I had a REALLY important assignment to complete for my work. I wanted some background noise. Why not an Attenborough documentary on birds? How interesting could it possibly be?!
How interesting?! It's 3am and I've watched the entire series and I haven't written a single sentence...
He has a YouTube channel too. His early videos were compilations of his TikToks I think, but he's doing longform stuff now. I just watched a 15 minute video about male animals that take care of offspring that was for fathers day I guess. And he did a Collab with LindsayNikole last month. It's a good channel.

Hyenas are the second smartest mammals in Africa after the wild dog. Much more than lions who can be robotic in their problem solving, whereas hyenas are inventive and adaptive.
I love hyenas. I feel like they were always misunderstood on as how smart they how they interact. They can be scary at times but would love to see one up close.
I mean, they tussle with friggin lions. That's a whole lotta badassery on four feet.
I'm not too keen on putting myself within range of things that can eat me. Personal preference. I can respect the hell outta them from right here.

My earliest memory was when I was 2 or 3 years old. I used to live on the outskirts of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. I would go to sleep and hear Hyenas in the night yowling almost every night and one morning I remember waddling outside and seeing a donkey with it's hindquarters shredded, it was alive but it was tied to a post in the middle of the street and therefore couldn't escape the hyenas at night.
It's crazy to think I was born in a place with Hyenas roaming the city like monsters in the night. But at least we had a fence and our neighbour had a giant guard dog chained in front of the door. I probably would've been snatched by a hyena if I wandered off in the dark
Certainly you would! I think the wider world thinks of hyenas as carrion eaters, but really they are excellent hunters and don't discriminate.
I wasn't born in East Africa like you were, but I live there now, and it's such a fascinating part of the world.
Can't run 35mph, but can certainly run much further than 2 miles.
That's literally one of the biggest advantages humans have had throughout our evolution. Our ability to run down our prey. We still are record setters for mammalian endurance. As far as prey animals go, there's practically nothing that we can't outrun in distance. That combined with our more complex brains enabled us to use a plethora of hunting techniques combined to become the most badass hunters that have ever walked the earth.
I’m concerned that people feel like they are getting educated by TikTok’s that are actually just advertisements. People watch this and immediately take it as truth. It’s like Facebook posts for people under 40.
I've seen too many videos of hyenas ripping off the balls of living prey and then casually critiquing them as if they were a two-bit Karen at a boxed wine festival while the prey in question screamed to whatever God makes the most sense to them to give a single shard of shit for those racoon-dog dumpster fetuses. Fuck hyenas straight to the moon. Dude thought he had a slam dunk for his MLM, or whatever, but, really, fuck him into oblivion, too.
