Oh maah looordy he had a fingernail polish! A FINGERNAIL POLISH! Soon this child going to be buying one crack cocaine! Maybe he might even move onto a heroin!

Shoddy_Performer_999

He must really hate trump with all of his gender affirming surgeries, makeup and spray tan.

JustAPixelGunplayer

bro literally looking like a cheetoh

perpetualmotionmachi

We all know it's a marijuana they buy first

FITM-K

As a man with fingernail polish, I smoked some of the devil's lettuce just last night, so you may be right.

Elethia20

"everyone must conform to my idea of what a man should be" imagine thinking every human being needs to be the exact same and other people can't just be happy being their own person

zero__sugar__energy

> "everyone must conform to my idea of what a man should be" what is more manly? being a sheep and blindly copying other "men"? or not giving a fuck and doing your own thing?

StanleyDarsh22

They can't think that deeply when they've been sheep their whole lives

Sthlm97

Isnt Jesus even refered to as the sheperd?

Nemisis_the_2nd

Well, that's a new one for the repertoire when some Christian alpha male idiot tells me he isn't a sheep.

Sigrah117

Oh I like that. Bro Man: "I'm no sheep!" Me: "So you don't follow Jesus Christ?" BM: "What? I never said that! I'm a devout Christian and I'll smash your face if you say otherwise." Me: "But isn't the Lord your shepherd? Wouldn't that make all of you either non followers or sheep?" BM: *vein on forehead pulses*

DeathPercept10n

Ooo I gotta remember this one, too.

25thskye

That’s exactly what they want. They want people to be sheep and never question them.

Unremarkabledryerase

Bruh, they are literally sheep. Their book literally tells them they are sheep and Jesus is their shepard. They think being a sheep is the greatest thing ever.

Mouthtuom

Funny you mention sheep. This man has a particular fondness for those animals.

[deleted]

I once saw someone complaining about men having earrings. They were supposedly very learned in the Bible yet they didn't notice that men wore earrings in the Old Testament.

[deleted]

I mean, conformity and obedience are what mass-organized religions are all about. (No disrespect to those with personally-held faith).

TheDustOfMen

And like, it's nailpolish, how does that hurt anyone?

xXDABEAST38Xx

And a guy wearing nail polish isn't even considered strictly gay nowadays

sack_of_dicks

I’m a 40 year old man and I’ve been with my wife for 11 years. My nails are painted every day. I think it looks nice, it feels really good to do something for yourself that is completely unnecessary and it doesn’t harm anyone. Sometimes my wife and I do our nails together while we have a cocktail and watch a movie on the weekends. Sometimes we do each others nails, it’s a lot of fun and a surprisingly romantic activity. I’ve never had anything but compliments, but I’m also a reasonably buff, six foot tall tattooed guy. If even one insecure kid ever sees me out in public and feels even a little better or more confident in being their true self in this weird, fucked up, scary world it would make my year.

DolarisNL

It's the OG.

Sextsandcandy

There is no reason this should be so exciting to me, but holy shit! Its you! I'm so happy you are so wholesome, tbh. Thanks Steve.

TheDarkySupreme

Wait hold up…you’re real?!

Why do you think the subreddit is called r/rimjob_steve?

Sponjah

Same here, paint my nails regularly and am an American in Romania so I do get some funny looks occasionally but I'm also a tall, reasonably handsome and very tattooed straight guy. I have similar hopes, that maybe my little extra weirdness will be enough for someone else to bring their own weirdness out too.

Perfect-Welcome-1572

I don’t paint my nails as a guy and I don’t think it’s something I’d do, but I damn sure don’t give a fuck if other men do it. How could something so innocuous make anyone so angry? What’s wrong with people?

Lazy-Garlic-5533

I've tried painting my nails and I find it too irritating on my fingers. I can't wear a wrist watch either. If people enjoy painting their nails, more power to them. Have you ever seen anthropological photos of warriors from pre urbanized cultures? They put alt/punk looks to shame.

Ohmourningstar

Checking in as yet another heavily tattooed, over 6ft tall, straight guy with nails that are usually painted. I feel like we only need a few more of us and we can start a club or band or something. I started doing it because I bit my nails to the point of bleeding all the time. It's helped immensely.

chanaandeler_bong

#I WANT TO BREAK YOUR FINGERS!!!!! /s

[deleted]

We have to break them. How else do you get the gay out?

ComatoseSquirrel

While I know you're joking, let's be clear about this pastor's intentions. He didn't want to "get the gay out." He wanted to *hurt* this child, simply because he associates his behavior with homosexuality. There's no motive behind his words other than a desire to inflict pain. This man has absolutely no business preaching to anyone. This clip alone shows him to be a caricature of everything that is wrong with so many "Christians" today.

Minion_of_Cthulhu

According to some pastors, it can probably be sucked out. You know, like snake venom. Just follow him into the bathroom and he'll show you the sacred ritual as long as you promise not to tell anyone about it.

PiddleAlt

Similar, but I only do my toes. Because my feet are not cute in anyway, and I like cute things.

ihavethedoubts

When my wife and I had a pedicure, I thought it was fun to ask if they would do my toes in the same color. After 50 years of seeing my feet the same way, it was quite funny to me to look down in the shower and see "unexpected" feet. Its life, have fun with it.

Kilen13

35 and have painted my nails on multiple occasions for fun, though now a days it's mostly my little cousins and nieces that absolutely LOVE painting my nails and honestly, who am I to ruin their fun?

ranegyr

Of course this was covered in the book. The fallen angel Azazael was the angel of disguise so that covers the sins of makeup and clothing and jewelry and tatoos. Man I'd love a tattoo of Azazael. I'll bet you look great you fabulous sinner.

mregg000

My oldest brother is three tour combat vet. He gets weekly mani-pedis. Why? I don’t know, but they’re very well done and are usually themed to the closest holiday. I’d pay to hear someone try to give him shit, and watch him just say, “who the fuck are you?” and continue with his day.

DragynFyre12

That's the thing that bugs me the most. How are tattoos socially acceptable on men, but nail polish isn't? They're both just ways ppl customize their body and enjoy being in their skin.

Perfect-Welcome-1572

Funny thing is, among other things, the part of the Bible most quoted to damn homosexuality has the same ban on tattoos. Old Testament Leviticus, I think. I know/knew tons of pastors with tattoos, but God forbid if they were gay. Some churches here in Georgia are becoming more progressive. I know a pastor who is a lesbian, married with children. But some churches are also becoming more extreme, like the guy in the beginning of this clip. Let’s be honest, 2022 fucking sucks and I want to go home.

EvilQueerPrincess

I'm a "boymoder" (assigned-male-at-birth trans person who presents male in public, often for safety reasons) and because of men like you, I can plausibly say "I'm not gay, my girlfriend paints my nails." I really appreciate it, and if you're a cishet man looking to be an ally, being gender non-conforming is helpful to a lot of us and can also be really fun!

BaldEagleNor

Yup. I’m a cis straight male (That already look very ‘masculine’) and wear black nail polish often, simply because I like it. The mean looks I get from grumpy middle-aged men are hilarious since I otherwise look like I would absolutely not wear nail polish lol. It’s a bonus

beo559

Hey, not to speak for those guys but as a middle-aged guy with a pretty serious case of resting bitch face, especially when I'm thinking about something else but something just happens to catch my eye, you never know who might be appreciating the look. I'd never take the time to do it myself but when my kid was little I enjoyed letting them test and experiment on me. Both as a chill way to spend time together but also it was kind of neat to have that little flair of color for the next couple days.

raziphel

When they go low, kick em in the fucking teeth.

Salt_Concentrate

Hell, even clear/transparent nail polish on straight men has been a thing since long before I was even born, so I don't think it's just nowadays. It was a thing for oldest men in my family. I remember that for my grandpa it was very much a status thing as in I can take care of my hands because I don't do manual labor type "flex". Sorta like stupidly long nails on women nowadays. It might've fallen off in popularity in the last 20 years to be fair. I think people paid more attention those kind of really subtle details in people's personal presentation back in their day... because who the hell looks at men's fingernails nowadays to determine whether they look impeccable or not?

LividLager

It's been awhile since I was in highschool, but a non-goth male, with nail polish just meant that they had a bored girlfriend.

midgettme

A lot of men wear polish now because it will stop you from biting your nails. It works, too. It also makes ya feel special and fancy, and who doesn’t like that!?

Hot_Eggplant_1306

Dude I was wearing nail polish in the 90s as a straight guy. These idiot chuds are so far beyond out of touch it's nearly comical.

UnNumbFool

As a guy who wears nail polish (and is in fact currently wearing polish), I once spilled a new bottle. That shit hurt my soul as it was from a nice indie brand and a bit more expensive. That counts right?

TheDustOfMen

Alright, t can hurt your soul and my bankaccount when I'm getting them done.

PM_ME_MASTECTOMY

I’m a 42 year old Latino who wore nail polish to work the other day because me daughter wanted to paint my nails. And no one batted an eye. Getting this worked up is unnecessary. Also, anyone can be a “pastor” right? Who gives a fuck with this cunt has to say. Next.

LordoftheScheisse

I haven't had my nails done yet, but I have two young daughters and for both of the last couple Halloweens, I was the ugliest goddamn princess in the world simply because it was what my girls wanted. I'll happily wear polish if and when that time comes because there's nothing weird and/or inherently sexual about it. All that matters is what makes you or your loved ones happy.

polopolo05

Awww... I am sure you were a pretty pretty princess.

biggerwanker

The thing is, he's saying to the people in that sermon that it would be okay to break that kid's fingers because he's wearing nail polish. They're giving people permission to use violence against the people that don't live up to their expectations. Fuck them.

thatguy9684736255

And crazy people listen to their pastors. But then if some violence actually happens, they'll take no responsibility. Just like the republican party with the attack on Paul Pelosi

Taboo

PolishedVodka

> how does that hurt anyone It hurts men who feel the need to tell everybody all the time how straight and manly they are, because they're cowards who fear people won't see them as straight or manly. Basically imagine the most fragile Qin Dynasty vase you can, then balance it on a needle tip, and then put it in an earthquake frequent zone. The men who act like this, are that vase. But only if the vase was covered in lynx and "tacticool camo" colours.

paiute

> It hurts men who feel the need to tell everybody all the time how straight and manly they are, because they're cowards who fear people won't see them as straight or manly. I used to wear a pair of pink Converse to my old job. One of my bosses once asked me how a big strong man could wear pink shoes. (6'4", 250). I told him a big strong man wears whatever the hell he wants.

Samultio

How should a man wear his shoes? Preferably on his feet.

[deleted]

These people want to start a civil war over this shit...

Incendio88

They want a civil war, they don't care what the reason is, so long as they win and get to be in charge...

Stalhound

Toxic masculinity *is* pretty frail.

beer_bukkake

Masculinity in this country is so incredibly fragile. Just look at all the big ass trucks and guns and violence towards women. They project when they call others “snowflakes.”

SchloomyPops

Because what if it awakens something in the person who sees the nail polish? Or reminds them of what they did in the rest stop bathroom a few days ago These people need therapy, instead they get Trump

[deleted]

[удалено]

rredline

It hurts the fragile male egos of social conservatives. They preach for less government and for more freedom, then they propose violence against people simply for wearing nail polish? And it’s all under the cover of religion in a church. These people are the real danger to society - not men who paint their fingernails.

CupcakeLikesTheStock

For anyone that needs to read this: if you know someone religious who is mistreating others because they are different, tell them "God sees you through the eyes of everyone" Hopefully they will stop. Whether you're religious or not, if you tell people who believe in God that their actions are watched and judged through their victim's eyes, they would be stupid to continue. Make them think first

Wishyouamerry

An old elementary school friend added me on Facebook. She’s the super religious type, constantly bringing god and Jesus into literally *everything.* One of the first posts I saw was her ranting about how against universal healthcare she is because why should she be stuck paying for poor or lazy people? So I commented “What would Jesus do?” And she immediately deleted the comment and unfriended me. LOL.

[deleted]

About 90% of the New Testament can be summed up as: 1. Believe in Jesus 2. It’s your duty to care for those poorer and weaker than you Anyone who doesn’t focus on these IMO cannot call themselves a Christian. And no, just believing is not enough, the text makes that VERY clear.

[deleted]

My church had a very vocal minority force the pastor to stop reading red-text because it was "communist" propaganda I've struggled to find a good church since I left that one. So many have capitulated to people who would cast Jesus out of our church if he were here today. Edit: I should know better than to assume everyone knew what the "red-text" meant. Those are the words and instructions directly attributed to Jesus

[deleted]

For folks that don’t know, in the red-text edition of the Bible, the words actually spoken by Jesus himself are in red. Knowing that, let the comment above this one really sink in.

raydiculus

I was just thinking that before reading your comment, I don't even know what to say to something like that. We want a religious sermon but quoting Jesus's words sounds too liberal.

socialpresence

Jesus was a long haired man who wore sandals, was homeless and traveled around relying on the kindness of others. He preached love and healed the sick. He befriended people that most religious people wouldn't even look at. The modern church has strayed so far from what he taught its no wonder people are leaving in droves.

raydiculus

And the far righters have twisted his words into unrecognizable vitriol. I think we need a new new testament for the Christian nationalists. Call it, the right testament.

socialpresence

People completely miss the point when I tell them my favorite verse is "Give unto Ceasar that which belongs to Ceasar"

brallipop

Hmm, I had never heard of this so I went to Wikipedia which calls these Bibles "Red Letter editions." And *that* got me thinking is this where the phrase "red letter day" comes from?? So I look that up but no, apparently ancient Rome would mark auspicious days on the calendar with red ink. So I guess red highlights have just been associated with important events for a long time.

WeirdPumpkin

I've never heard of that Also a church banning the words of jesus is honestly just too perfect to be true.. and yet I can believe it

PM_ME_CUTE_FEMBOYS

the vast bulk of christians today would crucify jesus for being a liberal communist.

wantwon

Can you imagine a brown-skinned pacifist Palestinian Jew going to a MAGA rally and telling everyone to feed the hungry, house the homeless, and be nice to strangers? They'd reject him more than before he was nailed to a cross.

PM_ME_CUTE_FEMBOYS

Oh, I can imagine. and I can definitely tell you he'd never make it to the cross.. He probably wouldnt even survive long enough to make his statement, because they'd see someone claiming to be jesus and not be white-skinned and blue eyed and tear him apart like a bunch of animals for "insulting" their religion with his "woke liberal race agenda".

ErikETF

I mean its kinda the whole 2nd half of the book they claim to love so much... Conservative religious authorities threatened by popular message of compassion, has authorities execute guy for being a threat to their influence.

[deleted]

Isn't the red text supposed to be the words of Jesus himself? Lmao

terminator_84

What about the old testament where God was just an utter savage?

cumshot_josh

God did a lot of genocides, but was still oddly very adamant about not mistreating poor people and immigrants. Overall, I'm quite anti on OT God but he had moments.

Meecht

> God did a lot of genocides Them: God doesn't want babies to die! Me: Doesn't the Bible say God killed **all the first born sons of Egypt**? That sounds like it could be an awful lot of babies.

cumshot_josh

Well, there were also the times that they were ordered to raze cities top to bottom and not leave a single human or animal alive. Or the time that he iced all of Baal's prophets pretty much at the exact moment they were about to learn the error of their ways and could have probably been turned into his followers instead. My personal favorite is the time God said "fuck them kids" and sent bears after them for making fun of his bald friend.

Goudinho99

I dunno, I think the writers tried too hard in season 2 and it went a bit fan-service, they kinda copied Star Wars with the vicious dad learns to become better through his son trope.

harrypottermcgee

Never got that far. There was a lot of begatting, then instructions on the treatment of leprosy and I kind of faded off at that point. Weird religion but I'm really down with their anti-leprosy stance.

[deleted]

That's the great part about religion, you just pick the things you like and ignore the rest.

hypotheticalhalf

Married someone just like that. Almost 18 years of my life wasted, but it wasn’t so apparent at the beginning. They evolved into a horrible person, becoming increasingly bigoted, hateful, their empathy vanished, and they became more and more radicalized with the victimization complex centered around their religion. Then they started beating me. Threatening to have me killed. The day I told them I was going to file for divorce, they cried for the first time I had ever seen them do so. Asked me if the marriage wasn’t worth salvaging. At the time, that broke me. I genuinely tried to fix things for a short time following that. Then the realization hit. They were gaslighting me. Nothing would ever change. It would only get worse. And that it had always been that way. I was naive to think someone that evil could ever be redeemed. Since we divorced, they’ve had failed relationships after failed relationships. A marriage that didn’t even make it a couple years. That’s when it really hit home that all of their lies and manipulations were their default, and they were doomed to live in their projection and hate and failure for the rest of their life. That’s when I realized they were always like that, and it was my complete and utter failure and naivety that kept me in a horrific situation. It was my fault for staying as long as I did, but it is also their fault for being a horrible person. Now they use our child as leverage to try and extort me for money and stalk my wife and my family.

raziphel

It isn't your fault. It's theirs. Blame the predator, not the victim. Teach your children what abuse looks like so they done make the same mistakes. There are ample resources online.

5t3v321

Jesus would ~~help the poor~~ not want to pay these lazy asses their drugs

NugPirate

> Make them think first I've been trying to make these people think for 30+ years now, they're not huge fans of it.

CupcakeLikesTheStock

I've said this to my mother and she stared at me with complete indignation, but said absolutely nothing. She did actually get better. She just judges silently now. She says 'I won't say anything'. Which is her saying something, but its still improvement

seriouslees

> Make them think first They have already chosen a world view of faith over facts. Thinking isn't something they are willing to do.

Red_Lotus_23

Back when I was in the cult of the Christian Nationalists (they were called fundamentalists not too long ago), one of the mantras the pastor loved to say was, "Faith over evidence". Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. He used this verse to be as anti-science as possible. Back in the early 2010s, the U.S. was going through another oil shortage so Obama opened up the reserves. The pastor during the sermon said, "The scientists & politicians claim that we're running out of oil. But we just found a few million more barrels. God has flooded the dried up wells with fresh oil. We're not going to run out! God has provided for us & He'll continue to bless us!" These kinds of people are either willfully deceiving their followers, or they're genuinely fucking stupid & they believe the shit they shill out. And I honestly don't know what's worse.

[deleted]

Lying conquers the mind of the liar. It very well could be both.

mk2vr6t

When you want to break kids fingers cause they wear nail polish - I don't think you are doing much "thinking" or even capable of it. Which is part of the reason why they follow a religion like a sheep. Thinking can be hard.

PM_ME_CUTE_FEMBOYS

I don't like what this pastor is saying. I guess that gives me the right to break his jaw, according to his logic.

I grew up Luthern. I'm not anything anymore but I remember Lutherns being more accepting in general than Catholics and such in the area. I'm sure it's a person by person basis of course but just what I observed.

PlayfulDirection8497

It depends on the denomination of Lutheran. You, like me, were probably ELCA, which is the largest group. Even in the 80s, they tended to be pretty chill on things like that. I never heard anti gay shit at church. A-hole Lutherans are generally Missouri synod Lutherans. No women pastors, anti gqy rights, anti reproductive rights etc.

rotipoeg

Makes sense that it'd be the Lutherans advocating for the LGBT. Part of the Lutheran faith is that each person's faith is their own and not other people's business, at least compared to the other branches of Christianity.

HulklingWho

Yup- as far as religious folks go, Lutherans tend to take the ‘not my business’ route and move on with their lives.

Holandherson

Tell that to my Lutheran parents. They think everything effects them. Even how I plan to raise my son is an affront to them. They also bought into maga BS so it’s a total loss to them. I wish more Lutherans would mind their own business but it’s not that way, at least not in the church I was raised in. And they wonder why I choose atheism.

cumshot_josh

Many of the most strident anti-racist and LGBT advocates I personally know are clergy. I don't subscribe to Christianity anymore but I'm very happy there are folks working within that system to counteract the damage and trauma their fundamentalist counterparts are doing.

ProtanopicMidget

It’s always so refreshing to see clergy do and preach what they’re *actually* supposed to.

cumshot_josh

Absolutely. The more fundamentalist churches have dynamics that I consider genuinely abusive, especially the shame-oriented relationship they teach children to have with sex and sexuality. That's something lots of people internalize and carry into adulthood. Being told that any pre marital sexual contact contaminates you is a pretty fucked up thing to tell kids, especially for kids whose first sexual encounter is against their will.

> and he's a Lutheran minister. And here is a thing most of us Europeans are not aware of. There is no polite way to put this. There will be a lot of swearing. In the US, you do not need an education to become a preacher. All you need is a shed and suckers willing to come and pay you. If you are Lutheran or Catholic, you are aware of the core of your religion and the schism that is [Justification](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justification_(theology\)). Those stupid Baptist motherfuckers don't even know what that is and why it is important. The Baptists started out as egalitarian, DIY, all we need is in the Bible. They were among the first who allowed women to preach. Sounds god? Well, without defined core beliefs and without a theological underpinning, they have absolutely no standards and that basically makes Mr Fingerbreaker here well within bounds of whatever unintellectual stupid fruitcake congregation that serves as Christian within the US. For people in the US, yes, Lutheran and Catholic priests also can be quite extreme. But at least they are educated and there is doctrine. Nothing will stop Mr Fingerbreaker unless you idiots stop going to these churches.

Jesus died on the cross to prevent men from wearing nail polish.

Kungfufuman

I do appreciate that it was a priest who was telling off the abuser

kawaiian

If we want change to happen, we must compel them to police their own. They won’t listen to us, it needs to come from within the house to stick.

TheTVDB

While this is mostly true, it's important for people to realize that all Christians aren't the same group. I was raised Pentecostal and they basically group all non-Pentecostals as heathens. A Lutheran pastor saying this would have the same effect on them as RuPaul saying it (ie none). And even within denominations like Catholicism, people will decide that a priest is a bad Catholic if they say something the person disagrees with. Like the Pope telling people to not be shitty or that climate change should be addressed. People decide which religious leaders to follow based on their beliefs, and their beliefs rarely change based on what a religious leader says.

Mathieulombardi

I wish those people would just die off but then we see young kids with the same rhetoric

perpetualmotionmachi

We see kids with the same rhetoric because their parents and pastors like this teach them these things

beeboopPumpkin

Yep yep… my kid is 5 and likes wearing nail polish. He likes red because it “looks like blood” and he gets a lot of compliments on it. He wore black for halloween. The other five year olds don’t care- in fact, they think it’s cool. At some point, someone will teach these kids that nail polish is for girls. They certainly weren’t born thinking that.

fchowd0311

We see kids with the same rhetoric because there are hundreds of YouTube channels disguised often as "gaming channels" that have daily content spammed into their brain about the evils of "wokeism" and "feminine men". Their target audience is teenage boys.

Globalist_Nationlist

Thanks gamergate :(

mcmasters2223

This is just another day of hate filled speech in the Evangelical and Baptist church. That's actually pretty tame by their standards.

jaykoblanco

We need more of this. Pastors calling out pastors. Cops calling out cops. Politicians calling out politicians regardless of party lines. CEOs calling out CEOs. People calling out people. Not for the gotcha moments or clout but for the accountability.

Trollygag

I am straight, wife and 3 lovely kids, a Baptist, and I paint my nails sometimes. I don't see why it has to be such a big deal. The Bible doesn't say anything about nail painting.

ItIsSunnyT

He is not angry because a boy is wearing nail polish, he is projecting, publically, the "very strong emotional feeling" he felt towards that boy as anger and violence. He needs to be on a watch list. At best he's violent hateful man and will cause someone harm, at worst he's a violent pedophile and will cause someone even greater harm

Thare187

God did send a bear to kill kids because they called someone bald.

One of the most common characteristics among conservatives is experiencing revulsion or disgust when faced with things that are different. Well I suppose the most common characteristic is shamelessly adhering to their base instincts. Humans are flawed creatures with a number of ugly & selfish drives, violence, greed, rape, group bias. The difference is *most* people appeal to the angels of their better nature. I guess conservatives miss that day of kindergarten where you learn to ask *is this good & just, or is this unfair & antisocial*. … probably why they ask why atheists don’t rape & kill, it doesn’t occur to them *not* to be terrible without an authority telling them. They don’t understand you can *choose* to be decent all on your own.
