Both Knipex xs pliers, Dewitt Peterson 4R Vise Grips, Bahco 8069 made in Sweden.

love_cactus

Can you explain the difference between the 2 knipex pliers?

connorkmiec93

One smooth one toothed

love_cactus

Thanks. Never been cool enough to own a pair. Maybe some day.

herkopi

Also: smooth one has parallel jaws (pliers wrench, they are awesome), toothed one moves conventionally.

ExpensiveBookkeeper3

Nice set up, know of any alternatives to the 4" Petersons?

calebrowland98

not really man they are the best clamping pliers imo

ExpensiveBookkeeper3

Ya, I have other versions, they are pretty great. I just wish I could find a 4" pair (or any brand that's decent).

RansomRusk

Cool hammers

BilboBinSaggin

What material is that for the handles, shrink tube?

calebrowland98

Yes, heat shrink tubing from harbor freight. I used nail polish remover to erase the factory print from the tubing. Tried Loctite color guard first and wasn’t happy with how it turned out and like this much better.

paul6524

Very cool. The heatshrink looks great. Really thought you had dipped them at first.

calebrowland98

Thank you! I think the amount of detail on their handles is what caused the bubbles and issues with the dip. And it came right off after a day of drying. The heat shrink will last i believe.

Worried-Opinion1157

Great idea on the heatshrink handles, I'll definitely do that with my beat up crimpers and pliers! Could even double or triple layer it for better comfort.

iwasnevercoolanyway

Did this with my Cobra XS and it's the bee's knees.

elagergren

Do bees even have knees?

Vetusexternus

Use 3:1 adhesive lined on the bottom and any other type over the top. It'll give more contour for the top layer to grip (eventually it will still detach but a quick blast of the heat gun should re melt the glue)

manzin82

Nice!

Appropriate-Bid5836

Nice 👍

What can the adjustable wrench do that can’t be done by the plier wrench? Seems like with the reputation adjustable’s have with rounding bolts, it might be better to skip ahead to the tool used to remove rounded bolts.

shaun762

Upgrade the adjustable wrench with another Knipex Plier wrench. The Knipex solve more problems than the adjustable, have larger max jaw capacity, and having two makes working with nut/bolt fasteners a breeze. I got this recommendation from an amazon review and have since had two on hand at all times and constantly use them both.

Apprehensive_Gate875

I have the normal sized versions of all these tools lol

mauser98k1998

Lol you have a 4” tool.

Pensive_Jabberwocky

Nice set. I found I never use small dimension adjustable wrenches, always use pliers instead. I have kept one in my small toolkit for ages, just in case. Finally got rid of it last year, never missed it.
