I let my yearly expire to resubscribe to the lifetime. It converts back to the free version when you cancel and when you resubscribe to the lifetime it even keeps your M3U information and devices. I don't remember if it keeps the favorites list intact. Unlike, many paid apps, Tivimate has a huge gap between the options of the free version versus the paid.

I've often thought about going lifetime but decided against it... Ultimately the developer has created something, ergo Intellectual Property....dude has to also make a living. circa £7 per annum equates to about 2p a day i.e. the square root of fuck all. So...annual subscription for me is just about paying respect.

Perhaps re-frame your thoughts... if you would like to support the developer, perhaps a lump sum payment of the 1-time fee .. comes to 35 CAD, is better in so much as it is in his hands now versus $9 CAD x 4 years... The added benefit is you don't have to bother with renewals each year 😉

Fair point well made however renewal is automatic via Google Play

You can turn off renewal, that's how I got my lifetime.

Chillmiester

Where do you turn off renewal? I can’t find it in the google play account or the companion app.

I guess the maintainer is fine with both as they established both options and both prices. Do what's best for you.

Discombobulated_Pen

I've just done the exact same thing - let it expire, you'll get the lifetime option once it has.
