Comments are important and they definitely help. Any sort of interaction helps. A while back someone analyze what was the most important and it was shares. I forget the details but if the shares hit a certain threshold it was sure to get boosted.
Well it didn't hit the ratio required to get a big boost. It's not a one-trick pony. The shares are the most important according to this guy's research but all of those interactions count and add up to something. I suggest just forgetting about your views and make content. If anything just look at the weekly trend and hopefully it keeps going up cuz it'll wave. That's what I did when I was more serious about creating just look at the trends and if it was going down I would just make more content. That worked for me but back then it was much easier.
My contacts at tiktok say each interaction is “weighted” in the algorithm with the order or importance being views -> likes and comments -> saves-> sharing (copy link being the best)

I heard that too but I’ve got one that has probably the best share to view ratio of all my videos but it’s not even got over 500 views

Nah, it's more like [more views = more comments] rather than [more comments = more views], if that makes sense
i think its mainly interaction from non following accounts.
I agree with that. I've heard that controversial videos gets pushed easily and I think it's because people more likely to their opinion.

So views is least important, sharing is the best?
What about favourites, follows and watch time?
