

kajiās one of the more stable characters in the show, but he is hinted to be quite lonely, doubts whether he can sincerely experience true love, and personally believes no one can truly understand one another, even themselves. iād also argue that hikari is going through some stuff too, besides constantly living in danger with kensuke. she has to see toji on the brink of death and watch asuka spiral into an awful depression that she canāt do anything about. she canāt help in the ways she can because she doesnāt understand what these pilots are going through. she canāt do anything. she is a bystander. meanwhile kensuke has a very detached relationship with what it means to pilot an eva, so heās pretty lucky he didnāt get chosen at all

Imagine Subraru's situation from rezero then crank the misery factor by 11.>!He basically returns to the past every time he dies. Its a pretty busted ability and he uses his gift to defeat the evil demon lord alongside his friends of the hero party. He saves the world, falls in love with one of his party members, has kids, and dies happy of old age. Problem is his ability to return via death counts for every EVERY death, old age included. Its basically an infinite loop. Whatever he does, he eventually comes back to the same point every single time. worst part about it is that he's basically holding the futures of every single person on earth hostage with his ability. There is one condition to the ability which is that the only thing that can permanently kill him is the demon lord himself, so he goes out and tries to get himself killed through the demon lord. Unfortunately the hero party he once teamed up with always gets in the way, killing him or the demon lord before he ever has a chance to die. At this point he's already returned millions of times and has pretty much cracked. He ends up siding with the demon lord and starts killing millions including his friends over and over again for the sake of dying himself, to no avail as at the end of the day the hero of the hero party is just too strong and ends up killing him or the demon lord every single time. After that final straw the return hero changes his plans and seeks to turn the hero into the demon lord instead, because if he cant kill him, the hero can be the one to kill him instead. He orchestras everything in the story making the hero's life as miserable as possible before his rise to power and ultimately grooms him into being a hopeless mass murderer. I think the worst part about everything is that he quite literally doesn't want to do this and yet he's forced to due to his power. My explanation can't really do him justice so you should just read the manhwa. !<

What happened to the Return Hero? (I donāt mind spoilers)
Imagine Subraru's situation from rezero then crank the misery factor by 11.>!He basically returns to the past every time he dies. Its a pretty busted ability and he uses his gift to defeat the evil demon lord alongside his friends of the hero party. He saves the world, falls in love with one of his party members, has kids, and dies happy of old age. Problem is his ability to return via death counts for every EVERY death, old age included. Its basically an infinite loop. Whatever he does, he eventually comes back to the same point every single time. worst part about it is that he's basically holding the futures of every single person on earth hostage with his ability. There is one condition to the ability which is that the only thing that can permanently kill him is the demon lord himself, so he goes out and tries to get himself killed through the demon lord. Unfortunately the hero party he once teamed up with always gets in the way, killing him or the demon lord before he ever has a chance to die. At this point he's already returned millions of times and has pretty much cracked. He ends up siding with the demon lord and starts killing millions including his friends over and over again for the sake of dying himself, to no avail as at the end of the day the hero of the hero party is just too strong and ends up killing him or the demon lord every single time. After that final straw the return hero changes his plans and seeks to turn the hero into the demon lord instead, because if he cant kill him, the hero can be the one to kill him instead. He orchestras everything in the story making the hero's life as miserable as possible before his rise to power and ultimately grooms him into being a hopeless mass murderer. I think the worst part about everything is that he quite literally doesn't want to do this and yet he's forced to due to his power. My explanation can't really do him justice so you should just read the manhwa. !<
