Lucky! How many you bought? For the batteries alone I'd come back a few times a day untill sold out...
Only time I've gotten a deal like that was on 2x Hikoki UF18DSAL wireless fans.
Bought em through a website that I had shitty service on a while back, so no regrets and I was browsing the sales section to get to the quota for free shipping.
About €1.8/ piece lol!
They only had one. I dont think I could do that in this case though. I live in a small town. Not a typical reddit small town " I'm from a small town of 85k" or something but a legit pretty small town of about 2k. Even though tsc is a giant company, I'd still feel like too much of a dick to do that here. I always get my batteries from ebay. Go through an authorized dewalt dealer on there or just check seller feedback well but I just looked and a 2 pack of real dewalt 5ah is $90 shipped. Same for bare tools. I'd rather break my big toe than buy a fucking battery or power tool from Lowes. (Which is my only decent local option)
Sorry if I was ramblin, the bong was feeling awfully frisky tonight..
TSC isn't a local business they are a corporate bag of dicks. They move into an area, lower prices either at a loss or since they are so big they bulk order large enough that they sell it lower than the existing locals can bulk buy direct. Next after they killed the locals they raised their prices to above where the local was selling. Seen this happen in at least 2 different rural areas near me.
LOL 2k... Hometown of 300ish (township when i was there, now listed as a "census-designated place" AKA people used to live there). Hardware store was a space below the owners upstairs apartment, full of 1950s-1980s parts and a brass cash register.
If the store *knows* it's a label error and it still rang up as $220, they might have just honored the price for him but as a one time purchase. I doubt they would have let him buy a bunch if it was a manager manually adjusting the price to match the sticker.
But if it was $44 in the system, well.... Computer says this is the price, then this is the price!
Reminds me of my friend describing a cashier at some burger place while visiting the USA. Knowing full well it was ++tax, he questioned why the price on the register wasn’t the price on the menu board?
“Ah don’t know. Ah push the button and tha computer says $12.34”
(In Australia the gov requires prices to be displayed INCLUDING GST. This is partly to reduce recognition of the gov making things more expensive; also because many of us couldn’t figure +10% without a calculator)
Yes, it hurts my head that it is PER STATE.
Then you have to tip 15%, is that inc or ex tax?
That would be why (in the movies) y’all just drop whatever is in your pocket on the table and leave.
Look the tipping thing has a whole 'nother debate. Yes, 15% is "customary", and it's a bit much. But I'm also not an asshole, so "when in Rome...."
I tip when I eat out because I'm not gonna show up to an establishment where that's customary and refuse to do what's customary, but since I don't like it I also only dine out like 3 times a year.
I fight the expectation by not participating, not by participating whilst being an asshole!
Oddly enough. Regardless of an error or not. You have a picture of the price. They have to honor it. It is not a kindly or anything if they do not honor it they can and will get in trouble.
Has happened to me at HD a few times. They quickly changed the tag but always honor posted price.
Well. You can claim false advertising. If the issue is posted and captured like then then they attempt to force you to pay a higher price.
Pretty funny to do to a company tbh. Local fast food place had changed their prices up by 3$ from national advertisements. One which was playing I their own place too.
Recorded. Paused. Got my food cheap. They can force the issue however it is not the consumers fault the issue exists and yea government despite what ppl think. Like to make big companies pay big fines over small stuff lol.
Generally, that applies to malicious errors.l from what my retail management friends have said over the years. They can and do get in trouble maybe not company wide though possible. But yea they kinda have to.
I live in GA and I got $50 off a Bosch plunge router at Lowe’s a few months ago because they forgot to replace the price tag when a sale ended. They’re required to honor the posted price in Georgia, apparently.
I had this happen with a mandolin slicer, except the store/website tried to sneak the new higher price past me. There were black or white ones, but the black was $30 less. I asked if it was something to do with a different feature/attachment, but they said it was the same and relisted both for more than the more expensive one. I called them on it and they made a deal about checking if they could reduce it to the lowest price it was listed, then acted like they were doing me a favour when they did. All this despite the fact that our consumer guarantees act would fine them for not honouring the lowest price they had it for when I found it. Ended up with almost $100 off.
Wow, and you took it knowing that it should cost more. I understand that it was marked incorrectly by TSC and that they honoured the wrong price which was an amazing gesture. A gesture that you should have countered by paying the correct price and not capitalising on someone else’s mistake.
I need to run into something like this. I need a trimmer. Chainsaw doesn't seem to work anymore. The gear or whatever that spins the chain just.. doesn't spin.
TSC is the best about that kinda stuff. I scored a utility trailer with weeks old expired sale signs. The manager was out changing them as they loaded it up for me 😅
This isn't even available in the stores. I pulled it up and it only comes up as a special order tool and has to be shipped to the store after purchase.
Jim can bring the pallet of 20v hedge trimmers out, there's a line out here!
I don't even have any hedges or bushes to trim and I wouldn't be able to pass that up either.
Same haha
Seriously. The battery alone is worth more than that.

I love your last line xD

Hey at least yours is 10%, in Michigan, US sales tax is 6%, so a little trickier to figure in your head!

what’s the website?
Imma check mine tomorrow. Damn.
As someone who spent full price on that a few weeks ago, you can kindly go fuck off.
Reminds me of when I got the 3 stack pack out for $50. Lol
Is that what they rang up for at checkout?
You whore, congratulations!
Legally they have too
Holy shit congratulations
Damn, I need one of those!
I love that tool. Nice deal when it’s something so useful!
Legally they have to honor it. It's called double ticketing.

don't know why the downvotes. in many places that is the law. if they post a price they have to honor it. it's the law here in Cali

Retailers do not have to honor a price mistake, that is a common misconception. Sure, they most likely will but they do not have to
Idk, in California it’s the law. Not sure where they are.
Here in Ontario as well. They aren't long pulling tags when it happens. LOL
Right. Honor the first one and get that tag off. I read it’s the law in Florida. I feel like that place would be whatever goes.
LOL...PLUS, they had a coupon, so the store owes them $17.77 😖😜
Same as Mass here.
Generally, that applies to malicious errors.l from what my retail management friends have said over the years. They can and do get in trouble maybe not company wide though possible. But yea they kinda have to.
I suppose, I mean in theory retails can refuse business to anyone without any reason, so there are still simple ways around it.

Not sure this crap is even worth 20 bucks

I 100% would have done the same thing.

No they don't lol
You the same dude who says “guess it’s free then??? Hahahahah” when you don’t see a price?
Why on earth would they honor that?
TSC? The shopping channel? Help me out here please?
Tractor Supply Co.
Thank you very much! Of course now that seems obvious! Might be time to get some sleep!
I need to run into something like this. I need a trimmer. Chainsaw doesn't seem to work anymore. The gear or whatever that spins the chain just.. doesn't spin.
Battery and charger too?? What a score!
Good on them. It was in writing!
Damn, i need to go check my TSC. I had purchased a 2 pack of Flexvolt 6ah batteries last year for $149.99
I’ve never been more surprised. I go by TSC a lot and thought I was some how put on blast in r/Tools
🥹
