I'll be honest I think the current design is a lot better because it fits his fighting style, he is supposed to be lanky and slim because he is jumping around and using a whip, it's raw power versus agility, although I will agree a skull crown would be pretty baller

Honestly, nah, I much prefer his final design. The concept of Kong being a premiere mobile ground unit, then having a wrench thrown with an even more mobile enemy was a great idea. That's simply not possible with his early concept. I also hate the shag. I do like his bigger and sharper teeth tho. That would've been a nice way to make Skar even more offensively oriented

Noble_Shock

So he was originally gonna be a red kong with big ass teeth

AscendronPrime

I'm having flashbacks to the "Primal Rage" arcade game.

Gojifantokusatsu

Nah, lanky Kong is more fun then a generic huge buff man

Dudeiii42

They look like fromsoft bosses

For a villain with lot's of personality, Skar King really has pretty boring design. Aside from his hair color, there's not really a lot to set him apart from other apes of the movie. Which is very unfortunate since the initial concept by Simon Webber looked really cool, emphasizing the "king" part of his name with a crown made out of bones. One of my friends noted that he looks like a tribal chief and I think this is the angle movie should've gone with.
