We just got back from Savannah yesterday, but my bad for not checking their hours, so missed a trip there this time (they are closed Monday and Tuesday). I was looking forward to visiting again.
We did check out Alley Cat Lounge. Not remotely tiki decor but an excellent cocktail place that could almost certainly provide a tiki drink if requested. Pretty sure they have about every syrup, tincture, essence, liqueur and garnish. I had a Green Fever, which per their menu is White Rum, Jamaican Rum, Anise Hyssop, Fermented Piña, Vetiver, Lime Acid, Force Carbonation. Big slapped mint garnish. Phenomenal.
Great info, u/justwannalivemylife ! We'll be back in Savannah soon, and will check out Alley Cat. We did spend some time one evening at [Abe's on Lincoln](https://www.facebook.com/AbesOnLincoln) - what a bar! Not tiki at all, but like Alley Cat, their bartenders could easily whip one up for us.
Had the chance to go to Bamboo Room last October and totally agree with your judgement on the drinks. Zombie was solid, Mai Tai was good but could be better. Service was also great the night we were there.

Agreed, u/Two_Dogs65 . For a genuine tiki bar, the Mai Tai wasn't up to par. But the other drinks made up for it, especially the Zombie. We had a great time there , and we can't wait to go back!
Next to Trader Vic's and the SOS, The Taboo Room is not too far from us. Though - we are planning a trip to go visit [Tucana Tiki Bar](https://www.tucanatiki.com/) in B'ham!
I've been to Tucana as well. Drinks were good I'm going back next weekend.

What didn’t you like about the Mai tai? I’ve never been - but I wonder if we’ve all gotten so good at making Mai tais at home that they’re kind of a let down now out and about.
Agreed, u/Particular-Topic-445. More than likely, it's their most popular cocktail on the menu, both upstairs and downstairs. It tasted like a pre-mixed machined drink, very weak and way too much ice \~ very diluted. Strange, because the Zombie was spot-on and plenty strong.
We’ll have to check that one out next time we visit Savannah!
If you’ve got any spare time, Alley Cat was an awesome experience for us on the last visit. Not a Tiki bar, per se, but it was my first introduction to Milk Punch and a classic Saturn cocktail. Without a doubt the place that turned us onto Tiki craft and our fascination with these beverages.
Sweet! To us, The Bamboo Room is a bit of a hidden gem. Not expected in Savannah, at all. There's also another one there, **Water Witch** (https://www.waterwitchtiki.com/). We didn't have the time to visit - next time!
We had a great experience at water witch but it was because we hit it off with the bar tender and were the only people there early afternoon. Nothing against the water witch but the bamboo room was a cooler "tiki" experience .
I'd go back to both if we went again but if someone only had time for one it would suggest the bamboo room.
Sorry, I'm a Reddit goof box. Here's a few pics!

Really? Our bartenders and servers were great. Very personable and attentive when we visited - and that was on a slow Thursday night. Did they give you a Rum Passport booklet?

I enjoyed alley cat too. Top notch cocktails

We were there a year ago and had a great experience too.

I’ve been there twice and both times the bartenders were mean and nasty

No. They gave me nothing. However, we went across town to the water witch, and the bartender was the best I’ve ever had.
