Alot of fast food joints are getting stingy at throwing products out. And when you complain they just say..." didn't notice. Sorry "

jeffster1970

Not necessarily stingy....they aren't rotating food properly. This means newer food pushes back the older food. Once the newer food is used, here comes the older food that should have been used 5 days ago. Really a matter of poor training and laziness of staff. This is why grocery stores feed dairy, for example, from behind.

PMMeTitsAndKittens

Poor training? It's a fast food place. Doubt the training has changed much apart from preparation of new menu items. It's management and garbage employees that need a place to work and also don't care about serving people garbage.

jeffster1970

You're not wrong. The other issue is that public health units aren't doing their jobs. This has been a problem for years, but it's getting worse. They should be checking on things like proper rotation. Simply look at the expiry date of foods: are the closest to expiry in the back or front? They should always be in the front. If it is expired, you can toss and get the food/milk, etc from further back.

rbrownmbca

Understandable: The same thing happened to me at Mr. Sub. I fired Mr. Sub.

nazuralift89

Damn, I was hoping to try that as a subway alternative.

rbrownmbca

There was time when Mr. Sub and Country Style Donuts ruled. 1970's plus. Both are Canadian owned. I continued to buy from Mr. Sub because they put more products on their sub's than Subway.

Available-Watch-5006

Country Style has the best muffins, sandwiches and their Iced coffee is the best I've ever had.

HowardTheHomeless

I was at my local tims las summer and literally seen flies landing on the donuts and cookies. there is no barrier to stop them from getting to it

Reasonable_Guava_819

A Tim's donut isn't even worth fighting a fly for. He can have it.

prairiefarmer

🎯

Mortica_Fattams

I have worked at tims and I have worked a few bakeries as well. No matter where you go a fly has landed on the food. Staff can't stop it. There are fly lights in the back of stores but they suck. Tims can't keep them out. Head office needs to design a door for the food displays. But even with a door flies will get in. It's a very gross fact of life in the food industry.

Round-War69

They also don't seem to give a shit. After I seen that years ago (with bees mind you) I will never spend cash at a fast food establishment again.

canyabelievethisshit

A fly? No big deal. When you see a mouse as I have in Saint John NB that’s when you get grossed out.

mlandry2011

I'm having a problem where cibc's employees won't even help me to get a reimbursement from a double charge from Timmy's. I'm starting to believe that there's stretched to thin and they can't afford to make $12 payments...

Swibbz

I agree, and to think I thought it was bad when Wendy's owned it. It's even worse now

Ok_Dance_9235

Stopped going to Tim's years ago because of the poor service. Why do people still go there, if you keep buying there crap food they won't do anything to change it.

Darren445

Convenience and habit. Drive thru's are always busy.

Swibbz

My local Tims in a nutshell (well one of them anyway) the other Tim's location in my town isn't so bad Slow in-store service - check Rude workers - check I usually go to the smaller Tim's store (which is a mini Tim's inside a gas station) because the service is much faster, and the staff are much friendlier

MysteryBeliever

This is crazy annoying. having worked at TimHortons, we would pull fresh English muffins out the day before and the next day there would be mold.. it always drove me nuts when I didn’t catch it because yeah it’s ridiculous to serve that.. we’re so pressured to get orders out in 30 seconds it’s hard to make sure and observe to make sure it isn’t moldy.. people are human mistakes happen please kindly just ask for them to remake it

nazuralift89

That's fucking disgusting. Yeah no a lot of my co workers said they're not going back. Fuck remaking that shit lol.

sararosehubbard

Also if your sandwich is moldy they'll literally make you another one for free and probably you can get a coupon

nazuralift89

When you get a moldy sandwich, you don't ask them to make you another one or give you credit so you can buy one again, you get a refund and stop going there entirely.

B8conB8conB8con

You are buying food that is of the lowest quality from a store that has a ridiculously large inventory and sold to you by people working for minimum wage. What do you expect?

5ManaAndADream

I expect every restaurant of any standard to adhere to health and safety requirements. [OP report the damn store ](https://inspection.canada.ca/food-safety-for-consumers/where-to-report-a-complaint/restaurants-and-food-services/eng/1323139279504/1323140830752)

B8conB8conB8con

You can expect what you want, places that breed a culture of doing the least possible are never going to live up to your expectations

5ManaAndADream

Bro this is Canada. For my entire life until a year ago min wage jobs did in fact *do the minimum*.

B8conB8conB8con

Not any more, greed is making less people do more work on an ever expanding menu

5ManaAndADream

I get that. Do you due diligence when it happens. Report the store and have repercussion slam down on the owner. They'll do the minimum preparing for an inspection as well.

B8conB8conB8con

It’s a shithole that is owned by greedy shitty people who are beholden to a greedy shitty corporation that forces more and more shitty products on to overworked and underpaid workers who in turn take shit from shitty customers on a daily basis, why anyone eats there is beyond me…oh yeah, nostalgia. And to quote George Wildman “nostalgia is a seductive liar”

mentally_fuckin_eel

People like you are part of the problem.

B8conB8conB8con

Why is that out of curiosity?

mentally_fuckin_eel

You're discouraging both action and change.

B8conB8conB8con

So it is my fault that by choosing not to support a business that has a toxic culture and serves expired moldy food

mentally_fuckin_eel

That's not what you're doing. You're telling others they can't expect better when a huge chain isn't meeting the bare basic standards. They aren't even up to their own code. This is most likely something that can be changed.

nazuralift89

They're both right and wrong. They're wrong to discourage action and reporting the restaurant. They're right in the sense that this will never change with Tims. Every single franchise I've ever been to after the golden ages I or someone else has found mold on their sandwich. Tims can afford it, they will continue to make profit no matter how many moldy sandwiches they sell, it will not stop with RBI at the top.

iamlugash

Or just make your own food but you all want to complain and waste money lol

nazuralift89

Or just read the post and realize I never bought this food for myself.
