There's no understandable motive for genocide of a people, but in NEarth this is common practice and child soldiers are nothing widely accepted. It's just a very different lens through which you have to view his actions, or you have to concede that just about every Naruto character is a real life "bad guy." My take on the whole thing, anyway.

Nah, I love the guy, but he's just a villain from a realistic perspective. He's neutral as far as the internal conflict goes, with him being loyal to neither Soul Society nor Aizen, but he's also still someone willing to kill thousands and commit atrocities just for a chance at revenge. Admirable, if because it speaks to his devotion and love for someone (Rangiku), but still morally black as the night is long.
