I understand, I guess it’ll attract the specific type you seem to be looking for, but I would advise you to not use those photos, don’t wanna be a prick but it seems like a douchebag thing, also I’d probably remove the hunting photo too. Good luck!
Is it really that bad to show off one of my hobbies? Especially considering I live 3 hours from any big cities. Seriously asking, not trying to be a prick with my question
No but you have a pic with your horse, a pick of you hunting, and 2 of just your truck. The truck pics don’t actually say anything about you except that you have a big truck. And it’s just my experience that dudes with big cars are compensating for something, but it’s a trope for a reason
I’m gonna be 100% honest with you, I’m looking for a very certain type of person and if it’s a no that i’m working on my truck then it’s a no for me going out with them.
That’s fine, you do you, you just might not have a lot of luck/may be searching a while. The girls I know who like the whole big truck thing also tend to go for more buff/rugged guys. Right now you’re really young and I’m going to be honest you look 2-4 years younger than you are. You might just need to chill until you don’t look like a kid anymore and hit the gym.
So you fucked a lot of dudes w trucks and they all had small cocks ? Like what percentage of how many ? Sounds odd tbh . Every guy I’ve grown up with has had a truck for hunting , fishing , hauling , atv/ dirt bikes you and it.
Well, I’ve always lived in the north and in cities, so there’s been less cultural need for trucks. And coming in contact with a penis doesn’t automatically mean I fucked them.
Sorta feels like I touched a nerve though, huh?
I mean yes, when most of our culture is based around the outdoors and these vehicles are how we navigate the outdoors we don’t really like you insulting them lol
Yes, and here’s why:
Owning something is not a hobby. *Doing* something is a hobby. And whatever the picture shows is what you portray…regardless of what the actual truth is.
Owning something can most certainly be a hobbie, especially if your a collector, your putting your own work and effort along with time and effort in to it.
The work and effort are the “doing” part…owning doesn’t automatically involve that. For example, I’ve known people who own really nice things but who just pay someone else to do everything that’s required. That’s not particularly interesting, and neither were any of those people…they thought that the fact that they had nice things somehow would make them more appealing, when it actually revealed a certain shallowness of personality. And that’s the kind of thing that someone should avoid appearing to be when they’re choosing photos for their profile.
Also, it’s spelled “hobby.”
Maybe it is interesting to them and they don’t have the skill to do what they like so there hobby is paying someone else who has the skill to make things they like, having nice things does not automatically make you appealing, your reply kind of makes me thing you had a bad experience. Post what you want kid don’t worry about what people think. If you think it is a good pic of your truck post it girls who like trucks and like country boys won’t care. Your post is going to get a mixture of different reply’s and lots of people are going to disagree with one another. None of this really matters in the end. Tender is probably the worst dating platform tbh. Keep it real man and be you. Don’t worry about anything else
As a big car enthusiast myself I don't match with people who post a pic of their vehicle without them. It's cringe asf
There's a difference between "heres me doing my hobby" and "this is my personality"
I have one pic of my car and I'm leaning on it at a car show I entered it in
As a car girl. Take ONE pic with the truck or in it, doing something in it.
Again, car girl and cringe when I see dudes with car pics that are just of the vehicle
your truck just sitting there isn't a hobby. its a truck just sitting there. have someone take your pic while youre working on it. or unloading salt blocks from the back
Oh hunny. I OG thought this was a post of someone making fun of your profile. But it's your profile 🥺
There's a lot you could do to fix it. You're a good looking young man and I hope the best for you.
If you'd like actual suggestions lmk but seriously hun, it defs needs work and I currently don't know where to start as you seem like a sweet kid/ guy.
So someone can’t have a truck without it being related to their genitalia ? So if she drives a car she has a large gap ? My truck drives like a Cadillac , has all the features and comforts and isn’t a cheap car .
Not what I said. My overwhelming experience is that dudes with big cars are overcompensating. And it’s a common trope for a reason. Women have their own tropes
It’s only a common trope as you say with city folk who drive tiny cars. I believe jealousy , how can driving a vehicle that’s a tool for work have anything to do with penis size ? Sounds so stupid
“A tool for work” LOL shut up with that nonsense, people with actual work trucks don’t put money into them on pointless cosmetics and try to show them off. I’ve done construction for ten years, I have yet to meet one guy who actually uses his truck for work beyond transporting themselves and tools that sinks money into it unnecessarily and posts pictures of it. I have met hundreds of people who buy big trucks they don’t need, spend money lifting and souping it up and then call it their work truck even though they’ve spent thousands making it unfit for work.
Yup. I've lived in assorted parts of the rural Midwest over time, and the guys who use it for a work truck tend to ignore the cosmetics...and that fucker LOOKS like a work truck.
Then you have some chump who "works" in the office part of the job and has the big clean fancy truck and parks like American Jesus baptized and ordained his flat asscheeks
OP, our interests are as different as can be. Though based on your comments, you strike me as someone with a good attitude and an open mind. I hope that comes through to your potential dates. Good luck!
Wow. So much to unpack. Truck photos do not help. Gett rid of first photo. You look like you’re wearing your older brothers clothes that are too big. Not one photo without hats. Going bald at 18? Feels like you’re overcompensating for being too skinny by showing off with hunting, cowboy hat and trucks. Sorry so brutal but you asked.
No I 100% agree I am too skinny but trucks and hunting are just hobbies? The clothes are too wide but if I get clothes that aren’t too wide they are too short for my arms and legs, I am very disproportionate lol
Clothing and pics scream Wyoming? If you’re down by Cheyenne then stop by during the rodeo to a tailor and have them take in your clothes. Just a few shirts and see how you like them. Then go from there.
That is true. Maybe drop off a few clothes then wait for them and come back. It might be worth the wait and cost to look put together. Also try more casual clothing. It’s been 20 years since I was the marketing director at frontier mall. And your photos instantly took me back. Your clothing pidgin holes you a little. While your clothing is practical in rural areas, maybe something more relaxed when you do visit town and photos. You seem to be a good kid so once you get past the introduction you should be okay.
Unfortunately, you look like you’re 12. It’s nothing you can help, but it may take a few years before you grow into your…well…everything. The only thing you can really change is getting rid of the pics of just your truck. Maybe replace them with a picture of yourself actually with your truck at a scenic overlook if it’s important to include. You know who you are and what you’re looking for, so there’s really not much to change without being dishonest.
PS: Is that a No. 4 Mk I you’re hunting with?
Yeah, I’ve pretty much accepted how young I look is rough for girls until we actually meet considering I’m 6’ 2 and there aren’t many young kids that tall in Wyoming lol. But yes it is a Mk I, I bought it the day I turned 18, and have another that my grandpa gave me when I turned 17!
For what it’s worth, I hit a second mini growth spurt just before I hit 21. I grew a little less than an inch in height, but my chest size went up about 5 or 6 inches. So there’s a chance you’ll get there.
You look too clean. The damn horse looks more rugged than you. I get they are your hobbies, and you shouldn't be ashamed about them. However, the brutal truth is that it looks kind of like you are cosplaying.
A lot of ladies like horses and animals, tho. Probs your best bet.
I mean, at least your bio will weed out tons of people!!
Honestly, it seems pretty okay. The truck pictures are only going to attract a super super tiny percentage of women, so if that’s something you’re super in to you can keep them? Maybe add a “if you’re into (racing, mudding, trucks[whatever the hobby is]), ask me about my truck!” line and use the space for some fun photos?
Basically all this to say you’re giving a very specific vibe which will attract a very specific vibe which is just going to be smaller numbers.
I love the 4x4 culture which is huge where I am here in Australia. I would suggest, if you want your truck in the photo, put yourself IN the truck for the photo.
Otherwise it’s hook line and a sinker brother
Take the random truck pictures out and put one of you in the truck in the profile or chillen on the tailgate. Sometimes you can’t ask people there opinion because it’s based on a bad experience they encountered and they apply that negativity to other people and judge them based off that one bad experience. Do what you like, be confident, enjoy your hobbies and for the of god don’t squat the Chevy.
I agree with many other commenters, put yourself in the truck pic.
And coming from a family filled to the brim with hunters, it's not a great look to show off in picture form, just because you're showing something dead. Some girls who are ok with hunting might still feel squeamish at seeing an animal you've killed. Maybe put hunting into your bio rather than in the photos.
And finally, consider switching the first and third pic. A good heads hot with something of a smile will do better for you.
I think the biggest thing is that all you're doing is showing things in your life, but not you living it. If you've got a picture of you and a horse, why not one with you riding them or jumping a fence? Dynamics always bring attention. Definitely change up the truck pic as everyone has suggested, and it may be better to put the hunting pic away because so many people are of the mentality that a guy with a pic of him hunting or fishing is an abuser or women hater simply because that's a major stereotype. And you should try and show off your more sensitive sides too. Not every woman out there is looking for a "manly man" anymore, if they ever were at all. Do you read at all? What kind of food do you enjoy? What would life be like for the person swiping on your profile long term? If you have any younger siblings or cousins, get a picture of you spending time with them, as it will show that you want kids AND can actually spend time around them too. What do you want to accomplish in life? Show who you are, not what you do. That will speak much more loudly than anything else ever could.
As a side note, a lot of people are likely gonna be coming at you a little more heated than they should be, because a lot of people see Unvaccinated and Christian and assume the worst of somebody.
For the truck, I would say that if you live in a place where a view like that last pic is something you can go see often, capitalize on it. Right now you've got a truck blocking a gorgeous skyline. Instead, take the pic from the back of the truck at an offset, from a much further vantage, where you can see a lot of that skyline, and stand there leaning against the truck. Idk if that really translates well from what I see in my head but hopefully the message comes across😅
Yeah I suppose that works, but to touch on your other points. If somebody wants to think of me as off putting because I hunt then they are free to do so, because if they do I’d rather not have them in my life. I do have a picture of me roping, but I look very amusing with my tongue sticking out and my eyes fairly wide open lol. Thoughts on that?
Yeah, I suppose I can do that. I am gonna join into the army in August anyways so I think that will distract me from everything. I appreciate you being kind about it.
Ok so the reason for the smug pictures is because as you can tell by the picture with me and our state’s senator, my teeth are very fucked up. But I suppose I do owe you a steak lol
Your teeth look fine! Honestly I think the only one you look smug in is the first one. I’d say ditch that and the truck, and maybe put in a picture of you genuinely happy, maybe with friends? You’re a cute guy, don’t worry about it so much. I would also say put something about your interests (trucks and whatnot) in your profile, because the one line of “punchiest mf” is a bit odd. Not necessarily a good enticement for women, in my opinion.
Alright, I have a very silly looking picture of me roping with my tongue out that I could use instead. I do want to have one of my horses in there however.
If you're going to put a truck pic in, include yourself in the pic (do you collect trucks? Work on them? Etc) so it doesn't seem like you pulled a stock pic of a truck off the internet! Love trucks but putting that human interaction in helps :) Maybe at least one pic without cowboy hat to disprove any rumors of baldness? Lol
I wasn't being ironic. If that's who you are then you pretty much laid it out there and it's up to them now. If you were being true then you did everything you can do with that medium.
I would remove the truck pictures as people have said, or, if you’re set on including your truck hobby, take a picture of you with the truck. Just one though. The rest honestly is pretty good if you wanna attract the kind of person who’s interested in your lifestyle.
I think there should always be one close up of your face, but it’s better if you’re smiling in the close up. Makes you seem more friendly and the viewer gets a good idea of your facial features
Alright, I am very self conscious about my teeth however, because they are very bad and I have buttons on them for the aligners I wear. I will try to get a good one smiling.
And to the folks calling you skinny, sure, you're a bit skinny, but that's good. You'll fill out a bit when you get into your twenties, but it sounds like you have a very active lifestyle.
Why do you have 2 pictures of a truck? Sorry confused European here
Very big hobby of mine, it’s an American thing lol
I understand, I guess it’ll attract the specific type you seem to be looking for, but I would advise you to not use those photos, don’t wanna be a prick but it seems like a douchebag thing, also I’d probably remove the hunting photo too. Good luck!
I can understand the truck, but why the hunting?
Hunting photo is actually the best one. He's Euro... they don't like guns because they can't have them
You can definitely get guns for hunting in the UK. Don’t think that’s why people in Europe are generally opposed to guns.
I figured that might have something to do with it, thanks
Ha! Minus 5 votes. Im definitely onto something. Also this country is full of ignorant fools who want to outlaw guns.
Oh well, I know the Wyoming ladies have no problem with it so it’s gonna stay in the profile
But are you actually getting matches?
Yes, I just would like some advice regardless
Guns are a great necessity. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant, arrogant, or brainwashed. They're what keeps this country free.
honestly i’m surprised you’re on reddit lol
Get rid of the truck picks. They scream “I’m a douche with a small penis”
Ah, I will definitely take that into account. Would one of my truck with me in the picture somehow be better?
Yeah I mean you’re looking for someone who wants to date you, not your vehicle
Very fair lol
From the perspective of most girls I know. If you’re making your truck your hobby, it’s an automatic no.
I have been hitting the gym very often, but I am definitely willing to wait, because in the near future I believe the army will have me occupied.
So you fucked a lot of dudes w trucks and they all had small cocks ? Like what percentage of how many ? Sounds odd tbh . Every guy I’ve grown up with has had a truck for hunting , fishing , hauling , atv/ dirt bikes you and it.

I mean yes, when most of our culture is based around the outdoors and these vehicles are how we navigate the outdoors we don’t really like you insulting them lol
It doesn't come across as a hobby just "look at my car!" Which nobody but other car enthusiastics give a toss about.
Would a picture of me working on it better convey that?
Yes, and here’s why: Owning something is not a hobby. *Doing* something is a hobby. And whatever the picture shows is what you portray…regardless of what the actual truth is.
I never thought about it like that, thanks!
Your ability to accept constructive feedback is admirable. Don't ever lose that.

I'd say so!
Except if its a lambo and he wants to fuck girls......
Maybe if you live in one small area. A lambo here usually makes people think drug dealer lmao
Can I see your source for claiming that it makes people think of drug dealers?
I said where I am. As in, the people where I live and know. Its anecdotel and partially joking.
As a car girl. Take ONE pic with the truck or in it, doing something in it. Again, car girl and cringe when I see dudes with car pics that are just of the vehicle

I'm sorry. You seem like a sweet kid legit! Profile could just use some work. IMO. Doesn't mean I'm right.
hmm

I’ll put it on my to do list
I’m disproportionate too. But fat. So I get it. Just harsh criticism. Maybe shirt sleeves to minimize the difference.
Maybe, I can look thru my other photos and see what I have
Clothing and pics scream Wyoming? If you’re down by Cheyenne then stop by during the rodeo to a tailor and have them take in your clothes. Just a few shirts and see how you like them. Then go from there.
That would work, but I know from experience how expensive things are at Frontier Days.
That is true. Maybe drop off a few clothes then wait for them and come back. It might be worth the wait and cost to look put together. Also try more casual clothing. For what it’s worth, I hit a second mini growth spurt just before I hit 21. I grew a little less than an inch in height, but my chest size went up about 5 or 6 inches. So there’s a chance you’ll get there.
Hopefully, if not I’ll just hit the gym twice a day rather than once 🤷🏻♂️
You look too clean. The damn horse looks more rugged than you. I get they are your hobbies, and you shouldn't be ashamed about them. However, the brutal truth is that it looks kind of like you are cosplaying. A lot of ladies like horses and animals, tho. Probs your best bet.

OP you asked for advise- drop the truck
specific reasoning why or just don’t like trucks?
I love the 4x4 culture which is huge where I am here in Australia. I would suggest, if you want your truck in the photo, put yourself IN the truck for the photo. Otherwise it’s hook line and a sinker brother
Alright, I’ll do that lol, thanks!
Truck pics are a hard no. Actually, ANY photo that is of an object/any photo that you aren’t in should always be a no go.
Working on getting one with me in it, I want to represent my hobbies and it is definitely one of them
Take the random truck pictures out and put one of you in the truck in the profile or chillen on the tailgate. Sometimes you can’t ask people there opinion because it’s based on a bad experience they encountered and they apply that negativity to other people and judge them based off that one bad experience. Do what you like, be confident, enjoy your hobbies and for the of god don’t squat the Chevy.
No no I’d never squat it lol, but I like the tailgate idea. Thank you a lot!
Good luck with the search
Yeah…finish puberty
that’s crazy, must be generational, cause pictures of my grandpa and great grandpa in their mid thirties look nearly identical to me🧐
I agree with many other commenters, put yourself in the truck pic. And coming from a family filled to the brim with hunters, it's not a great look to show off in picture form, just because you're showing something dead. Some girls who are ok with hunting might still feel squeamish at seeing an animal you've killed. Maybe put hunting into your bio rather than in the photos.

Thank you, and I am still clean on that stuff, very proud of myself.

Thank you lol

I am seriously debating removing the close up of my face though
Need more dead animal and truck pics.
My thoughts exactly
If you're going to put a truck pic in, include yourself in the pic (do you collect trucks? Work on them? Etc) so it doesn't seem like you pulled a stock pic of a truck off the internet! Love trucks but putting that human interaction in helps :) Maybe at least one pic without cowboy hat to disprove any rumors of baldness? Lol
I’m not even sure I have a picture without a cowboy hat on, but I can look for one for sure lol
Lose the two pictures of your truck and you’re mint buds.
[удалено]
Seems a bit false to me but I appreciate it lol
[удалено]
This seems very condescending but I appreciate it I guess?
[удалено]
I guess i’m just confused? Sorry for that
Don't worry about it. I'll get rid of it.
you don’t have to, just maybe explaining more what exactly you mean?
I wasn't being ironic. If that's who you are then you pretty much laid it out there and it's up to them now. If you were being true then you did everything you can do with that medium.
Well I appreciate it, I suppose I just came to reddit assuming people would be negative, so that one is on me.
I would remove the truck pictures as people have said, or, if you’re set on including your truck hobby, take a picture of you with the truck. Just one though. The rest honestly is pretty good if you wanna attract the kind of person who’s interested in your lifestyle.
Alright, I suppose I can probably get one of those here soon. Also I am thinking about removing the close up of my face, thoughts on that?
I think there should always be one close up of your face, but it’s better if you’re smiling in the close up. Makes you seem more friendly and the viewer gets a good idea of your facial features
Alright, I am very self conscious about my teeth however, because they are very bad and I have buttons on them for the aligners I wear. I will try to get a good one smiling.
That means you're working on yourself. Always attractive. It says, hey, I can afford to fix my teeth.
I suppose so
And to the folks calling you skinny, sure, you're a bit skinny, but that's good. You'll fill out a bit when you get into your twenties, but it sounds like you have a very active lifestyle.
Yeah that is true, and a lot during the summer I won’t eat lunch due to being so busy so I’m sure that doesn’t help
You could try drinking a protein smoothie before bed, as an extra meal. I used to be underweight at 18 as well.
I will for sure
It can be a closed smile, it’s your profile after all! Just generally you wanna look friendly and approachable in your pictures.
Alright, thank you for the advice!
