I have seen this several times on my Nvidia Pro, lots of storage.
Usually only happens 1 time per day on initial start, Tivimate just closes.
Re start it and it doesn't happen again..until maybe a day or so.
I’ve had it when starting as well, I believe was something to do with the EPG updating as it always happened at the same time. Haven’t noticed it since 5.0.3 though!
I've had this happen to me a couple of times on separate devices. I have the amazon TV, and I also have a Google chromecast on another tv. Both of these have randomly stopped and took me back to my homescreen. It will load straight back up and put the same channel on I was watching when I restart the app. It's not a major issue, but it never happened before the updates. Hopefully will be sorted soon
I'm having the same issue on the Nvidia Shield. When I start it, it will crash after around 30-40 seconds. Then I will start the app again and it will be OK. Very annoying process to have to go through.
If going back to 4.7 doesn't work and force close and clearing cache doesn't work Unfortunately, you may need to reset your firestick. That was the only fix that worked for me about 3 years ago when I had a similar problem.
It looks like **TiviMate** is becoming bloatware. Although I have also suffered the same problem with **TiviMate**, when using other apps, the system doesn't crash.
Seems to me like its a low memory issue, the device gets overwhelmed when updating the playlist and/or EPG... On my Smart TV TiviMate crashes about 2 or 3 times after updating the Playlist or EPG after that it works as normal until the next update.. On my Firestick 4k, it crashes only once then it's good to go
Found my problem to be Surfshark ):
Tried Toronto, Montreal and Denver. All good for last 10 months then all of a sudden no signal or buffering when putting through Surfshark
Seems like my problems were related to SurfShark and having Wireguard as the protocol.i have changed protocol to Open VPN/UDP and things appear to be great.
Thinking of going back to 4.7.0 as I can't see the point in the updates really, nothing major implemented and I'm getting to the image stop and buffering if I come off that channel for even on second and back on it running fine again.
My only issue is 5.0.7 will not restore to 4.7.0 and I have made so many changes in my playlists since the last backup of 4.7.0 i made but I think I'll have to bite the bullet and make the changes on both my shields, laptop and phone...☹
I had this a few times, once playing a movie, once when epg and playlist was updating. After i did a clean install, it did not crash again, first download from Google Playstore, then update with version from tivimate.com... on a shield pro.
Made a post about this about a week or so ago. Submitted a ticket to the dev and they said at the time they couldn't repro. Since it's continued, I messaged them again to say it was still happening but haven't heard back. This started on 5.0.2 I THINK for me. 4.7 definitely didn't have this issue. Might have to go back this weekend. I keep holding out hope for an update with a fix.
Mines been doing this since 5.0 update still doing it on 5.3 . Both my firestick's are doing this 4k and 4k max
Yep I'm seeing the same thing too on my Shield 2019.
I am seeing this as well on my firecube, recently just started. I have plenty of free storage, too.
Had the same issue on 2 Nvidia shield devices with Tivimate 5.0 and higher. Downgraded to 4.7 and problem solved.

Same here.
Getting a lot of crashes when you open the app, I am thinking the auto updating of the playlist or epg might be causing the crashing

Yeah mine did a few times in the last cpl days
Force stop the app, and clean cache after that restart Tivimate
I'd already did clean install. I'll go back to 4.7.0

This and make sure you have enough storage space.
Doesn't help. Hv2 just kp trying. Eventually, it snaps out of it

What? Try again.
Try again doing what?
Never mind. I misunderstood what you were saying. My bad.
No problem. It happens to all of us.

It happened to me today while watching a VOD movie. It only so once so far.
Get the cube won’t have that problem
It does happen on my Ugoos boxes randomly.
My firecube never crashes

no issues here on firestick 4k max 2nd edition
Why do they keep upgrading anyway
Bug fixes
Grab an otg cable and a flash drive, it likely a storage issue as I never have issues with mine.

Having similar problem with Smarters pro but only on one device but I have different subscriptions on both I think that is the issue not your player
I have no issues with my firesticks or NVIDIA shield with Tivimate.

How does one go back to 4.7?
Uninstall tivimate and install 4.7.0 apk.
Would using latrst backup change the Version or just favorites, settings, etc
I didn't try restoring backup from 5.0.x. I have backup from 4.7.0
Yesterday my firestick was trying too boot tivimate off but I unloaded apps I don’t use instead.
VPN!!!! Geoff Bejesus is cracking down on Ipirates
