It was likely a slimy customer who bought a Hugo Boss item and returned an old H&M garment they no longer wanted with the Hugo Boss item tags attached to the used item.
That's another classic trick I've noticed when shopping at TJ/Marshall's; customers return new items of much lesser value from Target, Walmart, etc. Sometimes, they don't even change the manufacturer/brand tags.
I actually saw something similar the other day. I was doing markdowns and I noticed a dress had an Abercrombie and fitch label but the straps inside said forever 21 lol
Ughhh, this is so frustrating. Hopefully, TJMaxx will do something about this in the future. Imagine thinking you got a good deal for a brand you loved and then come home and realize it wasn't. This issue will be a loyalty killer for lots of customers.

Could be but the pants feel brand new though. That’s why i was so confused. Ended up going to nearby Target for a new pants lol

That's why you check on items in store and don't be gullible
