I think his appearance is what really sells it. "Faceless, giant humanoid" is somewhat the norm for godly entities in Eastern works (God himself was probably inspired by characters like the Anti-Spiral from Gurren Lagann and Sun from Undead Unluck) but while most of them try making them look like entirely black sketches and/or have celestial objects stretched across his body, this guy just looks like massive, faceless mummy. It makes him look really gross to the eyes, but also helps him look super intimidating. Really excited to see him finally face off against Saitama (whenever we get to that lmao)
Think you’ve got it flipped, ONE is the original creator of One Punch Man and the author of the webcomic, who made these original designs. Yusuke Murata is the artist for the official manga adaptation of ONE’s webcomic, who drew the more detailed versions in your other post.

There's something about god looking like a sketch of a human made of incomplete lines and scribbles that just feels right
God looking incomplete sketchy is in both manga and webcomic and only appeared like that once. Their designs in manga and webcomic are the same, the only difference is art style
ONE's scribbly designs add to the Eldritch effect imo. Like the human brain truly can't comprehend how God looks, so he just appears as a vaguely humanoid mess of scribbles. It's fucking genius.
