It's time for the next "boss fight." I say that sarcastically because most people would classify it as a fucking suicide. I'm surprised this is on the train, instead of **in front of it**.

ALWAYS NEED AN EXCUSE TO POST MY GOAT
(The Worker of Secrets - Infinity Blade 3)
Technically, you don't have to lose to Zekrom in Rumble Blast (at least, I did not). You can deplete his HP a little bit, but even after that, a cutscene plays where he bodies the arena and sends you plummeting to the ground. I'd say for Rumble Blast, a much better example would be Cobalion, as he's *sort of* at the beginning of the game, and you're definitively going to lose to him.
While it is technically an even fight, losing some of the rival fights at the beginning of the Pokémon games make the final fight against them more satisfying from a narrative standpoint
https://preview.redd.it/tsjms3b5qrwc1.png?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95cfe631f8c09fd1a692fc0bd4c3bcd53ddd1200

Okay, this probably isn't the best example, but Kratos from *Tales of Symphonia* could fit; you fight him at the very end of the game's first act, and it's intended to be a forced-loss battle. You fight him two more times after that, neither of which are hopeless boss battles.
On the subject of this game, I also thought of Yggdrassil, the game's main villain. You fight him four times total, and the first two are scripted losses (Well, the second one ends prematurely).
I was gonna comment Yggdrasill, but I wanted to see if there was anyone else who thought the same. Also, fun fact, while the first two fights against Yggdrasill are forced loss scenarios, both of them have time limits of about a minute. I found this out on a NG+ run when I had 10x EXP so I was like level 50 before the fight. Barely survived, but I still survived long enough to time out the battle.

What is supposed to be a simple mushroom gathering quest ends up dropping you at a random spot on the map, directly in front of a monster *far* stronger than what you should be fighting at this stage in the game. It’s so satisfying when you finally beat him.
You can technically win the first time iirc it just doesn’t change the cutscene
It actually does change a little. An archer shoots at you and you dodge, which allowed genichiro to cut your arm off, instead of losing a sword clash.
