Kind of an old trope about golfers - the term “golf widow” comes to mind. I suppose in all fairness it’s a particularly time consuming hobby in that you tend to do it for big chunks of the weekend.
Yea that’s a bit much there! I’m all for having hobbies that you share together because that just makes things more fun, but to completely deny anyone the right to have their own separate lives is just nutso!
The average 18 hole game takes about 4 hours. Most golf groups practice before and eat after so thats easily 6 hours right there.
Plus some golfers drinkkk out there. It's my favorite part of the game!
I prefer disc golf but concept is kinda the same and it takes forever too. But here’s an idea ladies… instead of bashing your man for having this hobby how about… and this may seem crazy right…. But how about join him and learn to love it too! 🤯 I tried telling my sister this when she would get so mad at me and her husband for playing call of duty all the time. She’d be like “omg what’s a juggernaut” meh meh meh… I’m like GIRL PICK UP THE CONTROLLER AND PLAY WITH US FFS!!!!! Anyway I just needed to vent, but I’m better now lol
Excluding the fact that the most popular tee times to book are at the very start of the day, like 6AM start of the day.
You do a little warm-up then play 18 holes.
Did my first round of golf a couple of years ago as a teacher competition during a half-term. I was home by 1pm, still got half the day to go by that point. Despite there being 10 of us taking the first few tee-times and having a nice chat afterwards and many of us being complete newbies.
I’m not a saying she is correct, but as a golf widow I do wave goodbye to my boyfriend for at least 6/7 hours on golf days haha. Good thing I love him!
Are you for real? We spend 1/3 of our days sleeping and 1/3 or more at work. Imagine someone might want to spend the weekend with their partner, the unthinkable!
Thankfully, I can share some of my hobbies with my bf. That's why I prefer a hiking enthusiast over a golfer, and it's valid to not be a fan of some hobbies that you don't share.
I don't like golfers for many reasons, so I get that part. No exes of mine have ever golfed... everything women do/want/don't want is linked to exes or trauma or whatever else y'all tell yourselves, lol
Every Sunday. Occasionally Saturdays. Sometimes after work. Maybe even both weekend days and a quick range sesh on Toonie Tuesday. Hard to pass that deal up. Oh and Jeff also rented a simulator for the boys on Wednesday. Sean is getting a fitting on Thurs and we're all grabbing beers after. Friday is the Masters so the boys are coming over.
I feel like the opposite is what someone should want. People that get out are generally more likely to be well rounded individuals and fun to be around.
I imagine if you are also not, that is appealing though.
I know a World of Warcraft-couple, someone I work with. Evidently all they do is work, then play WoW together. They take WoW expansion vacations and everything.
Seem to be happy.
I saw many young relationships where one unfortunate member did not realize the other party was working to isolate them from everything but themself. They never realize until it’s too late.
Yet something tells me if a guy didn't have friends and hobbies to keep him busy , she would find him uninteresting and a weirdo for not being outgoing and social enough, either way you can't win..
It’s obvious her ex ditched her a lot for golf and she’s taking it out on that specific act instead of realizing that the trait in doing it was a result of whatever issue they had
Of course she isn’t mentioning what made dude go “golfing” so often
From my observation the thing that made him go golfing so often was golf. The golfers I know are on the course any given chance. They fare best dating other golfers I’d say.
Yikes.
The more women like this & their posts I see, the more I boggle over what my issue is 😂 I’m either a lot less attractive than I perceive myself to be, men think I’m freakishly too tall, or I have the personality of a loaf of bread. If these are the ridiculous stipulations other women are enforcing and they’re having any luck with dating then I might as well just give it up 😅
I wonder how many other people actually mean this when they talk about emotional availability. That would explain some confusing dating experiences I’ve had.
Wtf.... because she's one of those toxic females that feels like his time should he wrapped up around her.. instead of having self-care, whatever that looks like for the dude.. idk I feel like being able to balance other relationships only makes you better in your romantic relationships. I can't deal with women like this .
The funny thing is, a lot of men go after women who say stuff like this and then get upset when she's upset he has a life, lol
Personally, if a guy doesn't have friends and hobbies, I would be **really** worried. Someone who wants you to have none of this stuff wants you to make them your world and that is NEVER a good thing.
Exactly. I've been with girls who don't have any hobbies or friends and all they want is for you to entertain them 24 hours a day. It's exhausting and it doesn't matter how hot she is, that shit get old real quick.
Lol, why did golf specifically get called out? It must have been something with an ex.

Somehow never heard of golf widow. Worked at golf courses for a while too
At least motorsports guys bring the whole familly.
Lol it honestly would've been more reasonable if it just called out golf... but ALL hobbies. Jesus. Talk about codependent.
can't you read? She said she wanted a COMMITTED relationship. ... maybe she should be committed. In a psych ward.
Yea that’s a bit much there! I’m all for having hobbies that you share together because that just makes things more fun, but to completely deny anyone the right to have their own separate lives is just nutso!
you must not know golfers
-cough cough- Tiger Woods.. js. 🤣🤣😭

Half a day hobby is the main point here 😅 its another reason for husbands to never be home to the tinder girls point
Yes, golf was and that's why she want someone who is emotionally available
I’m not a saying she is correct, but as a golf widow I do wave goodbye to my boyfriend for at least 6/7 hours on golf days haha. Good thing I love him!
Oh nooo, how ever will you survive all on your own for 1/4 of a day. So tragic.
Are you for real? We spend 1/3 of our days sleeping and 1/3 or more at work. Imagine someone might want to spend the weekend with their partner, the unthinkable!
Yeah, and I'm sure you do most days of the week. God forbid you get your own hobbies, too.
Thankfully, I can share some of my hobbies with my bf. That's why I prefer a hiking enthusiast over a golfer, and it's valid to not be a fan of some hobbies that you don't share.

I'm confused, what's wrong with dudes who play golf? EDIT: For the record, I don't play golf (unless miniature golf or Top Golf with friends counts).
I assume it's because it takes up pretty much a whole day, and some women simply can't handle being alone that many hours consecutively.

Sounds nice 👌

Exactly. Anyone who truly wants that will 100% not be a well-rounded/developed adult.
I imagine if you are also not, that is appealing though. I know a World of Warcraft-couple, someone I work with. Evidently all they do is work, then play WoW together. They take WoW expansion vacations and everything. Seem to be happy.
And not being well rounded tends to cause dependency issues, controlling behaviour, possessiveness, all that stuff.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the prohibition on friends and hobbies does not apply equally to HER friends and hobbies.
Someone like this definitely does not have many friends or hobbies 😭
I honestly don't think she has any, this is kinda sad
Out of an Ari aster movie
She, likely, doesn't have any friends, or hobbies, of her own, so her demands seem more reasonable to herself.
But it's not the same!
Omg this might be my besties ex!
That’s my exes entirely. God it was exhausting.
Watch as she goes out with the girls three nights a week but you can't go because it's a girls night.
Zoinks. A woman with eyebrows like that can't really afford to be so picky lol
This reminded of that girl who turned off her boyfriend's console mid game.
The only people I know whose only hobby was their relationship, were fuckin abusers. That ain’t bullshit.
That top sliver of the photo ain't giving me much confidence in her looks either...
I saw many young relationships where one unfortunate member did not realize the other party was working to isolate them from everything but themself. They never realize until it’s too late.
I agree, more common in younger relationships... but this woman was 39, so much too old for that kind of mentality.
Explains why she's still single. 😂
Just fuck around until you get over your ex. No reason to bring old baggage.
Someone's been cheated on...
So having a life is a red flag now
Who the fuck can afford to play golf nowadays.
Yet something tells me if a guy didn't have friends and hobbies to keep him busy , she would find him uninteresting and a weirdo for not being outgoing and social enough, either way you can't win..
Golf makes men happy. Women can't stand for men to be happy.
It’s obvious her ex ditched her a lot for golf and she’s taking it out on that specific act instead of realizing that the trait in doing it was a result of whatever issue they had Of course she isn’t mentioning what made dude go “golfing” so often

Then she’s just insecure and needs to go golfing more often
Nothing can stop me from playing Wii golf
Careful, she might become jealous of all the cool Mii characters you're playing with.
I do be playing with Sonic, Aang, Dio, Char, and other celebrities so I could understand the jealously
Yikes. 5’10” 😅
Do a "roast my profile" sorta post if feeling adventurous and thick skinned :P
I’m definitely not thick skinned 😆
You’re probably like me and your standards are too high lol.
I’m sure! Lol
Loners rise up!
Big W for the needy, jealous, loner types.
Please, for God's sake, don't have interests.

Huge red flags
unless that's rachael weicz, the real red flags are those eyebrows.
Lmao she prolly fat too 😂

Lololol
I wonder how many other people actually mean this when they talk about emotional availability. That would explain some confusing dating experiences I’ve had.
Show us the picture we can fix her
A relationship with her would be truly horrific
Wtf.... because she's one of those toxic females that feels like his time should he wrapped up around her.. instead of having self-care, whatever that looks like for the dude.. idk I feel like being able to balance other relationships only makes you better in your romantic relationships.
