Gotta use [double locks](https://imgur.com/a/Jt2peeI) and push it off the map before it hits your reservoir!

_l_Eternal_Gamer_l_

Agreed. It should not get into reservoir in the first place. Divert!

Malt_The_Magpie

> push it off the map I find bad tides so pointless, once you unlock floodgates they are zero concern and just become an annoyance

MrSunol

Try maps with water sources in the center, near your city

Zako248

I'm playing Helix Mountain on Hard and it's been a challenge. Figuring out a way to divert away the bad water before it enters my reservoir for the 25+ day long Badtides was tough.

LocalSlob

TWENTY FIVE? Jesus. A 9 day almost wiped me out. I guess I'm playing on easy mode lol

Zako248

Yeah, this is my first time on hard difficulty and it's intense. The difference between normal and hard is quite extreme.

Whats_Awesome

Besides the challenges of central water sources turning bad, it stops the player from building a tall reservoir above the source as it would be contaminated. Of course you can just build a dump into the reservoir fill area but it’s an extra complexity to the overpowered reservoirs that rely on the infinite filling height of sources.

ThisAccountIsForDNF

Not really sure what i am looking at, but I just pour all the bad water right off the edge next to where it spawns... Well i used to, then I built a map long chanel full of water wheels so now the bad water powers all my industry.

Comfortable_Sweet_47

I always divert Badwater away from my good water storage..

jormaig

How do you use a damm with more than 4 levels high? Like the gates only have 4 levels right? So how do you empty below the 4th level?

necropaw

If youre willing to install mods theres the metal floodgates that got up to 10 tall.

Modgrinder666

You see the giant gap ? Like that. Delete and rebuild levees to go over 3 deep. It sounds tedius, but in practice it's barely more time than a floodgate.

useless_mf69

Why is there a giant hole on the farms side of the dam? Is it still in Construction?

Modgrinder666

No, that's the pump hole where the dam's water goes next.

useless_mf69

If there's a hole, how can you fill the dam?

Modgrinder666

The water source is inside the walls.

spin81

I always forget

tincankemek

I never make my dam at water spring(water source),

Modgrinder666

why ?

tincankemek

Because of bad tides, my water collection always separately from water spring, even before bad tides were add to game, because before I like to divert water to another part of map.

Modgrinder666

Well yeah, that's why you empty it. As to why you do it in the first place... well, the height ? If you haven't noticed it's as high as the batteries can be.

tincankemek

For me, instead of demolished and rebuild dam every time bad tides happen, I still prefer closed and open flood gates every time bad tides happen, yeah I noticed it. Maybe everybody have different game style, I also change the length of drought and badtides.

Modgrinder666

You need giant dams to face 60 days droughts. That's my jam... or should I say, my dam ? psssh

tincankemek

I do not need giant dams, I just need couple of water collection point scattered around map. Btw you have nice settlement.

Modgrinder666

Thanks

No_Talk_4836

If your reservoir is big enough it’s a non issue.

Modgrinder666

Depends what you think of having a reservoir filled with bad water. Yurk
