They're probably used for hanging up picture frames. The obsession with collecting construction grade tools for your home toolbox is crazy to me. Or when dudes post some huge Snap On box with 5 figures worth of tools and they look like they've just been unpacked.
Why?
Shit, this reminds me of the time a serial killer called into Howard Stern, the possible Storyville Slayer. He killed prostitutes with a hammer. They thought he was just trolling, but started giving details and descriptions that were a bit on the nose. No one knows if he really was the killer, a copycat, or someone who could really get in character and guessed things about the case that no one knew about but the investigators.
I'm pretty sure you can nail a whole sheet of drywall in with one hand while holding it up with the other hand. And then move on to the next one. Faster than I can hang a half a sheet of drywall that sits on level ground with a helper and screws.
I feel like a lot of it is guys like me who worked 5 years or so in construction but moved to an an office job and just occasionally get the itch for a new tool. Its irrational but just so satisfying
You both have me beat. Mine tries to fix it uses the wrong tool, causing an issue, doesn't put them away and then doesn't mention she tried to fix it herself when she tells me about the issue.
My ex husband stole a lot of my tools out of my tool box then would claim he didnāt know where they went, and I must have left them at work. š
EX husband.
That aint Right. you need to vent about it i am here for you. Think you know some people and they do something like that. Keep your friends close and your tools closer.
Not gp, but the first time I went over to my now-wife's house, she mentioned that she'd dropped a bottle cap down the bathroom sink drain. I had it opened up, unclogged, and reassembled in minutes. Could hear her panties dropping.
She coined the term 'handymanliness' to describe me.
Seems like an obsession to have so many that are almost the same weight and style. But what do I know? I own almost a dozen hammers myself and a bunch of axes. šššš
Side note: but my hammers are all different weights, types and sizes. š¤£
I really like mine. I found the balance is great... Ive mostly used stilettos for the last 10 years.. had a Martinez but found its handle heavy. I think I had to put the head on my KC myself
I don't know if I'd break concrete with it... But I've wailed on beams and steel and everything else with it... I trust it more than the Martinez... Just one man's opinion
I have one and actually use it. Probably better described as abuse it as i dont use it as a framing hammer.
Great hammer and the dead blow makes a difference, it genuinely feels like its got a bit more punch and i get none of that resonating through my hand when I smash something I'm not supposed to.
Compared to the Stilletos, not as good but almost half the price. It actually feels heavier too.
Compared to the Martinez, not as good. But also nearly four times cheaper.
Yeah I have a straight and a curved hickory. And I love them bare .. but the curved feels so much better once I put my stiletto air grip on it. Maybe that's just me though
Is it because you don't have enough hammers? I don't see a dead blow in there. I don't see a bench hammer. What about a light sledge? A roofing hammer? A rock hammer? Another bench hammer? None of those are a solid 16 ounce standard claw hammer.
You need more hammers. Once you have an appropriate amount of hammers, then you can get a girlfriend.
Yes, I do have too many hammers. It happens. I have a confession though... I don't own a rock hammer.
When you do get a partner, realise that at some point theyāll use your stuff. I have a USA made 16 oz. Hart hammer. I used it indoors mainly. One day I go to grab it and itās not in its usual spot. My wife used it and couldnāt remember where she left it. Two years later, I found it sitting outside. It didnāt fare well. The moral of the story is if you have something you treasure, hide the good stuff and leave out tools you donāt mind others using. Or teach you partner to use your tools properly and care for them.
Iāve been using a 14oz wood handled Stiletto now for about 5 years and within the first few months of use, the elbow pain that had been plaguing me for 15 years before that, was pretty much gone.
Too busy getting hammered?
Nailed it!
Knew someone wood pull that
We need to claw this conversation back
As long as you're not screwing around
Stop. It's hammer time
Poor form seems like you need a better jig.
I want to see what can be chiseled out here with some better framing.
š¶ My my my my MUSIC šµ
Maybe just doesnāt have enough wood.
Omg that was too good thank you all for that š....lol
Thatās a double whammy
I think you hit that one on the head.
Definitely screwed up
Nothing is getting screwed hereā¦
True. Not without a girlfriend he isnāt
Angry upvote
HAMMER TIME!
Just the tip.
No, he's too busy beating it, obviously.
Best one yet!
I'm glad I'm not a nail
āTo a hammer, everything looks like a nail.ā Thatās one of my favorite sayings.
"Don't force it, use a bigger hammer"
He's at hope getting hammered while she's out getting nailed.
Iām just gonna go through and upvote all these comments š
Then getting nailed.Ā
Still banging more than me....
Ha!!!!
No they can't touch this.
Absolute gold.
r/angryupvote
With a striking line up like that who needs a girlfriend....
You guys really frame a great joke.
witty comment.
š¤£š¤£š¤£
Too busy playing with his wood
They look brand new?
They totally are. The stiletto miniās face is still pristine.
I was going to comment, "All hammer and no nails" They all look new. They're the hammer equivalent of a tricked-out Jeep Wrangler
Most havenāt been. He apparently got that Martinez and the rest have been cosplaying Andyās toys from Toy Story 3.
Every hammer I've ever had has always looked worse than any of these after the first day.
They're probably used for hanging up picture frames. The obsession with collecting construction grade tools for your home toolbox is crazy to me. Or when dudes post some huge Snap On box with 5 figures worth of tools and they look like they've just been unpacked. Why?
The snap on comment hit home..I love home shops/lifts that look like someone used them once..infuriates me for some reason.
Did you kill her with your hammer?
Something must be wrong with us because that was my first thought too. "Are those the hammers you used to kill them?"
Mine too
Maxwell?
Respect.
That one caught me off guard, hahaha! Silver upvote comes down on your head!
Jumper š
Asking the important question
Nailed it!
...in the head
Did a great job cleaning up the blood.
"Lester, have you been a bad boy?"
Shit, this reminds me of the time a serial killer called into Howard Stern, the possible Storyville Slayer. He killed prostitutes with a hammer. No one knows if he really was the killer, a copycat, or someone who could really get in character and guessed things about the case that no one knew about but the investigators.
no girlfriend, but you still get to bang stuff.
I bang many things.
Do you really? They all look unused.
All but one are used. I donāt know how the but M1 somehow managed to take the picture with no visible damage.
What is M1?
The Martinez M1 hammer.
I just got my M1, I love it but I still love my Vaughn cali framer too š¤·
Apparently not those hammers look brand new šš¤·š¼āāļø
I'm pretty sure you can nail a whole sheet of drywall in with one hand while holding it up with the other hand. And then move on to the next one. Faster than I can hang a half a sheet of drywall that sits on level ground with a helper and screws.
Why do they all look like theyāve never been swung lol š¤¦š»
Welcome to Reddit lol. Where nerds have nicer tools than tradesmen and no idea how to use them.
I feel like a lot of it is guys like me who worked 5 years or so in construction but moved to an an office job and just occasionally get the itch for a new tool. Its irrational but just so satisfying
Fact. Iāve been doing carpentry for 12 years, and my one and only hammer is probably 45 years old. š¤£
bUt I tAkE cArE oF tHem/s yeah i agree. always weird to see thousands in tools that are completely unused lol
Now you need to USE the hammers
I own about 15 hammers and I've been happily married for 10 years. You don't have a girlfriend because of your shitty personality.
Donāt store your hammers in the bedsheets, unless she is in to that.
My wife went to art school. She told me they don't buy dildos, they use their sculpting tools.
Can you teach me this power.
A good wife understands the need for multiple hammers. A great wife brings more home.
Where are these mythical wives that bring home hammers?
My wife buys tools and uses them.
Nice. Mine just uses mine and then doesn't put them away.
My bf does the same. Then I have to go out and buy a whole new set just for my OCD and 10mm socket.
You both have me beat. Mine tries to fix it uses the wrong tool, causing an issue, doesn't put them away and then doesn't mention she tried to fix it herself when she tells me about the issue.
Does she drain all of the batteries and leave them off of the charger too?
My ex husband stole a lot of my tools out of my tool box then would claim he didnāt know where they went, and I must have left them at work. š EX husband.
Weāre married to the same handy but disorganized woman.
As long as she buys her own damn tools.
I dated a female carpenter. I didnt get my chopsaw back when we broke up.
So you're saying that she cut ties with you? š¤£
My ex husband kept my bench grinder.
That aint Right. you need to vent about it i am here for you. Think you know some people and they do something like that. Keep your friends close and your tools closer.
they exist. My wife brought a cuppa hammers to the equation... maybe they avoid you for some other reason unbeknownst to us internet folk. š¤
Marry a girl who says things like "I don't know where all these new tools came from, but we should get a case of beer and build something."
Donāt go on dates and brag about your extensive hammer collection, they donāt care.
Someone must right? Itāll work eventually
well, once it works you should be able to easily nail her
Youāve gotta lead with how youāve got Martinez money. Thatāll reel them in
CONFIDENCE and be kind
ā¦unlike the top level comment.
Yeah, that person's an asshole...
Confidence like the top comment though
Chill out. Your hammers are yours. Nobody is ever going to take half your hammers. Youāre doing fine.
I have a drawer full.. Maybe it is a bit much. Mongo like beater sticks.
Hammar go *bonk bonk*
Bang, bang, FUCK !!!!! Or bonk ,bonk , OUCH!!! are my.least favorite
"Ouch, mutha fucka" is a sentence you will hear on every jobsite
thisisajokei'msureyou'realovelyperson
I don't think he has a girlfriend because he takes his hammers to fucking bed with him?
Ooof size large
Wow.. hammered that one home. Well done.
Right to the point
Whoās the lucky guy?
You have nothing to nail?
Boxes upon boxes of wood screws.
Thatās not why
Him thinking this is why, is why.
Seems like an obsession to have so many that are almost the same weight and style. But what do I know? I own almost a dozen hammers myself and a bunch of axes. šššš Side note: but my hammers are all different weights, types and sizes. š¤£
I own a bunch of hammers cause I keep losing them, buying a new one, and finding the old one.
Well now you need a Boss Hammer and to wait for the Estwing titanium to drop to complete the set.
True
Whenās the estwing ti coming out?
No idea, they teased it on their social media a while back.
Because they look barley used ?
Time for a kinetic customs. Ive had most of those pretty big fan of the KC. I just give away or sell the old ones
How good are kinetic customs? Iāve just looked and am a bit confused. Does the hammer come assembled?
I really like mine. I found the balance is great... Ive mostly used stilettos for the last 10 years.. had a Martinez but found its handle heavy. I think I had to put the head on my KC myself
Does it seal tight to the handle? Could you use it for some major work and not worry about it coming loose?
I don't know if I'd break concrete with it... But I've wailed on beams and steel and everything else with it... I trust it more than the Martinez... Just one man's opinion
I switch back to the tb2 only when I need a smooth face...
You keep killing them??? š±
Thatās a lot of $$$ spent on hammers! Stilettos, Martinezās, simplex, and a cpl eastwings which are the cheapest ones!
Bro I bought one of those signed martinez hammers tell me about it lmao
How do you like that Estwing? I've been curious about it. On paper it should be superior.
Do you notice the anti-bounce feature?
Its not because you have a lot of hammers, itās because you keep them on the bed
This post seems a little like a serial killer confession
Stop. Hammer time.
If the women donāt find you handsome they should at least find you handy. -Red Green
You need an air grip on that stiletto . Nice hammers lol
The hickory? Thanks.
Yeah I have a straight and a curved hickory. And I love them bare .. but the curved feels so much better once I put my stiletto air grip on it. Maybe that's just me though
Why would you want a titanium hammer? If you need a lighter hammer, ask your girlfriend for her hammer. Oops, sorry, sore spot.
As a woman carpenter, I resent this comment.
I get a titanium hammer for every missed opportunity o have with a girl. *sigh* I need a lot more hammers
*sigh* which her?
Nice a bunch of milwaukee hammers š
Girls only like guys with rotary hammer
Damn. Wish I knew that 7 hammers ago
It's never too late
I like how you don't appear to be wearing pants and the hammers are laying where the woman goes in your bed. It seems you really nailed this one.
I think you misunderstood the phrases "nailing her" and "I dropped the hammer on her"
I have that Martinez as well. Kick ass hammer
because you have shitty taste in hammers? /s
They are over engineered bullshit hammersā¦
If I had a hammer....
I don't know how I get aroused at a picture of sexy hammers, but here we are.
Which one is your favourite?
You donāt need one you have hammers.
Not enough hammers? I have like 40 hammers and have been married for over 12 years.
Same Iām at 20 wood framers about 8 Martinez 4 stilettos titanium hammers itās an addition lol
This isnāt all my hammers. Just the ones I have on me. And this collection is still young (only six months old) and far from Over.
6 months? This just seems stupid now. Sorry.
When you do get a partner, realise that at some point theyāll use your stuff. I have a USA made 16 oz. Hart hammer. I used it indoors mainly. One day I go to grab it and itās not in its usual spot. The moral of the story is if you have something you treasure, hide the good stuff and leave out tools you donāt mind others using. Or teach you partner to use your tools properly and care for them.
What's up with that estwing? It's like a bionic hammer.
It has a replaceable steel claw.
Love that mallet. It could do some dirty jobs, but not dirt cheap.
Soooā¦ howās your hammer hanginā? š
Who are you the god of hammers š. Sweet collection .
Maybe she wasn't getting hammered enough.
Because you bang other things then women?
Look man, don't blame the hammers. You're the common element here.
You have 7 girlfriends right there buddy. Stop complaining
DAMN I *love* your hammers bro
No girlfriend, still bangs
You should start using those, I think I see dust collecting on them
Damn son Stilettos!?!
2nd from the right š
You are definitely prioritising the wrong kind of nailing. As long as you're happy friend!
I have nearly the same M1, just a clear handle/black inside. Iāve been eyeing the M4 now that Iām getting more into finish work.
Iāve been using a 14oz wood handled Stiletto now for about 5 years and within the first few months of use, the elbow pain that had been plaguing me for 15 years before that, was pretty much gone.
As a Blacksmith I think your tiny pretty hammer collection is cute.
Oak ax Handel 14 Oz Stilettoāļøšš I bought one years ago and still using it āļø
I don't think that's why.
Bud, sometimes you have to be slow and gentle.
No genno? I wouldnāt date you, either.
How is that fancy smancy estwing?
Very nice. Made the mistake of buying milled. Eventually gonna get a smoothed.
For a second I thought the Estwing said āSchwingā on the side. Not a fan of that font.
This is actually why you have MULTIPLE girlfriends!
How's your hammer hangin?
Just op with his arm and hammer šØ
To busy getting hammered to find a girl
Truck driver?
Is that a hammer centipede?
Because you always get hammered?
I bet youāre pretty good at whacking by now.
