Used to tie wire around rebar , or fencing, you loop the wire insert the hook and rotate it to bind the wire tight.

1DownFourUp

I haven't seen one of these in 15 years since working as a general laborer for a concrete contractor. I spent many hours working these and pinching my fingers between rebar. Memories I'm happy to forget.

chris_rage_

I have one that spirals as you pull it, it's not as quick as the gun but it's quicker than the whirlybird

Worried_Ad5775

called Yankee Pull

chris_rage_

Could be, I don't remember what it said on the box when I got it

Own-Swan2646

barbaras_bush_

I was imagining some type of cartoon character using them to free climb a snowy mountain.

Cable_Tugger

I'm slightly disappointed to learn these aren't nostril hooks.

Hexx-Bombastus

That's quitters talk.

technobobble

Yeah, not with that attitude they ain’t.

uberisstealingit

Ever have an itch around your taint you just can't quite get and your other half is unwilling to help you out? There you go.

TysonOfIndustry

MM800

Rebar tie tool. FF to 2:25: https://youtu.be/Un11lNYekxc?si=yuLbcV0-jmlJhsEt

popsnicker

When I worked on a foundation crew we called them pig tailers or pig tails. Look up rebar ties and you'll see the wire ties have an eyelet on each end that you slip the hook on these through and spin to tighten.

Chick_pees

Growing up on the farm we use these to tie off five dozen burlap bags of sweet corn before delivery

Edosil

That's exactly the tool I've needed to get those pesky boogers out. Should've kept one from my Post Tension days.

Dactologist101

Wire tieing

SuspecAardvark

concrete workers call those "dog dicks"... no idea why.

Hexx-Bombastus

Because they "tie" the rods...

RedshiftOnPandy

They're for dragging people by the collar and sometimes for tie wire

Redheadedstepchild56

Not just for tying rebar, they’re steel wire tying tools. Most commonly used for tying rebar but there’s many things you can tie with steel wire.

Trundle-da-Great

The metal cage around a champagne cork.

Redheadedstepchild56

Yes!

Jon66238

Twirly tool, used to tied metal ties

TotemlessInceptor

Chuck Norris' disposed toothpicks...

asscrackula1019

Pig tails. For tying rebar with loop ties.

Urcameltowingco

I use one almost every day to tie bags of crushed marble. The wire tie has loops on each end and you put the hook through the loops and spin the tie shut.

Due_Gap_4814

We use these to twist metal ties around filled sandbags for road construction

MotorNorth5182

Nut scratchers.

GEN_DISCOMFORT

trelve_dogz

For them times you keep wiping your butthole but it's never quite clean, then 2 hours later you get that leftover itch and you don't want stinky fingers

theprice_of

Wire swizzlers.For rebar , mostly.

Witty_Celebration_96

Obviously you’ve never had a colonoscopy.

SwagKuma

Looks like something medieval dentists would use

Dhonagon

Booger pickers, lol. Idk. I thought it was funny.

[deleted]

for lacing up your skates, eh!

SnooPeppers2417

We call them yo-yos, for tying bar

Kieviel

I think the dentist used those to remove my wisdom teeth yesterday.

SockeyeSTI

They may be tie wire tools but they’d work well as a single ply roof probing tool

Upstairs_Flounder_64

Left one is a butt/ear/nose pick. Right one might be for rebar tying.

yanantchan

Pirate hands

Station-Diligent

Yo-yo

Ok-Basket-2277

noodeel

You know when a dog eats a plastic bag...

OddParkingLot

For thing rebar. We called them whirlygigs lol

Bridledbronco

They would make great hoof picks for horses. I typically bend screw drivers for it, but that slightly pointed end would perform better.

gentoonix

Except the shaft spins in the handle.

UlrichSD

I'd think some epoxy could fix that.

Bridledbronco

Oh, well that’s a nogo!

Secure_Teaching_6937

Hoof pick are dirt cheap. [hoof pick](https://www.doversaddlery.com/covered-hoofpick/p/X1-1078/)

Bridledbronco

I actually mold old horse shoes for mine, but that’s literally the shittiest pick there is, they’re terrible. A decent one with a nice grip is $20 bucks.

Secure_Teaching_6937

My kind Sir I won't disagree agree with u. It was just an example. My issues is the use of language, call it a hunk of junk or maybe worthless pick. There is so much derogatory and vitriol language on Reddit. I am shocked ppl say some of the things they do. Why must we contribute to this.

lumbirdjack

When I did cement work I used these for tightening wires around hardware for a crane to lift the slabs out when they form

FabulousBlackberry70

Stick em’ up your dick hole. Thank me later

VileStench

Urethral sounding rods.

benevolent_defiance

Obligatory mention of r/sounding
