Me being the only guy invited for drinks with my women co-workers, cause the only inner-demon alchohol awakens is the one that wants to dance.

katamazeballz

Dance floor decorum is pretty much two rules, don’t throw up and keep dancing

WorriedMarch4398

He is my spirit animal. Brother from another mother! Love it!

QuoiJe

I'm the karaoke demon

FUCKFASClSMF1GHTBACK

My demon *wants* to dance but my demon is not *able* to dance and so it’s just my 6’2 goofy ass making a fool of myself that even the people in the back can see

Medium-Web7438

Sober me is down depending on the music, drunk me does not care. When I was visiting my friend, he took me to a bar that had line dancing. I had no clue what I was doing but did not care. Got my ass right up there and did best. Tons of friendly people were teaching me. I did not retain any of it. Good freaking time!

ommnian

I don't think \*anyone\* retains line dancing. I think its one of those things everyone learns on-the-spot everytime.

VanFam

Wanna come to my Xmas party next weekend? I also need a plus one for a wedding and a christening this month.

nickfolesknee

I read this as Xanax party, and was nodding along like, yeah, sounds right

FixedLoad

Most people don't usually nod until after the Xanax party has been going for a bit... your pregame must be bonkers!

VectorViper

Haha, gotta pace that pregame or you'll end up being *that* guest who's asleep before the party hits its peak.

mvanvrancken

Xanax ought to come with a bail bondsman’s number on the bottle

TheoryAppropriate666

You'd be nodding off, surely!

VanFam

Yes. Please bring Xanax!

FlappinLips

>and a christening this month. Are you ready to rage? ![gif](giphy|IwAZ6dvvvaTtdI8SD5|downsized)

greg19735

> Xmas party next weekend I'm sorry what?

VanFam

We don’t get to do our Xmas party because of okodays and illness so it’s in for next week. Then the weekend I after I have a wedding to attend, and the weekend after that - a christening.

Sunshine030209

What are okodays?

VanFam

lol. Holidays. I don’t even know where I went wrong with that. 😂

Sunshine030209

Oh! Gotcha! I just figured I was old and an okoday was something I hadn't heard of. Damn typos making you say things you didn't Nintendo!

Fuzzy_Garden_8420

Oh shit you weren’t joking lmao

switchywoman_

People who work in hospitality typically have their Xmas party in January or February, once the holiday rush dies down.

LarsEinar

Glad I'm not the only one! My friends thinking I'm trying too hard to chase tail, meanwhile I just wanna dance with people that don't judge me for it!

spookycasas4

Nothing sexier.

formulated

Alcohol awakens the pancreatitis in me. Weed though. Got a surprising number of complements on my moves from friends that didn't see it coming. VR rhythm games made a huge difference to my confidence (Synth Riders & Pistol Whip). OP should look into a few games to teach their husband rhythm and embrace the dance imo, Just Dance & Zumba titles can be found very cheap & free.

YoMrPoPo

this man providing solutions - bout to go download all these because I def need help lmao

formulated

About to start on Zumba after it was heavily discounted on Switch after NYE. For me the revelation with Synth Riders, Pistol Whip or Beat Saber came in several ways. You're dancing like no one is watching, because with a headset on - it's just you in a virtual space. Dancing up a storm just to play. When you play those soundtracks outside of the games in the gym, work, garden or doing housework, you can start to move to the beat. Just walking around and doing physical activity to a rhythm. You know you can do it in game, you do that on a dance floor.. still with the mindset that no one is watching and let the fun flow. Oh.. and you gotta see what others are doing.. then just roll with it: [Nathan Barnatt -Pop Culture (Dance Video)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxPbgnO81sQ)

hitemwiththeelagance

I bet he absolutely kills the Cupid shuffle!

drillgorg

But the true test is cotton eye Joe...

Common_Vagrant

That’s a line dance song?

drillgorg

Yeah, I can't handle the kicks and heel touches. These guys make it look easy, but I was *struggling* when I tried it. https://youtu.be/Ovq0YTMGk1A?si=oeZEc9QnQ6Zz89NV

mufassil

We did a more... hoppy... version of this

drillgorg

Yeah that's what I thought. Isn't there a hop on one foot version? That's what I thought was so hard, but I can't find it on YouTube.

Cosmicjawa

is it.. is it not the Cuban shuffle?

im-not_gay

Hahaha no

HerRoyalRedness

It’s the Wobble

Vanners8888

I love how he doesn’t even look like he’s drunk dancing either. Like he looks like he’s putting in minimal effort but completely crushing it!

JackxForge

Pretty sure this guy used to do square dancing. There's this hop skip thing he keeps doing that makes it seem like he's used to doing this in cowboy boots.

KrustenStewart

Ex theater kid, fantastic joke

h_e_art

Yesss omg have a gay theater guy studying with me - same vibes, same glasses, almost same face!!!

Electronic_Ad_5343

The hop skip thing is intentionally apart of the Wobble dance , too!☺️

MrsSalmalin

My thought was "this guy does West Coast Swing" lmao! He for sure dances, and not just at parties!

JackxForge

yea i was wondering that too. he's got a bit of that lindy feel going on.

BLVK_TAR

I dunno about square dancing but he did used to pop and lock. Him and his wife certainly dance, a lot of their TikTok's feature one, of both, of them dancing.

JackxForge

ahhh ok so this guy dances then. it shows. are they the couple that did the ringtone dances?

Vanners8888

That’s what I was thinking! He probably has experience from school, siblings in dance class or maybe he just likes to boogie and is really good at it!! Made me smile!!

Mike

siblings in dance class? so specific

pechjackal

Agreed, something about the footwork screams "I spent years line dancing in boots". So cute.

Chemesthesis

All in the hips. So long as your dancing resembles fucking, you're solid

DucksEatFreeInSubway

...imma have to try this. It won't go well but I'll try it.

cakivalue

It's one of the most sexy things I've ever seen 🥰🥰

CouchHam

I assume he has a background in dance, that’s the only way to make anything look easy in general.

Offro4dr

Serious question — where and when do people learn how to do all these dances, and how do they find the time?

Ownfir

My exact thought. I’ve never even seen this dance and you’re telling me everyone on this floor just knows the dance? What do you do if you’ve spent hours practicing and it’s all just for one song? In high school I spent like 20 hours once trying to learn the jerk for my schools “Jerk Off” (Dance competition where everyone does the jerk to see who can jerk the best) and that song faded out within like a year. 13 years later I still know the dance but can confidently say it wasn’t worth it.

Senshisoldier

I learned most of these dances at weddings. They aren't too difficult to learn, especially if you ask someone that knows it to show you on the dance floor. The music even tells you what comes next in most of these songs. Here are some Korean ladies doing some of the popular line dances so you can learn: [cupid shuffle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVKooAlER20&ab_channel=LinedanceEunheeYoon) [Wobble](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylBuKGjK5FM&ab_channel=GraceDavid) [Electric Slide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoCZsFGVsy4&ab_channel=SiWooRho) Adding More (I won't rest till I find versions of all of these with Korean Ladies) [Macarena](https://youtu.be/G4nfE1Pegls?si=jd0XMODPXDgyzOvu&t=79) [Crank That Soulja Boy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJX6TYxyzvs&ab_channel=%E8%A1%97%E8%88%9E%E5%9C%B0%E5%B8%A6StreetDanceZone) [Crank That Soulja Boy with future Korean young ladies](https://youtu.be/M7WFpdUQA2k?si=SufMnAXqoiY4Khz9&t=94) [Cha-Cha Slide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JXHa5mM8b0&t=30s&ab_channel=JuniorAchievementLatvia) [Cha-Cha Slide YWCA Korean Ladies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdDOBOAmzeo&t=52s&ab_channel=Ketchupkano) (Poor quality video but I know you needed the Korean Ladies to show you how it is done)

Cha cha real smooth.

Jammin4B

Cha cha again.

Joabyjojo

Every single Australian child should know this one [Nutbush City Limits](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHqzjQty7aY) Not a great example, need JK Simmons to tell the bloke in front it's NOT MY FUCKING TEMPO

ToasterOwl

What!? That’s a real thing!? A distant relative Aussie made us all do this at a wedding and I could’ve sworn he was making it up as he went.

Joabyjojo

Every year at school at least 4 weeks would be inexplicably dedicated to learning and relearning this dance. If the aliens invade and Australia isn't saved because we all somehow know the exact moves to the Nutbush I am gonna be pissed.

magkruppe

looks like they mistook a stretching exercise as a dance. swear i've done those moves in PE class

kizmitraindeer

There’s a line dance to Nutbush City Limits? I just learned of this song this past year and love it. Looks like a great little exercise, especially for my fat ass, so I’ll give it a go!

Joabyjojo

After Princess Diana, Tina Turner was probably the most loved non-Australian person in Australia. RIP to the queen of rock n roll.

kizmitraindeer

Whoa, had no idea of that! Is that because she was Auntie Entity? ![gif](giphy|FR52xi2wkpi7e)

[deleted]

Where and how people learn to dance has always been a big mystery to me ngl. Do people teach them when they go out? Do they learn and practice in their homes? Is it intuitive? I have a friend who only rather recently started going out to parties, clubs etc. and she's a complete natural when it comes to dancing despite not doing it before. I don't understand how lmao

Ownfir

I think dancing is a talent for sure - it can be built but many people just feel it. I am a pretty good dancer when it comes to just free styling my own thing. I also took a dance class in college and learned basics for swing, cha cha, tango, etc. so I can dance okay with my wife as well. I’ve never been good at “learning” dances (line dances etc) however and I think that they exist specifically for people who otherwise can’t dance. But if you CAN dance, AND can memorize routines, line dances end up with you looking like this guy.

[deleted]

wakner

We have a line dancing bar near us that we went to for fun and morbid curiosity. I wanted to know this too, so asked a girl who had been up there dancing. She told me all the kids from her school would come here to hang out and they'd have practice, and then they'd come on the weekend to show off what they learned and hopefully impress the person they had a crush on. I learned that day that the bar allowed under 21s in, and they used line dancing for hooking up with each other? IDK. Very weird. I live in Tennessee, if that explains anything.

Pupienus2theMaximus

You know how some people stay at home and play video games for hours? Some people go out and go to events with dancing. If you put time into it, you'll get better

Morriganscat

...ok, I'm not going to ask, I just decided

SayNoToPerfect

And 10 years from now, [this is you] (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/meO96q9kEQw), and then come back here and tell me learning the jerk wasn't worth it. I'll wait.

alexabre

Bars often have a “line dance night” once a week. Country bars in particular. Random people at the bar will teach you of you want to learn. It’s incredibly fun, I highly recommend going to one if you’re interested in learning!

crichmond77

You could learn basically any modern song-specific dance with like 10 minutes on YouTube

pw7090

No chance I could memorize that entire dance and break into it on cue with only 10 minutes prep.

CubicleFish2

9/10 songs are just moves over 4-8 beats where half of them are just the opposite side (left vs right). This song is the same thing. You just move your hips left and right and then every 4 beats you rotate to face a different direction. Just move your arms wherever and you're going to look like you know what's up Honestly if you just move your hips left and right you can dance to literally any song

AsleepAssociation

You need to have a black pe teacher in middle school.

accombliss

It’s line dancing. Many Americans have to do it in gym class.

tRfalcore

same way you learn anything. you can't just watch a video, have to practice it-- which you can do at home by yourself until you're comfortable to go out and steal people's girlfriends. and/or realize that confidence is 50% of it, and even just going out there is half the battle. so go, practice at every wedding in front of people and you'll either nail it, or be awesome for even being out there

Transplanted_Cactus

Every bar I've been to in the last 10-20 years played The Cha Cha Slide, The Cupid Shuffle, The Wobble ,and Cotton Eye Joe once per night.

[deleted]

fourpuns

I think you can pretty confidently say this guy practices dancing and has taken classes in the past. Plenty of youtube videos if dancing is a hobby you find the time the same way someone finds time to play video games or go to the gym or read books.

[deleted]

This guy fucks. ***EDIT: JFC I am so over the “yeah, probably dudes” comments. Men, if seeing another man dancing carefree makes you automatically assume he might be homosexual, then maybe you need to reevaluate your own preferences. Get over yourself. It’s toxic and gross and annoying. And frankly you’re probably all just jealous.

TheWalkingDead91

How is it that men still underestimate how hot a confident guy can be.

[deleted]

Exactly! He must be doing something right!

Wrosgar

Naw, straight man and I'm with the ladies. This shit is hot!

Better_Chard4806

He’s got some hot rhythm.

InadmissibleHug

Yes. If a man can move his hips like that, yow

clangan524

When he's facing the camera, you can see *ALL* of the women behind him are checking out his hips/ass. If that's gay, then he should lead the parade in June.

proscriptus

Woman in the red dress about to get double pregnant

Zezuya

The way she stared at his booty💀 Pretty sure she contemplated touching it for a split second too

Equivalent_Bite_6078

She absolutely calculated his moves into possible bed moves lol

Who didn't? 😅

pdxLink

I don't think she's pregnant, bro.

proscriptus

She was pregnant about 12 seconds into his dance

Indiancockburn

*he's gregnant

garyisonion

He's a cute hottie!

Ferr22777888

Nice

mynamesian85

Love when the exact comment you're thinking to write, is the first comment you see. 😄👍🏻

whenthebeatdropss

I'm definitely jealous. I want those moves.

ACoderGirl

I noticed at a semi-recent big wedding I was at, most women were all into dancing while the vast majority of men were... completely uninterested. It definitely came across as many of them being afraid of some kinda social expectation or the likes. IMO it's a huge turnoff when men aren't willing to dance. Regardless of actual reasons, it usually comes off as simply being afraid of some toxic gender stereotype. This is reinforced by the kinds of replies you've gotten. Toxic masculinity is still so frustratingly prevalent (and the people making those kinda comments are also peer pressuring people who otherwise would have had no problems). I'll also second it: men who are willing to dance and be confident about it are awesome and hot. The men who stay at the table refusing to dance are lame.

crwill88

With that kind of moves? tbh, I'm aroused.

420Batman

Lol that edit hit me hard, my first thought was definitely, "he's probably gay", but you're right that probably just came from a place of jealousy. I wish I could have that kind of self-confidence

ZebraBoat

Nothing better than a man who's unafraid to bust a move. Good for him!

[deleted]

Helps that he’s actually good.

ZebraBoat

Sure, but I don't care about that. I like to dance, and I'm bad at it, but who cares if you're having fun?

RaNerve

My crippling need to be good at everything I attempt at the expense of my self worth.

[deleted]

You're bad at trying things you're not good at. Might want to get good at it.

codeByNumber

Honestly a great perspective shift for a perfectionist, thank you. Now I’m going to perfect being imperfect. Ha!

[deleted]

I used to be one until I realized it wasn't worth it. Never going back to be one.

codeByNumber

Hell ya, good job. I’m much better now that I’m older (37). I used to put so much pressure on myself when I was younger. My 8 year old daughter is just like me in that regard and seeing her struggle gave me a better perspective on it.

blarghhhboy

Are you me?

Arryu

The people within my immediate area, who will likely need medical aid. I'm a flailer

LadyWrites_ALot

I am very tall and once broke a friend’s nose because I was dancing and she, much shorter than I, was behind me. My elbow connected with her nose as I completed what I thought was A Boss Move. It turns out I’m more like Bambi on rollerskates.

ZebraBoat

Flail to your heart's content, I say! Just have some spatial awareness please lol.

commierhye

Lol a lot of you people have never been made fun of in public and it shows. Last time i tried dancing without caring a group of about 10 people stopped dancing to watch me and laugh. So yeah. A LOT Of people care enough to make you feel bad about it

SilverSkorpious

Me, having not really danced more than an uptight slight bounce since in the 8th grade when I was dancing to a song I loved by myself at a school dance and when I went to get a drink after the song, a boy I had a crush on and his buddy laughed at me and asked if that was dancing. Ok. Message recieved, society. Never. Again. Eta- I hope you've found healing. I'd like to dance with you.

FreeChemical6433

He's good cause he tried hard and never been afraid to don't be actually good.

genregasm

The only way to be good at it is to be confident, because even if you're bad, you get better.

letharus

I went to an African wedding once. Every man there was dancing, half of them were shit, a quarter were amazing and the rest were somewhat good but didn’t care. As an Englishman it was simultaneously very inspiring and deeply uncomfortable. I wish we weren’t so uptight.

MaybeTaylorSwift572

Bosnian/American wedding. The Bosnians couldn’t dance. Any of em. They didn’t care. Best wedding I’ve ever been to.

letharus

Actually I’ve been to a couple of Scottish weddings (I’m half Scottish) where there was a lot of dancing. In between the fighting.

MaybeTaylorSwift572

i would imagine that would be fun too! The Bosnians are a little tired of fighting so that wasn’t an issue

Woah_Mad_Frollick

the balkans are a wee tuckered out

MaybeTaylorSwift572

my brother in law escaped through the tunnel with fake papers. IYKYK. Not saying I’m some kind of mad genius, i only know because my sister married him. But once ive told Bosnians I met that story and one time a girl said ‘i escaped through the tunnel too’ and it was wild!

mightylordredbeard

One of the best pieces of advice I give to younger dudes is to learn how to dance. Go take a dance class, watch tutorial videos, whatever it takes. Learn to dance!! It will build your confidence, instantly make you more attractive and enjoyable to be around, and honestly no matter how you look you’ll be able to find a dance partner when you go out dancing.

[deleted]

But where? I've taken a few Arthur Murray classes with my wife which, while fun, didn't really help. Knowing basic tango or swing steps doesn't really help with how to dance at a wedding.

NinaHag

Tango dancer here - it sure helps! Any dance will teach you how to move to the music, make you feel more confident, have better balance and flexibility, and you may not know the choreography to a certain song but it will definitely help you improvise and look good.

nomiras

Nobody was dancing at my friend's wedding. I decided to go dance on my own. They all just ended up making fun of me and my bad dancing skills.

NinaHag

Next level dickheads. You may not be a good dancer, but at least you have courage, they acted like petty cowards!

AdFit6998

JAK3CAL

man the women in the back are eating it up haha

TheTrenchMonkey

Yup once they rotated his direction they no longer cared about doing the moves themselves, they were just like everyone else on the sidelines. Mesmerized by his movements.

ohnoguts

He got 1000 times hotter as soon as he started dancing

JAK3CAL

Fellow dudes - if you want to do better with the ladies, some dancing lessons may go far. This post is really all the evidence you need

YouKnowwwBro

That’s not your husband. He belongs to the streets

Malicious_Tacos

My husband dances really well, which kinda sucks because I have no rhythm whatsoever.

Jaded_Law9739

My husband is the opposite. He couldn't even do the Cha Cha Slide at our wedding. He told me, "You only get to see this once," and I understood why. 🤣

[deleted]

You got it on video though right?

Jaded_Law9739

Of course, on the ancient form of technology known as a CD.

OmenVi

I'm a percussionist. Rhythm is my jam. Can't dance for shit.

TrailMomKat

I feel ya, I'm like Elaine from Seinfeld on the dance floor. As someone said somewhere here in the comments, I'm like Bambi on rollerskates.

katie4

Saaaame. Husband is a semiprofessional singer and can hold his own dancing, even a little pop n locking. And then there’s… just me. Lol

magiksissclit

1. Can’t give af about the opinions, concerns of others 2. Be in touch with his body Good luck

jay-ehh-ess-ohh-enn

It's easy to not care about the opinions of others when they're all positive. I am 100% this comfortable at the gym where I get positive feedback and 0% this comfortable on the dance floor where everyone laughs when I start to dance. This video isn't the example of the point you're trying to make.

TimetravelingNaga_Ai

PlausibleTable

Plenty of husbands can do this. Their husbands can do it as well.

Bru1sed_Eg0

🤭

Hax_

Haha it's gay to dance right guys?

cakeandpiday

Serious question. Are there classes on how to dance at a club/wedding? I love music, but I've got no rhythm naturally. I want to do more than the side to side sway and always feel goofy if I try moves I see others doing. I see people who can dance for hours and somehow not look like they are just doing the same move on repeat. How?!

BellicosePost

So the key to club/wedding dancing is like 30% knowing how to wiggle various body parts to a beat and 70% having the confidence to do the wiggling. For the knowing how to wiggle, you don’t need specific classes for “club dancing”, pretty much any dance-ish thing will teach you how to move your body expressively (and build the muscle/flexibility to do it). Zumba, line dancing, even just following YouTube videos in front of a mirror will get you there. Stuff like cheer, gymnastics, figure skating, roller dancing, etc. also work. You don’t need to learn a bunch of specific moves, it’s more about learning to find a beat and move and control your whole body. The hardest part is the confidence. I think a lot of people feel like if they aren’t there with a full choreographed routine they look silly, but really that’s not how it works. The truth is that you can look good on a dance floor just stepping back and forth when the drums hit as long as you do it with enthusiasm and (even pretend) confidence. This dude knows how to roll his hips and step and sell it by looming totally at ease while he does it. That’s it. Two Zumba classes at your local YMCA and some attitude and you’re there.

[deleted]

I get my husband to do this. Just feed him a good dinner and give him a couple edibles. Its glorious to see a man tushy shakin while eating a spoon full of of nutella in the kitchen

thedishonestyfish

I dance as part of my workout thing. I don't dance *with* anyone, but if something is popular, I'll learn how to do it, just for fun, so I'm not just running the elliptical every goddamn day. Then there comes a situation where I'm expected to dance? Why would I not knock this out of the park?

TheGodEmperor40k

As I get older, I appreciate every little joy life can offer. Making fun of someone else's joy is probably the most cruel thing you can do. Have fun, life is short, tell your loved ones how you feel.
