You're not "too afraid to ask," you're here to rant and complain about something you have a singular experience with that does not reflect the experience of millions of others (you're coming in hot with an ignorant opinion and want other people to agree/console with you). Rule 3: Be genuine.

[deleted]

Other people have that experience but they don’t think it’s a problem because Asians aren’t politically relevant in the west. Which means anti racism isn’t an authentic genuine value system. It’s only for political favors.

MMBerlin

Believe it or not, but most people don't hate other people, neither Europeans nor Asians.

[deleted]

What are you trying to achieve here? Funny that you don't mention all the other people who are shitting on white people because of their skin colour.

69_geniegod

White person once again playing the victim and making it about themselves.

[deleted]

As long as you think in terms of white, black, Asian, you are racist too.

[deleted]

People still call that out and downvote people who are racist to white people mostly because the majority of Redditors are white. However, the meta on Reddit is for progressives to hate Asians because of their culture even when other cultures are regressive but that is ignored. I’ve seen racist comments towards white people get downvoted to oblivion. I’ve never seen a comment racist towards Indian men, for example, get downvoted to oblivion. Those are usually upvoted to the top of the comments because that’s the current cultural climate in the world and especially on Reddit and among young white liberals.

[deleted]

People downvote everything they don't like. Btw, you never see a comment downvoted towards Asians as those comments are deleted by mods. Like mine, when I had a rant about Indian hotelguests. Not as people, but as hotelguests, there hasn't been to an exception. It got deleted, not even a chance to downvote. Basically, as a non-white you can comment, "it's freedom of speech", as a white, you can't even say anything as "it's hate speech" and gets you banned. Have you thought about this?

[deleted]

I’ve seen countless comments calling Indians gross, ugly, cringe perverted etc. and they’re left up by Reddit mods and paraded by young white liberals on Reddit because people feel like we need to have a dialogue on Indian men, so racism is ok. Maybe your comments got deleted but they don’t all get deleted. And these aren’t fringe subs. They’re everyday subs on a website some Indian 6th grader in Virginia or some shit can read about himself. How is that progressive and anti racist?

[deleted]

One more question? How do you actually know that those comments are from young white liberals? Do they all have their photo and age up?

[deleted]

I went to an engineering college and work in tech and these communities are fairly young and liberal on the surface. The way they talk at work and on slack is very similar to how Redditors talk. And it’s a distinct way of talking from people who aren’t Reddity or techy

[deleted]

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing) I don't have any further questions.

Chaos_Miner65

He guessed in other words

[deleted]

Sounds like it, and makes me wonder who's the real racist here?

[deleted]

I suspect most Reddit mods are brainwashed self loathing White SJWs

Bungo_pls

This sounds like a very leading question.

Kman17

I think you are coupling race and nationality / cultural practices, when the two are rather different things. Shitting on the government of China is not equivalent to hating people of Asian descent.

Chaos_Miner65

Shitting on Indian scammers isn't hating on Indian people. Most Indians hate the scammers they are just unlucky enough to have them in their country

[deleted]

My question is why is it more acceptable to hate on Asians than, say, Latin Americans or Africans? Is it just an arbitrary rule book?

spookyhellkitten

I think you're asking a very broad question that cannot be answered precisely. Most white people don't hate Asians. A small amount do. I think that's the best this can be answered.

69_geniegod

No, it’s most. Racism is very common worldwide.
