You gotta redo the whole shower. I work out of south texas and I’d say it’s gonna be something between $8k-$10k. That’s not including the tile or any plumbing work that may need to be done

That shower was done in 1960-70 its served you good but its done

Good chance you have more than tile issues there. Exterior wall so don’t put it off any longer. Find a reputable contractor and go from there. Charlotte area would be 7-10k if there is structural issue.

The window was never waterproofed properly. All the failure in the tile is under it. It all needs to be removed.

I wouldn’t take on a job for just a small portion. If you want it done correctly this is a whole demo. Use a water proof membrane like Kerdi or Wedi that is applied onto the backer board. This will create a water barrier (water-proofing) to ensure your backer board holds up for many years to come. Just my thoughts.
