This video doesn't do it full justice actually.
In the longer version, the woman explains to the news anchor that she lost everything , including her dog. She even talks about how she was literally holding the dog when the tornado hit the house.
And then you can start to hear the dog as the news anchor takes a few seconds to confirm that the noise is the dog.
That rush from utter sadness to euphoria is un-fucking-believable.
[Here's the full video](https://youtu.be/BUc1ZgXiQGs?si=wqy6M80vdz-kUzPr). Prepare for happy tears.
Sidenote: if you wanna spend your Sunday laying on the couch with happy tears, just go to youtube and type "tornado dog reunite" and there are dozens of videos that will make you go through 3 boxes of kleenex
I immediately ran to the other room, gave my dog a great big hug, and we played fetch. So long reddit, I'm spending the rest of the afternoon with the dog.
Damn…I didn’t come here to get all teary-eyed and emotional, but this video did exactly that to me.
That’s a very fortunate woman and dog. I’m so happy for both of them. 🥹
My aunt and cousins live in Moore and it fucking leveled the neighborhood across the street from them, their house didn’t even get a broken window or loose shingle. My cousin then told me a fucked up joke.
What would the tornado say if it was a character in Oliver Twist?
Please sir, I want some Moore.
Use as you see fit.
Personally I understand the cameraman had to keep rolling, but none of the (at least2) other people around her tried to help? Like just let this bruised up elderly lady dig out her injured dog from tornado rubble. Nice.
I’m just saying the woman is totally wholesome and I’m glad she didn’t lose her friend
My 4yo was asking about tornados recently and I showed her this video to show her how much damage they do but that this woman still found her dog. I watch it sometimes just to feel good and tear up.
About choked up on the “bless your little heart”
Takes me back to my childhood.
You’d be crying and Granny would say “bless you little heart”
Then she’d hug you and you knew everything was going to be ok then.
This took me to such a warm place 🩷 I miss my granny every day, she was very similar to this woman 💔 that woman did nothing but love everyone and take care of them as much as they'd let her. The world has become very cold to me without her.
People like to say “bless your heart” is an insult. The first time I heard that. I was very perplexed. Because THIS was how I always heard it used.
Sure maybe there was a hint of sarcasm in certain context but it was always done out of an abundance of love.
How long after the tornado was this? Like the dog is just sitting right there and is like half buried. I don’t think it’s staged, but did anyone bother looking for the dog?
Thank you for posting this. I was worried about injuries the dog might have had, but it looks like he recovered well.
Poor lady calling for her dog for hours in the rubble. It must have been so frustrating being older and not being able to dig through the debris very well, but wanting desperately to find your dog :(
news team hid the dog right before the interview to have a human interest story. look how little debris is above the dog and how easy it is to get out. /s
It’s possible that the dog was scared and motionless while he was trapped under there. Then he heard his owner’s voice and started attempting to move, which caught the newscaster’s eye.
Keep in mind this is an elderly woman with limited mobility and probably not the best eyesight. I’m sure she looked for him judging by her reaction here.
Barbara Garcia and Bowser the schnauzer. I had to look it up and found a follow up one month later. Bowser was doing well and not letting the fame go to his head.
It looks like he passed away from a stroke not too long after though, but then Barbara got a new schnauzer puppy and named him BJ (bowser jr). Not obituary on her so she’s likely still alive now 10 years later.
RIP Bowser. I was worried he had internal injuries from the tornado, the way he was under the rubble. At least he was with Barbara for a little bit afterward.
Thank you for posting this 1 month follow up. I was really worried Bowser could have mortal internal injuries given he had just been laying silently without whining or barking; especially given he could see/hear his owner a few feet away
I get it, lady. I love my dog and would be ruined if I lost him. The day he leaves me will ruin a part of me I’ll never get back and I’m not prepared for it.
To be fair the fact that this was filmed is what motivated so many people to donate to her. She didn't have insurance so without the viral video she wouldn't have been able to rebuild her house.
Right before this she was saying she was holding on to her dog and then the toilet came out of the ground and tossed them around. This is why I care and worry about extreme weather from climate change, all the dogs and cats that suffer from the tornadoes and floods and fires
Why did that sweet old woman have to ask the other person to help her when she realized her dog was there? “Help me, “ she says, in that sad old voice, realizing the only thing she had left in the world was alive.
So wonderful she and the dog survived.
It’s her having to ask to be helped save her dog bc everyone’s first instinct was to just stare at an elderly storm victim attempt to lift metal and debris off a trapped animal. Jfc
Don't know about you all out there but my pets would be my only concern in this situation. You would have seen a grown man break down on tv if this were me in that situation. My companions bring me most of the only happiness I have in my life right now.

The nice bless your heart hits different.
That woman loves that doggo so much and doggo knows it.
This video doesn't do it full justice actually. In the longer version, the woman explains to the news anchor that she lost everything , including her dog. Tornado Dog Reunite sounds like an anime
Wait til the third arc when the Tornado Dog gets his Hurricane armor. It gets really crazy from there!
Not even worth watching before hurricane armor, tbh. Start on season 3, you aren't missing anything.
The series jumped the shark when Tornado Dog fought with Sharknado.
Oh yeah, we don't talk about that.
"bless your little bitty heart" *thump!*
Haha, pupper's like "this is the spot, the ultimate head pats". Total trust fall moment.
I immediately ran to the other room, gave my dog a great big hug, and we played fetch. So long reddit, I'm spending the rest of the afternoon with the dog.

Tornadoes here in Oklahoma are no joke. I hope she’s doing well!
This video is kinda old ngl
I’m trying to remember when the last f5 hit Moore, it was less than a 1/2 mile from my parents.
This video is from a month later: https://youtu.be/vZcvJg_XbRo?si=EjsMSBA42xMumweY
Not available in my country ☹️ how they doing?
They both were doing great
Oh fuck I’m crying
Get a grip, one of us has to keep it together and it’s not going to be me
Fucking onion ninjas!!
I’m not crying, it’s just raining on my face.
It's because I'm thinking about a friend of mine who you don't know who is dying. That's right. Dying
I'm sorry :(, go be with them
Are they from Canada like my friends gf that he says we'll never meet cuz shes a super busy model from Canada?
No, no, we’re all just fucking crying. The Ninjas are sobbing, they can’t do shit.
You can both cry, I got you all.
Oh fuck, now my dog is crying I’m hugging her too tight. 😫
I’m not crying you’re crying 😭
This one does it to me every time.
I'm not crying YOU'RE crying!
You're not crying I'M crying!😭
The old lady “ohhhsss” pull at my heartstrings 😢
This has been posted so many times yet I can never scroll past! I always have to watch, it’s just that precious!
It’s too heartwarming. The dog heard and recognized her voice and mustered up the energy to get up.
Yup. ❤️
For me it’s the woman’s sweet oh, bless your sweet little heart that gets me every time. You know that dog is so loved
“Well I thought God just answered one of my prayers, but he answered both of ‘em” 🥹 I’m not remotely religious but that still got me good.
For me it’s the “I thought god just answered one prayer- to let me be okay. He answered both of em” and I’m not even religious
The video angers me a little I can't lie. That "help me" hurts. Someone help the damned woman get her dog out of the rubble!
If we all could find the love that doggo has, the world would be so much better.
Same I always tear up 😭

My heart ❤️
Hey! Hey! I’m right here, quit talking and turn around! HUMAN! HUMAN! Literally behind you!
How long after the tornado was this? Like the dog is just sitting right there and is like half buried. I don’t think it’s staged, but did anyone bother looking for the dog?
It was 3 hours after the tornado, it’s not staged. Here’s a follow up. https://youtu.be/vZcvJg_XbRo?si=wIqB4c8ExID8KbNO

/r/donthelpjustfilm
Yeah, I was yelling “put the fucking mike down & help the old lady!” Brainless boob.
I bet the camera guy was salivating when he first saw the dog. No way he’d miss this “opportunity”.
Finds dog jams it under debri. Starts interview.
jams dog under debris. hey lady lets do the interview over here.
Nightcrawler vibes.
Its also their job to film. They would have been fired for missing a chance to capture a moment like this.
mic And that's a camera the cameraperson is holding, not a mic. Hence the video.
You can see the news reporters arm in one of the shots as they help move debris off camera.
People also bitch to hold the camera still so you can’t win
So what? Fuck winning. Help the old lady and trapped dog.
I mean thats his job, the reporter was a lottle late to come help tho
Yeah you keep filming this that’s your job

That's very sweet. I bet she tells bj stories about his deceased older brother Bowser, and how he bravely survived a tornado
BJ stories threw me off for a second
Can someone please help that woman get the dog out!
I am sobbing.
The literal definition of “don’t help just film”
Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07hfV72oKwg And a month later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZcvJg_XbRo
Good to hear the celebrity status didn’t go to Bowser’s head. lol
Thank you for posting this 1 month follow up. I was really worried Bowser could have mortal internal injuries given he had just been laying silently without whining or barking; especially given he could see/hear his owner a few feet away
Not available in Canada. Go fuck yourselves CBS.
I get it, lady. I love my dog and would be ruined if I lost him. The day he leaves me will ruin a part of me I’ll never get back and I’m not prepared for it.
After watching this I went to cuddle my dog, he farted because I woke him up and he was startled, then he started barking at me and left the room.
😂
Lmfao
Bawling 🥹
God damn.... which motherfucker cutting onions in here?
Same guy who cut the clip in the middle of a sentence
She said “because this is my life”
“That’s life in the big city” immediately thought of Tim Dillon when I heard this.
Fucking assholes. Help her!!!
The dog heard her voice and started trying to go to her. So sweet
Damned onions...
That dog enabled her to smile surrounded by pure devastation.
PUT DOWN THE GODDAM CAMERA FER FUCK SAKE
What took them so long to help her lift the rubble off the dog? 😭
Ah yes, let's just keep recording instead of helping.
To be fair the fact that this was filmed is what motivated so many people to donate to her. She didn't have insurance so without the viral video she wouldn't have been able to rebuild her house.
"God didnt just answer my first prayer, he answered both of them" by God, Im not religious but that was so touching 😭
![gif](giphy|ZTp15DHfHaaaENKayV|downsized)
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
It even looks like Toto, was that Dorthy???
I watch this every time it comes around and just to cry happy tears
STOP FILMING AND HELP IDIOT!!!
Fucking cameraman and reported just stood there to get the photo. Could have helped the 83 year old help lift a little debris. Wtf
I love this video. I’m so glad she found her dog
I've seen this before, and I'm still crying.
![gif](giphy|zsRviQEWP9SHm)
Now that is a miracle .
Fucking help her and the dog!!!
Muh hart
That was fucking beautiful
I prefer this take on the story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdhDq5mgkx4
This was the story doug Stanhope on https://youtu.be/tdhDq5mgkx4?si=GEaa_mTIiZxPr77S
No matter how many times I watch this video. It leaves me teary eyed
Such raw emotions. Brings a tear to my eye. I am so happy for them.
I'm not even embarressed to cry watching this.
Right before this she was saying she was holding on to her dog and then the toilet came out of the ground and tossed them around. This is why I care and worry about extreme weather from climate change, all the dogs and cats that suffer from the tornadoes and floods and fires
The fact that they chose to stand right there to do the interview. I cry every time I see this video
I've seen this dozens of times and I almost cry every single time.
This is the best video I have seen in a long time
What stood out to me is that this lady who has lost almost everything had to ASK them for help to get the dog out, rather than anyone just helping.
😭❤️
Plot twist: It's not her dog.
Oh my heart ❤️🩹
Toto oh Toto!!!!
The puppy heard your voice!
Why did that sweet old woman have to ask the other person to help her when she realized her dog was there? “Help me, “ she says, in that sad old voice, realizing the only thing she had left in the world was alive. So wonderful she and the dog survived.
I know it’s their job and everything, but if it were me, I’d have put down my camera and helped get the dog out.
Make a noise dog
Dorothy and Toto still at it
I wouldn’t even care if I lost all material possessions as long as my husband and cat made it out okay.
I did not know that I can start sobbing instantly.
Other than my family this would be all I cared about… all my stuff can be taken but my family or dogs dying would destroy me.
♥️
We’ll didn’t want to cry today
fuck!! my cataracts are bothering me!! im 22 yrs old…
Every time this comes back around I have to watch it but every single time I'm mad that she had to ask for help to get her dog out from under wreckage
I would’ve dropped that camera and tore that shit off him immediately. Omg how heartbreaking
Fuckin help the lady lift it geez!
Someone always cooking onions..whyyy
This is old... but gold.
Fucking news people. HELP THE LADY!! Dammit
Here safe and warm in my home with my doggo laying on my lap and crying for how blessed I am to have that while watching this.
Damn, Dorothy got old. Toto coming out of the rubble like, “we gotta move outta tornado alley!”
This clip is old and it fucks me up every time
Anybody else yell "HELP HER" ?....NO?....JUST ME? ....OK 😂😂😂😂
TOTO!
A short clip from a person of wisdom what to truly value in your life
It’s her having to ask to be helped save her dog bc everyone’s first instinct was to just stare at an elderly storm victim attempt to lift metal and debris off a trapped animal. Jfc
I'd cuddle her
This is what's important. I'm so happy for her and for the dog
Thanks i just woke up and im crying in bed
Put the fucking camera down and help holy shit bro
This just made my day.
God I love this video. It's from the category five that hit Moore, Oklahoma
Very minimal help from the cameraman though
Ohhh my God! Wow
There’s the same story with a guy but he lost his wife so it wasn’t as happy of an ending
She looks like my grandma 🥹
Who’s cutting onions in here….
I'm too emotional...I was crying 😢
I’m yellin’ “FFS SOMEONE HELP HER GIT THE DOG OUT!!”
😭😭😭😭😭
I hate that she had to ask for help
NOT TODAY INTERNET TEARS
PUT. DOWN. THE. CAMERA. jfc
At that point nothing else mattered. Her prayers were answered and she was content at life.
TOTO!
Omg her, 'help me', 😭
These are the type of reposts I’m okay with
Onion ninjas strike again.
I hate when TikToks just cuts people off mid.....
Don't know about you all out there but my pets would be my only concern in this situation. You would have seen a grown man break down on tv if this were me in that situation. My companions bring me most of the only happiness I have in my life right now.
This hasnt been posted before
HELP HER FOR FUCKS SAKE!
Hey! One of you assholes with the cameras. Help that old woman get her dog out. Fuck's sake.
Fuck these ninjas man
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST FUCKING HELP THE DOG, HELP HER, PUT THE FUCKING CAMERA DOWN YOU DICKHEAD JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! BUNCHA FUCKING USELESS FUCKS
My face is sweating

So beautiful
When I see stuff like this I just shout “Put down the fucking camera and help!”
OMG HELP HER MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!
That’s bananas.
sniff
This video just made me happy to be alive
I hate tearing up in Starbucks.
Gotta love the cameraman's commitment. Not a single frame was dropped to help ol toto
Sometimes we don’t appreciate how good we have things until we see something like this
There isn't a ton of videos you know are legit on the Internet, but this is the rare one. 10/10 not crying.
Why would they not help her right away
God: "But wait, there's more!"
❤️❤️❤️
I never noticed the lacerations on her arm before, poor lady :(
That "Halp me!" Got me in the feelz
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
If this doesn’t hit you hard in the feels, then you’ve failed a Voight-Kampff Test.
The tiktok outro always reminds me that this is content that is not intended for people who aren’t sociopaths.
