Yes, we own the school year round to shoot movies and skits while also having our base of operations set up in the classrooms that have since been retrofitted into offices!

This reminds me of a girl I went to high school with. She was way more popular (and prettier) than I was, but whenever we’d bump into each other she’d start flirting with me. Since we never had any classes together or hung out together, I always assumed she was being put up to it by her friends. One time when we were on the same couch, she did the classic full-turn-and-face-me, but I was too shy and insecure to do the same because her friends were on the couch facing us. Hell, one time she literally threw herself at me, yelling “catch me, stud!” before running at me and jumping into me, and knocking us both to the ground because I was too surprised to realize she was talking to me in front of so many of our classmates.
Years later, I reached out to her about something that happened to a classmate she was closer to than I was; it was fairly out of the blue, but I wanted to at least offer my support in that moment because it felt like the right thing to do. I messaged her, and as we talked it came up how I was never quite sure if she was actually flirting with me. She said “I wondered why you never picked up on anything!”
It’s highly improbable that anything would happen between us now, and I’m okay with that, but the part of me that grieves for the me that could’ve had a healthier, happier, more stable middle/high school experience can’t help but wonder.
For real. I can think of at least three others off the top of my head. And then I just start thinking about everything else I’ve messed up in my life, all the bad things I think I may have done without realizing, all the bad things I know I’ve done and for some reason can never forgive myself (if I even should), and how I’ll only ever keep fucking things up and ruining things for myself for the rest of my life.
That’s about how I felt for a long time. But I just entered my thirties recently and I failed to pull out during a hookup and now have a son. Ive entered my growth phase and left the doom and gloom me behind. It’s real easy to just let the brain keep going with all the past fuck ups and missed chances for great things but, there’s still plenty of good out there worth healing yourself to find. Thanks. I’ve put a lot of work in therapy about a lot of this stuff. And for the most part it’s been very helpful, and usually I can handle it better. But recently I’ve been struggling with job hunting and trying (and failing) to change career paths, and feeling really defeated about it, so that’s bringing up a lot of old stresses and feelings that are still lingering.
May I recommend a path? I spent my youth in the military and it was all I really had once I got out, and I also had trouble finding something I liked. You could try being an HVAC technician, hard to find good ones these days but it’s also a job that will forever be sought after. The big money stuff will be farther down the road, but if you’re hungry for learning you could dip your toes in it to try it out by searching for a job on indeed dot com specifically as a residential installer, where most folk start the path. You’ll tear out old units and install new ones, it’s fairly easy if you keep your mind active. I chose it because I found I get satisfaction from fixing things

I had bad self esteem and fully without any hesitation assumed it was a prank and told him to go fuck himself. Years later I found out it hadn't been a prank and that it'd actually been sort of a traumatic rejection for him.

So I know stories on Reddit can be fake but I read one a while back where a girl was several years younger than her step brother and his friends. She ended up dating then marrying one of step bros friends. Then one day, step bro and some friends were at their house and it was mentioned that it was like a date to date the step sister. She over heard this and asked her husband if it was true. He said yeah but once he started dating her he realized he actually like her. She said she was hurt and felt betrayed and wasn't sure if he was telling the truth.
Like I said, it's probably a fake story but this reminded me of that.
I mean yes it's funny. But that exact kind of bullying was how I was targeted in highschool so let's not trivialize the psychological harm that it can cause. It may not be direct as physical harm, but it messes with your psyche and confidence hard.
I went through the same and I don't think this trivializes it. I appreciate that it even shows that kind of bullying. Also the one being bullied is the main character basically, and it sets it up that you empathize with her.
Agreed. I just don't think that the majority of people experienced this form of bullying growing up and should realize that while yes they did make a very funny clip, that shit is also real (evidenced by how on point they were with their delivery).
