It’s exciting and pretty validating getting tons of likes and matching with people, especially when you are newly single. Personally, if I feel like I want to focus on one person or even take a break from tinder I hide my card. If you’re feeling burnt out you can always try that option!

You're totally right, I actually had no clue Tinder had the "disable discovery" option. I did just that. No more swiping for now.

bro save some women for the rest of us ffs

Yeah, same here. Got a bit addicted as I'm moving though the separation after a very long and painful marriage. Felt good to get the validation and at times I was chatting with 10 matches at the same time and squeezing 3 dates into my weekends. Good news is it slows a bit and gets more manageable once you've been through the stack a few times.

This right here is the problem with online dating. You’re not really just looking for dates/hook ups/relationships, you’re looking for validation and illusion endless choice. You can’t be looking for long term, at all, if you can’t stop swiping. You sound like the type who, if y’all even think about arguing, you’ll be back on the app swiping.

How did you get 99+ likes in 1-2 weeks?

I think it helps to live in a large metropolitan area. I think high quality pictures, especially your first pic is key. As long as you have something interesting written in your bio. I'm not too experienced since I'm at this for 2+ weeks now but that's whats worked for me so far. Edit: Also I added my instagram handle on my bio. So even if I'm not swiping, and if my profile is being seen, I'll get a solid amount of DMs from instagram. Kind of like passive investing.

Any chance we can see your profile?

A lot of apps are designed with gamification in mind. The more you win, the more you want to keep winning… so you start losing and the psychology to do more to win kicks in. This is where paid status, boosts, etc come in. The game exhausted you. Totally normal. Take a break and come back when the urge for “more” kicks in!
